    Very sorry the original artwork was lost, but glad to know there's a work-around. Thanks for sharing this.

    David,
    Thanks for the videos.
    You must show us your machine and
    how you print the overlays. I have a couple
    1960;s playfields that need repaired.

    David, how do I get one of these printed for my SS? I've got the VP playfield file, but I have no idea where to go, or what exactly to ask for. Did you use the VP file?

    Hello which company produces the overlay you used? I got one for the funsouse, but it had the white back support, not transparent. I had a lot of problems. Thanks

    I just learned of the Superelectric Pinball Parlor a few weeks ago and went there last Friday. My friend and I had a blast! Centaur was probably my favorite followed closely by Cactus Canyon. All the games were in super nice condition. Did you restore the older games yourself?
    I'll be sure to contact you in due time about fixing some of my machines that had been in storage for numerous years.

    Hi, I've purchased a pinball machine with the overlay in place. Generally speaking, it was done very well and looks good. However, I have no idea how to maintain it. Do you have any recommendations about cleaning and waxing it to keep it in top condition? I'm concerned about using products designed for wood playfields that could damage the overlay. Thanks!

    • @SuperelectricPinballParlor
      @SuperelectricPinballParlor  Před 3 lety

      I use a quality clearcoat over the overlay so it can hold up to basically any kind of cleaner.
      Games without a clearcoat over the overlay are at risk of damage during cleaning. As a rule of thumb I would start by cleaning with the most mild cleaner in a hidden area. Move to more aggressive cleaners as needed testing a small area first. Usually you're pretty safe using a carnuba wax on printed materials as well as painted surfaces.

      I made this one for myself. Most of the ones I've purchased disappointed me. The only product made by other people I would recommend are the Outside Edge Hardtops.

  • @PinBallReviewerRepairs

    Do you have a LaserCue one of these?
    I am fully restoring my LaserCue and it has some noticeable wear spots that I want either a new playfield or sand it down and reapply the artwork on it.
    I have literally been looking all over for places to scan the playfield touch it up and then re-apply the graphics.
    The sad part is the majority say no and do not even know what the hell a pinball playfield is.
    I mean come on it is the 21st century why are graphics companies not in the know of a resurging arcade machine?
    Sad times when graphics places have no clue what you are talking about.

    Why clearcoat? its reverse printed, the ball would have to go through the mylar and its a old single level pf?

    • @SuperelectricPinballParlor
      @SuperelectricPinballParlor  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It isn't reverse printed on these. The material comes with adhesive and the print layer is on top. There's some other good products that have come out since this video that have the print layer below the material.

    • @SuperelectricPinballParlor
      @SuperelectricPinballParlor  Před 2 měsíci +1

      No. I think the ones on eBay are from Classic Arcades and I would not recommend them. They use a different material and process that's hard to work with and prone to failure.

  • @mrgazer26
    @mrgazer26 Před 6 lety

    Hi - you make it look so easy!!!!!!! I purchased an overlay for my High Speed from Classic Arcades - I have not done a 100% good job - can you suggest any other suppliers????? - Nice Job :-)

    • @SuperelectricPinballParlor
      @SuperelectricPinballParlor  Před 6 lety

      I create my own overlays and have been disappointed about the quality from retailers so it is hard for me to recommend any one. I put up a number of window decals when we opened the pinball parlor and that helped me get the hang of it. Maybe practice with some contact paper till you feel comfortable with the application.

      I did everything right - total strip of overlay - totally flat and then 3 separate coats of 2 pack clear coat - then wet and dry paper 1200 grit - its so flat and smooth. Just need something better to put on it.

      The overlays I made have held up better that the Hardtop games in our parlor. Overlays I bought from other vendors have always been problematic almost immediately.
