Derrick Cope blowing an engine is one of the more head scratching moments in NASCAR. He came to a complete stop and for some odd reason the motor blows up. Very unusual.

probably the brakes locking up, he was unable to achieve power, or he felt something off with his car.
It gave “blowing up” a whole new meaning.
I am always in awe of the Montoya jet dryer incident, just on the basis of the sheer bad luck that had to compile for JPM to have something snap RIGHT THERE, while at speed, with a jet dryer being perfectly positioned for him to slam into it. He was just a passenger on an incredibly improbably ride
But it did become a huge self advertisement for Tide.
And it later became part of a Tide Commercial
When you watch the special fox did on that race it ended up something in the rear was breaking and evidently it snapped sending him into the safety truck

Anyone else find it odd how often that hood thing happens to hamlin and it only ever happens to him I mean how does something like that happen 3 times to the same driver and only that driver
Denny Hamlin need to put a super Glue on the hood and wait when the glue Drys and go to race lol
apparently they know it's going to happen because now they're putting some of his sponsors names on the underside of the hood! lol
Maybe his knee hit the hood release lever.
Probably because he uses his front bumper so much.
