To learn portuguese nasal diphthongs, it's best to know some spanish.
This symbol ~ (til/tilde) was were in the past was a "N". So spanish "manos" turned into "mãos".
"Balones" into "Balões", etc
Your self-roleplaying shorts are brilliant 😅 Also I feel better about English and its unpredictability now 😆
Obrigada haha ☺️
😂😂. Hi Mía. I just bought your crash course. Greetings from Massachusetts.
Portuguese is like "Rules? What rules? You need to feel this with your heart!"
(Also, I started watching this without realizing it was about PT-Portuguese.. Greetings from a Brazilian, Portuguese people)
Hehe sometimes it seems like it’s this way, yes 😀
@@MiaEsmerizAcademynglish isn't any less illogical, I'm just glad I already speak it natively and don't have to learn it. Case in point, you get ON a bus, plane, train or ship, but you get IN a car. Why you ask? No real reason other than "that's just the way it is"
@@grassytramtrackswe learned in school that “on” is if you walk in the vehicle , and “in” if you cannot walk in, so in a car you sit right away :))
Você é muito bonita! I want to learn Portuguese. I love your beautiful language. It sounds so different from other Romance languages that i can distunguish Portuguese from a first sentence. I have learnt French by myself and i decided to learn Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. Kind regards from Ukraine!
Thank you! I am glad to hear that you like our language :)
Hi, I'm from Brazil and as you already know, it's a Portuguese speaking country. We who speak Portuguese love when they talk about our language. Thanks from Brazil or best obrigado do brasil
Дякую з Бразилії або best obrigado do brasil

Very nice!))
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Brazilian Portuguese is really crazy, even we have difficult to speak correctly.
This is portugal portuguese
It's super easy, you just have to know Spanish--the rule can be easily explained directly for over 99% of the cases if you learn Spanish first. A few exceptions, like veroes.
Bonita e engraçada 😂
Adorei!
Obrigada 😊
Thank you. I’d like to suggest you put the meaning of the words in English please that would be of great help for people like me trying to learn the language 😊
Cães:dog
Balão:ballon
Of course there are rules! It's called etymology. Look up the older version of the words.
You can find traces of vulgar Latin in common castillian Spanish and Galician.
Mão MãOs / Mano ManOs
Cão CãEs/ Can CanEs
Balão Balões / Balon BalonEs
Yes, true, but this would be way too complicated for students that are just learning Portuguese and have no previous knowledge of Vulgar Latin. They would’ve to study two languages instead of one ☺️
Tem lógica sim. Ela que não quis explicar. Bastava ensinar:
Palavra feminina = ão/ ãos
Ex: mão = mãos
Palavra masculina = ão/ ães
Ex: cão = cães, pão = pães
Palavra de duas sílabas = ão/ ões
Balão = balões, anão = anões, vilão = vilões
Mas cidadão > cidadãos...
Cristão > cristãos...
Etc...
bellissima
Obrigada ☺️
So English isn’t the only language that trips up students by changing plurals
Sou do Brasil.
It’s a guessing game lol
😀
Nice
thank you :)
😄😄😄😄
story of my life learning portuguese hhh
E "ancião" que aceita três: anciães, anciões, anciãos 💀💀💀💀💀
-ões é o padrão, o mais comum.
Kkkk
😀
😂😂
try english !! I'm learning portuguese , so, being english I'm used to daft constructions !
Oof. I bet learning English as a second language is significantly more frustrating with "the rule is the rule" type stuff. Like though tough through cough.
Yes ☺️
who said portuguese make sense?
You are beautiful
Lol
😁☺️
It’s unreal to study that language. No logic
This chick says on her Web page that Portuguese is the 4th most spoken language on earth, If she did her research the top 5 most spoken language on earth are 1Chinese 2English 3Hindi 4Spanish 5Arabic. Portuguese doesn't even make the top Five. It is all wishful thinking for Mia.
What do you mean by "Chinese"? There are several languages spoken cin China. Perhaps Potuguese is not in the top 5 but does it really matter? Don't forget that Portuguese is also spoken in South America and Africa. Baza!
@@anaramos2802 As a German studying in L.A. Cal..The main languages to learn here in U.S. are Chinese with 3.5 Million Speaker's, Spanish with 50 Million Speaker's and 40 Million are Native. Portuguese a nice Cousin of Spanish but in U.S. it needs promotion and teachers like Mia to make it relevant in U.S.
