  • My Henry vacuum cleaner that I used for dust extraction recently stopped working properly and resisted my attempts to clean it up. So after a bit of research I have replaced it with the Titan TTB350vac from UK based ScrewFix. As I managed to get it for £10 less than the normal retail price of £44.99, I also picked up the reusable HEPA filter to help protect from the really fine hardwood dust that my power-carving generates.

    I have the same one Andy great hoover works like a dream. I have to admit mine has taken a beating over the couple of years Ive had it, but is still battling on. Actually used the exhaust to add airflow to my forge worked extremely well.

      That's good to know. Thanks Andi.
      That's a useful tip on the forge. Is it not too forceful though?

      I was very pleased with that price. I think I will have to do some work on the hose and it's connections but it's done a good job on clearing the sawdust from the benches.

      I think it is something I need to look at. Needs to be small though. Although the parts could go in different places. I'll have to do some research. After Makers Central though.

    I had one of these all the way through the build of our cottage and the studios. Really lasted well , just a note to think about tho. The exhaust port can be vented to the outside world , meaning you can put the vac in a somewhat sound proofed cabinet. Works really well for my much larger camvac. should work for the titan too. :)

      I quite like that the exhaust port sends out warm air. It's helped warm the Tinkerage today when it was a bit chilly this morning.

    I got a little vacuum similar in size at harbor freight. The foam filter clogged in a few minutes. Definitely have to get the better filter.

      That's interesting. After my recent health scare taking a bit more care is definitely a priority.

    Looks good! I have a slightly cheaper one from B&Q. Same design as a Henry only the bucket is metal. Problem is, the static electricity that's built up by the dust gives you one hell of a shock if you touch it!

    This has really helped me thank you, i have been looking for something like this for my small workshop and like yourself space is key. I noticed that you use some workzone equipment as do i have you been able to use it on them?

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Nathan, yes I do have some Workzone tools. It will fit with adaptors. So far I've just been using bits of plumbing pipe and fittings to make it work. I know Amazon and a couple of other places sell flexible adaptors that will allow a variety of vaccums to work with a variety of different tools but I am hoping to go down the 3D printer route, once I've moved it into the house (it's too cold out there at the moment).

    Good price great little hoover. Now you need to make a dust cyclone bucket. They work a treat saves on vac bags plus don't need to empty it as often. Use the old hose from the Henry.... cut it into 12 inch sections use the sections to make tool adaptors so they fit on the tools then the titan hose will fit into the tool adaptors hose pieces... great video mate

    I'm 99% sure I'll be buying one of these this week just for the house and car. I've heard about people not using the bag with this hoover and just emptying the bucket when needed, would this be OK? The one thing that got on my nerves with my old Henry was buying bags, at the moment I'm using a bag less cylinder hoover but it's not very good. 😕

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 4 lety +2

      It will certainly work without a bag especially with the washable hepa filter; I ran my Henry for about 18 years without one. Obviously it goes against the instructions in the manual and would probably void the warranty.
