Hi. After numerous dire warnings and ominous predictions from friends, I left mid- October and drove from Oregon to central Mexico. (Down the Pacific coast to Guadalajara, Morelia and the Lake Chapala area.) I then left just before Christmas and drove back to Oregon. I had a great time, met lots of wonderful people and was stopped only once, by a police officer who was concerned because I looked lost. He gave me directions to a good park where I could let my dog run off leash. I'm 69 and have long traveled by myself or just with my dog. Enjoy your adventures!

Hi Maddie. So nice to see you again. Here you are driving solo, your first long distance attempt and you did it!! @@dougpotosky4102 I’m proud that she overcame a fear. Being that I just lost my husband I’m overcoming fears everyday and I know how hard it is to do something when you’re afraid to. All the other stuff you mentioned is irrelevant to my point. Besides she is in the country and has to be able to get around and I lived there myself and know other woman who drive by themselves there all the time so calm down.

This was the only part of my road trip I had to do alone thankfully. I'm not trying to prove anything just so I can add #solofemaletravel to the hashtags 😜

Loved this SOOO much Maddie!!! 🥰💕 I can’t wait for a new trip and it’s so much fun watching you travel and living vicariously through you!! Thank you!
Aww thank you so much amiga!! 😊😊
Maddie!! I missed your videos so much!! I personally have so much anxiety about solo travel and I’m seeing in the comments that a lot of other women feel the same, so this video is really empowering for us! I love how you are able to push through any fears and the lies of anxiety that tends to be the hardest to get past, and you really seemed to be enjoying your time solo and with friends!! I’m so glad you’re filming and taking us with you again!! Hugs!! ❤️💃🏻
Thanks for showing the beautiful art. I like how you naturally talk to the animals. I can relate!
Great video! Super happy to see you again Maddie.
Happy to see you online again. Bright Blessings for an amazing future.🌹
Went to Ajijic and Chapala 2 weeks ago, we had a very fun time at the Beer Garden !
so happy to see this video. Ajiic is one place I am interested in exploring.
Kudos to you Maddie for your bravery and thanks taking us along. I guess knowing some Spanish truly would make it more comforting. I gotta get busy and get some learning lol 😀
How nice to see you back in Ajijic! I don't recognize the New Years Eve restaurant (or is it Baja Norte's new location?) I'll always love Ajjijic but, like you, ended up in a place that felt slightly more Mexican. Keep on keeping on, Maddie, and happy trails!
Great video! It's strange not seeing you and Jordan together, but you both are making great videos! Mantener el buen trabajo!
Great video! Excelente job Maddie!
When you get older you will remember these type of adventures as some of the happiest memories of your life. I made these type of trips a couple of years ago and I miss them and I felt free.
When I was 22 I packed up a small duffel bag into My Jetta GLX and decided to Roadtrip from Texas down into Mexico... All by myself. Quite a liberating and also a very amazing experience
I loved seeing you again Maddie.
Please don’t let the haters stop you from shining.
Here’s a quote from Albert Einstein…
“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
Don’t ever change.
You’re a beautiful person. ❤️

Great video. We hear so many negative things about Mexico, you inspired me to travel there again soon. I need a vacation. Thank you & great to see you’re well and happy.
Hi Maddie. So nice to see you again. Here you are driving solo, your first long distance attempt and you did it!! Nice that you chose Ajijic for your destination as I am planning to do a ‘’solo bus ride’’ there from La Peñita. Went to Guanajuato 1 month ago with a friend, the next trip will be solo!! All the best to you in the New Year Maddie 🌹
Good for you, Maddie! I'll be taking my first road trip in my lime green Prius C in the Yucatan, soon! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽We can do anything!
Great video and proud of you for taking a solo trip. I've traveled by myself and it has good and bad...I love that I can pick the songs I want to play and sing as loud as I want lol
This was fun. I’m proud of you.
Great Video Maddie and Happy New Year
So inspiring! And now I miss Ajijic😭
Looks like your trip turned out extraordinario! Thanks for the 'recorre'!
Proud of you!!! I’m a new widow and this inspires me as I have to take on life by myself and have been overcoming some fears as well ❤️💪🏽🦋
Thanks tonya! It's always the hardest at first but once you get past that first hump, it gets better ❤️
Prayers for all of you! Why are you proud? One off the most dangerous Countries in the world! It's been all over the news for many! Many! Years! Why travel there? You have nothing to prove!!! I am not a conservative person. But when it comes to safety and my life. I am super careful and conservative!
@@dougpotosky4102 I’m proud that she overcame a fear. Being that I just lost my husband I’m overcoming fears everyday and I know how hard it is to do something when you’re afraid to. All the other stuff you mentioned is irrelevant to my point. She could be skydiving which in my opinion is also very dangerous and something I wouldn’t do and I’d still be proud if she was overcoming a fear that she had. Besides she is in the country and has to be able to get around and I lived there myself and know other woman who drive by themselves there all the time so calm down.
Do it! I travel solo a lot because I have a diabetic cat so my husband will stay home with her. It very freeing and once you start you'll be hooked. Adventure on!
So happy to see you Mandy!!!!!!!!! Great job driving
So nice to see YOU making the video!
Happy new year!!!
Hey Maddie great to see you posting again!!! I am also facing fears today, I'm in Mahahual - and I promised myself I'd speak espanol . I did ok, but I have a long way to go to really feel confident! I was getting gringoed all over but your video from Mahahual really helped! Thank you for continuing to educate, entertain and inform. I absolutely love Mexico and you and Jordan really opened my eyes to this wonderful country.
Loved seeing you in Ajijic again and seeing your smiling face. That place, though I've never been, seems to have a good feeling or vibe about it. Glad you were able to enjoy it and take us along with you! :^)
Love this. You are courageous. I cant wait to vacation in Mexico and I hope I run into one of you guys!
Nice Maddie. Looks like you had a nice New Years celebration🍾🎉👏🏼🥳
Good to be here, hi Maddie! I need your input and advice...please, please. I will be visiting Oaxtepec, Mexico this coming November 23th 2022 (only until SUN 11/27) with my family for my brother's wedding. Any tips and any important pointers while I am planning my trip, when I get there and I want to see a little bit the 1st day before going to Oaxpetec, should I stay my first night in Mexico City? Be Blessed, Yana.
Can you make a vid on the times you where pulled over? Thanks
