When I ran my t25 up the mountains the gearing and when it was out of spool was very annoying.
The appropriate gear used to climb was out of spool, when down shift it was to high in spool.
Now with my 16g, it's in the right spot going up the same mountains.
Right on! I’m still a T25 fan. We will see what happens in the future though. 🤙🏼

Nice video and those are absolutely one of my top 5 favorite cars and one I do seriously hope to own one day. Feel bad the speed limit is only 25mph tho, I got a pretty nice twisty road I like to throw down on in my '07 Mustang GT in the summer time that's 55mph. All I really have done to my car though is exhaust, CAI, tune and suspension and some nicer wheels (18x9 front and 18x10 rear). Lowered (which I will NEVER do again on a daily car) on Eibach Sportlines with the Eibach shocks/struts and J&M Caster/Camber plates. 5-speed sure makes her fun though, nothing like nailing it in 3rd gear doing 45 coming out of a corner and feelin a touch of slide then jammin 4th. Doesn't quite compare to my "Ace up the sleeve" '69 Roadrunner with a 440 tho :D

Brother... I've just watched all your DSM videos from when you bought it to now in a row while working... I don't even know how many hours I have been listening to you, hahaha. And then it hit me, how am I not subscribed yet? I hope to one day take the same road, always had a soft spot for the Eclipse ( freaking love the Z as well)... In 1991, My father started looking for a new car, started by looking at many used cars but, eventually ended up at a Plymouth dealership but, the salesman made a remark the upset my father, then, went to see a Eagle Talon but, My Father ended up purchasing a White 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse G.S. with red interior & all the years of fun we had in that car was priceless! I WISH MY FATHER WAS STILL HERE!!!!

This setup is a lot like mine, I haven't driven a lot of cars but this is by far the best handling car i've driven.
I'm also on megan coilovers, the difference on my end is I have fender flares so I have 25mm spacers on the front and 35mm on the rear, which feel pretty nice when driving, DC strut bats on front and rear, and an RM rear seat bar to make the car neutral around the turns, all of this makes the car have extremely low body roll, and an absolute blast to drive.

If it has messed up anything, I have not noticed, but I haven't pushed it to the max through a turn, there are no circuits in Tennessee unfortunately. But I would like to at some point,
The car has actually been out of commission for 7 months while I was building a 2.3 for it, I started it for the first time a week ago and everything is going great!!!

The 1g and 2g have very different suspension designs, but in my 1g I can tell you that it did not like it when I stiffened the fronts all the way with my coilover setup. I noticed a lot more understeer when I did this, and I have very sticky tires on my car with a Quaife front LSD. I backed it off to somewhere around half to 3/4 stiff and it was a lot happier. For the rear, a stiffer setting will reduce understeer as well. I run mine with a tiny bit of toe-in just for straight-line stability, but I can't say if that would make a difference in the steering response, these cars just aren't known for having tight steering...you get an EVO if that's what you're looking for.

Great video, just love POV drives of the Eclipse, got one myself lately but theres alot of work needed unfortunately (in part cause of the german Tüv..) I gotta dumb question though, what exactly are the 3 buttons on the sunvisor doing? Couldnt figure it out so far.
The three buttons on the sunvisor are programmable for garage doors and gates. I believe it’s called home link. If you search it on CZcams there’s a nice tutorial on how to program it.

In my experience the BIGGEST thing you can do to improve the performance in the mountains is the brakes, I was able to be so much more confident and fun in the mountains when I upgraded to evo 8 brembos

Lug nuts get tighted in a star pattern to make sure the wheel is flat on the hub. Doing it in a circle can make the wheels lock out and not flush with the hub.
Thanks mom. I was re torquing them after installing and tightening in a star patterns so I seriously doubt it matters. Plus show me a NASCAR team that installs a wheel and tightens the lugs in a star pattern. I think its hilarious that you watched the video and of all the things to comment on that is what came to mind.
He obviously knows that mate! He's just doing a bolt check to make sure everything is nice and tight before he takes her out for a rip!

got 6 of my 7 tickets in az. fuck that place :D - all in dsms. my first one was a camera in tempe asu right off the freeway, didnt know it was there, was doin 50 or so still and the recording of it online they send you was hilarious. could see me brake hard soon as I saw it, then the moment the flash went off I was right back on the gas rofl.
I dont pay those. I throw them in the trash when they come in the mail. 😂🙃

You should get a tune I remember my gst being slow but once I tuned it it is no joke the stock turbo is capable of 19psi before falling off but the tune made it 10× more fun to drive
Agree. A tune is definitely coming! Just need to get all the stuff for it and find the right tuner.

Arizona has a lot of performance shops and alot of tuners who will tune a dsm especially if it has ecm link or has a flash able ecu

And I live in cali and I got my gst tuned you just have to look around and talk to the right people
E16g is what theses should of come with from the factory. Does the camera have a g meter?
No G meter that i am aware of.

you plan on doing any simple bolt ons to the gsx yet? Also you should into a actuated downpipe cutout. keep it straight pipe cat back on the streets and downpipe on the backroads. cars looking great though big dawg

Education is typically worth more then a DSM so pry not a bad financial decision.

I've been saying that for 25 years ! These cars are animals for what they are. Questions: what exhaust you running? I hear an open waste gate, do you experience fuel cut? I have a 99 gsx now, want to know what others have
My waste gate is stock. Haven’t made any modifications there.
The exhaust is a Megan downpipe into an SRS catback that I swapped the muffler on. The muffler swap was only for the tip. Everything would sound pretty much the same if you just had the SRS. I have a video on it. Search MOTEC exhaust on my channel and you’ll see it. 👍🏼
@@therealjessescheel got injen cold air with rs blowoff recirculating. Doesn't have that zing as blowing to atmosphere. I do have a full turbo back Megan Racing. Sets off car alarms! Sweet. Keep up the good content!

If your in boost not good. But the tank is tiny for weight purposes so that plays a role in it.

Legend has it, after this he had 2 months of repairs because its a DSM and they fuckin break every time you drive them

I may upgrade the turbo in the future but it wont be a 16g. Channel will have to grow quite a bit more before I do an upgrade like that.
