- Today we're showing you how to turn the end piece of our Mighty Paw Naturals Yak Cheese Dog Chew into a crunchy cheese puff your dog is sure to love and drool over: mightypaw.com/products/dog-ch...
The entire process takes less than 10 minutes and is very easy to follow. All you need is a bowl of water, a Yak Dog Chew end piece, a microwave, and your drooly pup, ha!

My dog LOVES these. He’s never hidden a treat / bone / toy before but he guards these with his life 😂
These are amazing just discovered them and my pittie has been chewing for 2 days on hers which is incredible because she usually eats things in 2 mins lol
Oh yaaay, we're stoked to hear that! Give your pup some lovings from us please :)
My dog has taken about 3 months to get her Yak Cheese Dog Chew to the small size! I love them...
Hi Cino, we're so happy to hear that! It's so interesting to see how long it takes our pups to get the chews down to a small size. We've experienced everything from a few hours to a few days and weeks. Your pup just broke a new record, ha!!
My yak chews came with instructions to microwave them so my dog can’t even get through the unmicrowaved chew. She is older so maybe that’s a reason but she does crunch through once it’s a cheese puff. I thought putting it in the microwave was the requirement cuz it is such a hard chew.
Oh, thank God! I have a drawer full of yak cheese in my refrigerator
my 6month gsd husky took 5 days on her large chew
My Pittie girl loves these but they're too hard for my senior GSD so tonight I'm trying the puffs. I'm hoping he'll be able to enjoy them too.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Verona! How did your senior pup do with the puffs?
What type of dog is Wally? He looks a lot like our rescue dingo.
Can you just nuke the whole thing? Any suggestions how to cut them? I think I bought ones similar to these once before.
but I have yorkies so I'm afraid of them biting off pieces too big and getting stuck in their throat.
Do they not get sold as puffs why?
Hi and thanks for your questions!
1. Yep, you can nuke the whole thing if you want.
2. A sharp bread knife should work best to cut them.
3. We don't sell them as puffs because we'd have to microwave them beforehand :) And that takes away from the long-lasting chewing entertainment. Typically we only suggest nuking the last bite.
You could also try our Pig Ear Chews for your Yorkies - they're probably easier to chew on for them!

@@mightypaw7662 Or... and here is a thought... You can put the ones aside that don't pass inspection, cut them into bite sized chunks and sell THEM as microwavable puffs. Then people can buy them in ready to microwave size!
@@labella9291 Thanks so much for your suggestion and for thinking outside the box :-)
What can you do if you don't have a microwave. (I know, shocking, but we don't have one by choice.) =P
That's a good question, Melissa! We haven't tried it yet, but you may be able to use your oven as well!
Throw it out maybe? Or use a cheese grater or food processor to make a little sprinkled topping
@@madeleine363 Thanks for sharing your ideas, Madeleine :) It would probably need to be a meat processor rather than a food processor because the chew is pretty tough.
Never heard of Yak cheese here in UK. 🇬🇧
Hey I'm in the UK (Scotland) and been using yak cheese chews for a long time. You can get them at b and m or pets at home. I also believe amazon may have them also x
There now available at pets at home !!!
I ordered a 4pk of the large and a couple of the chews broke apart....is this normal?
Yes. Depends on how they are made.
soaked mine for 1 hour...nothing happened, put it in microwave for 45 secs, they got hot but nothing happened, we're using everest brand as that's the one i got at my local pet store
Huh, how strange...maybe you should try our Yak Cheese Dog chews instead?!
@Creeping Normality Ah-hah ! Maybe mine was also made in china because it’s very hard (had to take it away as my dog could have broken his teeth) and decided to soak it in boiling water. After 30 mins, no change at all. There was no packaging - just sold in the pet shop loose. Next time I’ll pay attention!
@Creeping Normality They're not going to get "squishy" no matter what brand you get.
This does not work. Nothing happens. Anyone know what actually works?
Might be the brand. Works for me
@@travisswartzendruber222 I figured it out. They need 4 to 5 minutes.
That’s three tools, not two!
