No, it shoud look like this:
Sharagovich - Kadri - Kuzy
Coleman- Zary - Mantha
Pelletier - Backlund - Coronato
Lomberg- Pospisil - Hunt
Huberdeau - Rooney - Duehr
I'm hoping that's closer. Also cautiously optimistic that pelltier and coronato get some push from the bottom

I agree, this is much closer to what I would think. We shouldn’t have a top line of three guys 31-35 years old in a rebuild.
The forward lineup looks respectable. It’s the dmen and goalies that are likely lottery worthy.
Looks like a team that knows they are in for a lottery pick.
If Coronato and Pelletier arent getting playing time ahead of Rooney and Deuhr this team is on the wrong track for the rebuild.
Pelletier is not an NHLer. How much more does everyone need to see? Coronato needs more ice time than he would get on the 4th line. I would like to see him in there, but I also want to see everyone listed in this top 9. Someone will probably get injured in pre season and Coronato will slide in.
Probably right, although this amounts to not much more than spit balling at this point
@@factsdontlie4342 I agree Pelletier has struggled but he is every bit as much an NHLer as Rooney or Deuhr. It would be silly not to try him over them.
I have Calgary in the seventh spot in the Pacific next year behind Anaheim and ahead of SJ.
Ok. You can't complain about the lines and the roster if you know they stripped it down to start over. Seriously.

It's not dire all - it's a re-build. What would be dire is if you (as in the Flames, not the fans) think they could win with this roster and gave up future assets to shore this roster up. They'll be sellers at the trade deadline you can bet on that - but don't worry, when you're new arena is built you want a young, exicting, talented team with no where to go but up going in that building, not some veteran laden, barely make the playoffs (if they do at all) only to be beat in the first round with no future star prospects on the horizon.
@@KptKrunch9481I fully trust conroy will get the team to that point of desire when the arena is built. He’s been true to everything he said in his 1st year as a GM. Flames likely have a really good one on their hands, and he came out of nowhere
The foreword core is ok, but there are only like 2 actual NHL caliber D on the roster. Hopefully they sell some of their expiring forwards and actually go for a top 3 pick

Long time Oiler fan here. I really hope the Flames management can get it together, I miss the Battle of Alberta so bad. I watched the games in the 80’s and 90’s, the best, most competitive hockey I’ve ever witnessed. I truly hope to see a Battle again soon. Good luck in the future. Go Oilers, I had to put that in 😅

gonna be a LONG year
Uberdough Sharongoalbitch Mantha will be a strong first line , mantha and Huby train together and most likely have chemistry. Then the second line of Kadri Pospisil Kuzmenko can also be surprising . Time will tell.
Here's what it should be in my opinion (Only using the players from the depth chart)
1. Offense
Huberdeau - Kadri - Sharangovich
Zary - Coleman - Kuzmenko
Propisil - Backlund - Mantha
Lomberg - Rooney - Dueher
2. Defense
Weegar - Andersson
Bahl - Bean
Pachal - Miromanov
Vladar (Starting Goalie 42-47 games)
Wolf (Backup 35-40 games)
I think you swap Lomberg with Hubredeau and this starts to make a bunch of sense. Still going to be a 8th or 9th (last) place finish... Like those top 10 picks.
Maybe not a playoff team, but they will be competitive. Don't despair, the team is still being built.
That's literally worse case scenario though. If they are a bottom feeder they at least get some value at the draft

Duehr looked pretty fast with Lucic and Lewis .... Real speed showed bad with younger quicker linemates......that showed quicky

I see Coleman and Backlund, Pospisil and Kadri, and Huberdeau and Mantha playing together but I don't know who will play with them.
Zary with huby and mantha, kuzmenko with kadri and pospisil and sharangovich with coleman and backlund? I think it will help when either mantha and or kuzmenko are traded at the deadline to slot in coronato.

Just gotta keep Mantha motivated. He can play like he's 6'5" .... ask Hamonic. I think he broke his face on Mantha's fists when he was on the Flames. Surprised we don't remember that, because Mantha seemd like a very big, very, very mean jerk that line brawl. Mantha did a number on Nick Cousins too last year if I remember correctly. He just needs to stay engaged in the game. When he is, he's a beast - but often he's not.
Who put these lines together? Lets hope this isn't the case.......
Huberdeau was playing with Barkov , just ask Sam about putting up points , the common denominator is Barkov and the flames don’t have anyone close to that

I'm sorry, what? Backlund as top-line center? You realize that's not going to help Huberdeau or Coleman at all. Honestly, I wouldn't put Coleman there either. Kadri centering that line, with maybe Kuzmenko or Mantha on the other side - Huberdeau seemed to play well with Kuz, and who knows maybe Mantha will be a good fit with him. Have Backlund center the second line, with Sharangovich and Zary or Coleman (try Zary first, move Coleman there if it doesnt work). I would also be much more inclined to get Pelletier more opportunities. This season is going to pretty obviously be a non-playoff year, so let the kid get more ice time, it couldn't possible hurt.

Still might he destined for a 10-15 first round pick. You HAVE to get a top 3 pick in a rebuild. Be better at sucking guys!!

Is it not the right time to move on from Coleman and Backlund. I understand their contribution to the team but they both have value and they are both taking up roster spots where youth could play. I would much rather see Coronato, Pelletier, Stromgren, Klapka, etc in these spots. If we're doing a rebuild, let's do a rebuild. Let's give these guys experience and get the highest pick possible for the next two seasons.
These lines are all wrong, the top line isn’t the top line. There’s no way Backlund is centring the top line at the end of his career, I might even put Backs on the 4th line C sometimes to give Zary a chance to centre his own line. Huberdeau is supposed to play with Mantha too to test chemistry. Coronato needs a spot too, probably on the wing with Backs and Coleman. This should be a year where we give young players a chance in true top 6/9 positions.

Trade Coleman an Anderson for a first or second round pick for next year and buy out backlund, so that the young guns can have a shot in the NHL. #Calgaryflames
I'd agree that we should trade either coleman or Andersson, maybe both, but keep backlund, his contract is only two more years and he's a solid veteran who is the captain. If we trade those three guys, we'll only have kadri, huberdeau and weegar as legitimate veterans. Don't want to turn into buffalo

That was when Gaydreau and Matthew turtle boy Gaychuk were still on the team. Don’t worry Cowtown’s dads took care of those two frail little boys and sent them back to America. The fLames will be irrelevant for years to come
