- Hit like or tomorrow a new virus shall emerge in Sevastopol, the characteristics of which include flatulence, itchy legs and regular bouts of Tourette's syndrome that centre themselves around criticisms of other peoples appearance. Despite not being fatal, it plunges the afflicted in to a deep state of self conscious anthropophobia. This crisis shall lead to months of sequential shutdowns further damaging the world economy while nations hunt for an antidote. A glimmer of hope briefly emerges when Brazil announces they have produced a vaccine but upon wholesale deployment, It soon becomes apparent that a side effect that affects 1 in 3 people, whereby susceptible patients develop a continuously growing fur coat on their eyeballs, inexplicably went undiscovered during the trials. Soon the disease ravages both developed and developing nations alike. Government services begin to shut down as the air in public work spaces become unbearably eggy and workers begin to foster a deep distrust of their fellow man. Human civilisation grinds to a halt 1 year on from the virus' emergence.

The moment the first of worstofall's nukes landed, he just let 'em rip. Always fun to watch the nuclear inferno in this game.
Watching nukes do their thing is half the reason I always watch and play this game :D

The huge Hive, That is part of Simspeed ++ it it Noting fancey it is the same cost and Build power Equivulent to a 3x3 Grid of Full upgraded hived by ahving it in 1 puiling that reduces the amout of build beams by a facot of 9 and they only activate in thr phantom game mode so the mod can be used for normal games
@@DominikoPL the mod Simspeed++ can be enable for normal team games to help improve the Simtick later on but you cant Build the "Super Hive" in those games. Only when the Phantom Game Mode is enable the mod will alow you to have accsees the the super hived. this prevents them being to Op in regular games

I can’t wait to get my new pc ! I use to LOVE playing this game as a teenager at launch, but I always had system requirements issues! Can’t wait until I save up enough

About that recent Setons game which got over 170k views that you mentioned in the intro: For me personally it was actually just the best game of Supcom I've seen in a while, like, I enjoy all of your casts but that one was literally just the best game I've seen in a long time. It seems very weird to write it out, but maybe the youtube algorithms are actually so good that viewer retention or like ratio or whatever did actually just reflect that.
So maybe the key to replicating that video is to just get lucky and find an absolute killer of a game in the vastness of the FAF archives.
Dunno, just my two cents on the matter.

Oh lordy, I've never seen this game mode before but it's fantastic. Just like politics, just more grown up and with better graphics.
Gyle can you post a channel poll asking viewers if they actually play any of the SupCom games? I know it might be a silly question but I think it would be interesting.
Don't see why Anton threw in the towel so early.
That moment at 30:20 was so exciting! Just seeing all the defence systems turn online at once and just start laying into each other. If I was Achieved my first scathis salvo would have gone for that island rammed full of red planes, my production then immediately strats and scathis main focus fire.
Edit: Also don't get that final bowing out either.
I think its was the lack of an SMD for Jaguar. He just couldn't re-establish enough land based build power to stand of 5+ nuke launchers. Without that he couldn't protect anything

Awesome game, I know of no other game I still play 13 years later - we so should have a sequel that plays identically with just updated graphics and more threads on the processors lol.

Since I found your channel, ive been working my way back through all your videos, I don't like when the people quit, like I've seen so many games where I was like "nope team 1 or 2 gots it in the bag. THEN the other team pulls it out they asses and WIN.

The Resouces work as followes the Phantoms get a Bonuse Based on what the Inocents Mass Income is and the Paliding get about a quarter what the Phantom gets and they keep thier Mass Bonus till they are maked by the phantom
I played a similar game mode in starcraft WoL years ago
DRU had a lot to say and most of it not very helpful, but that bit about not building an SMD on the Scathis Island was on point.
This shows that diplomacy / team breaking is underused in non-phantom games!

@gyle a submarine is vonerable to the pressure waves of large caliber HE shells and were vonerable at about 70-80 feet (23-27 meters) to there big sodding HE shells with the blast being cunducted by the water
Technically true. But GLHF trying to get a targeting solution that puts the shells anywhere *near* the boat given the shallow cannon trajectories and the difficulty of pinpointing the sneaky buggers' location - there's a reason why back when big-gun ships were still a thing ASW was all about destroyers and bombers just dropping depth charges on their heads. And the occasional mortar volley projector on the foredeck so they didn't have to sail right over the things but basically same shit. (Nowadays things are mostly torpedo/ASROC based AFAIK.)

The SACU explosion sounds being the same does bother me somewhat. Maybe even moreso though, the lack of attack alerts when I'm playing myself... (If any of my units gets attacked, I do need to know right away. That's just a basic RTS feature...)
True, but when you play and zoom out and in you'll see. Getting notifications for every single unit is pretty insane, trust me. With a unit cap of 1000-1500 it will annoy you really fast. Maybe check the mod vault if something exist like that. But I think if you're getting more experienced, you will just use the blinking icons on the minimap instead, like most players do.

Fun game. I never noticed before the nuke launchers have an alarm sound just before they fire, but it seems you have to be quite zoomed in. You can hear it at 48:15.

Usually I host with:
- PxModAlpha (for hives and some rebalancing)
- Unit Cap x10 (with a phantom eco, the standard limit cap is too low)
- Speedsim (just essential)
commenting for algorithm

no, medium hardware of today will work fine! If you want best performance: get more GHz instead of more cores (the opposite of modern software)

I think you have to rely on a spiritual successor at some point.
Chris Taylor seems to want to work on other stuff now, which is understandable, things change. But he knows how much the community wants Sup Com 3, and if the funding was there, perhaps he could make one more masterpiece. This game (the expansion) came out in 2007 and is STILL today unmatched. I could only imagine what a passion project with no BS that you find in most games today would be.
How can you change the perspective in the game?
scroll wheel does zooming, holding spacebar and moving the mouse allows you to point the camera differently from the normal top-down
