Honestly feel bad for the goalie. He had some sick saves and overall 39 saves, but what a lot of peoples takeaway looking at the scoreboard will just be that he got scored on 8 times.

yeah, the bigger problem is that the team let Finland have 47 shots. But i quess its to be expected with the development and skill differense. I wish GB funded their youth program more.

Don't worry Team GB, as a Norwegian we have been in the same situation a billion times. We will probably experience the same faith on Monday. Finland playes smart vs less experienced opposition, and they control the tempo in the most confusing ways. Defending against a strong Finnish momentum, reminds me of trying to understand a complicated Claude Debussy composition.

@@Shmerpy We've had a team for ages, in fact we've been members of the IIHF longer than Canada. It's just not a massively popular sport over here so it doesn't have much in the way of funding and as such, we're not producing much in the way of players. We pop up in the top division every now and again, had a spell 2019-2021ish in it last.

That Finnish style is very, very tough on lower level and less experienced teams. You need a ridiculous fitness level to keep up. Hard on GB playing back to back.

@@rorororo-gb6eoLatvia, Switzerland and Germany have all been good challengers for the top teams over the past years, but I wouldn't call them top teams just yet. For that, they need to be more consistent and just a bit better overall. On a good day they surely can compete with a top team that's not having their best day, which is great, but not enough to call them top teams imo. Nevertheless I love the fact that these countries have stepped up their game, and I hope to see them thrive in hockey one day!
You can remove Slovakia from that list. Czechia would also not be included if there was a World Cup Of Hockey & Olympics that allows NHL players. Finland is for now only included beacuse Russia is out. In terms of pro-level NHL players it's: 1.Canada 2. USA 3. Sweden 4. Russia in that order. You can make a case to switch positions of Sweden and Russia. Finland is an honourable mention while Czechia and Slovakia is not touching the top 4. Thats it 😊

@Nikita-dz6ys, yes, I agree with You. The Finns played really strong, and the Brits just couldn't keep than pace. Keep still in mind, that this Brittish team played rather strongly earlier against Canada and the Canadiens had to work the full 60 minutes for the win.

Well played from both teams.🇫🇮🤝🇬🇧 As a finn i have to give credit to the brits GK Ben Bowns. He faced a lot of shots but still made some nice saves. Britain was put in the same group with countries like Canada and Czechia, which are very good at hockey. Last game for Finland was decent as we went 0-0 against Czechia for 3 periods and OT, but lost in the shootout. Good luck to every team in the tournament! 😄

Last go out and next year my little country Slovenija again play here in A division. This year we play in A1. 2 years ago we have dificult group Kanada, Finland, Czech R., Slovakia. And bad luck to. We win 2 period against Czech and Slovakia But lose later. I love Finland and Sweden play 👍🔥🇸🇮

A tough one for GB...
Why is the quality so bad? The quality is capped at 720p, and it feels like the camera has an old lens protector.
GB invented ice-hockey. They could have been a top nation if they would have put effort on it.
Whoever makes the highlights is very lazy they should be replaced. Make the videos at least 6 mins long. We want to see chances, hits and saves.

No to NHL caliber players. They are in the tournament due to a lack of good teams and because Russia is banned. So, one more bad team gets in.
Doubt there are any AHL calibre players on team GB to be honest. We're good enough to get promoted from the division below but nowhere near good enough to compete at this level.

Nothing wrong with the Canadians. They always start slow in this tournament because they are made up of players who don't play together. Still the beat the U.K.. Look at the results of the last several years. Early loses against bad teams, then end up winning the tournament or coming close.
European teams have a long time to prepare for this tournament. U.S. and Canada do not. It shows in early stages of the tournament, but the cream always comes on top.
Canada now has two wins and is in first place.

The good thing is that they usually play the better teams after they play a few games. Then they play as a team, not just as individuals thrown together.
