- The time has come to part ways with the channels favorite cast member. As much as I like to make content that the viewers enjoy I also have to be responsible with my personal finances.
I love this car. Cheaper ones are found frequently but always look like crap and barely run if they run at all. I have no regrets buying it.
The timing was perfect as a drunk driver just plowed through my driveway totaling both of my cars.

Congrats on the sale, Jesse. She was a beauty and glad it went to a pretty cool new owner too. $17k cash is fair and very doable. I used to own a red 2GB GSX 20 years ago, had the 6bolt swap done, fully built and was red and stock appearance. Sold it to finish college, started a career, bought a house, got married, had two kids…. But now that many of us OGs from the 90s are hitting our “mid life” crisis, $17k is fair for running and still in great condition. Once we move and finish our new build, I should have a 4 stall heated man garage and one spot will be for a red 2gb.

Congrats on the sale bro! I have a 1998 (final year) Talon TSI AWD with 17k miles and a boatload of high quality mods and people still try to tell me it's worth nothing. They are called "haters" for a reason. Keep doing you and have fun other there.
honestly bro as a newbie DSM guy i dont mind miles on car i care about the condition of the car more id buy a high miled minty car over low mile and not as clean as a higher miled version.

I must admit, I'm impressed you got that price for the car. Not because it isn't worth it, but because there are so many brokedick people in the DSM community. It's a desirable car with tasteful mods, and the overall used-car market is on fire right now, so congrats to you.

What I’ve learned the past couple years is that you can sell anything even if the price is not reasonable to most. Sold a car for 9k and three owners later bought it for 16k lol it’s definitely possible to get asking prices
You were asking for a fair price and have documents and videos proving it’s value that I would have bought that GSX and I already have a stock 99GST.

I had a 96 gsx that i bought for $3400, replaced the radiator, coolant hoses, turbo, intercooler, BOV and put new tires on it and got $6k and it was much more of a shit box lmfao, glad you were able to get out what you put in

Honestly $17000 seems fair in my opinion, especially after the rebuild you did on it! It’s like the Integras rn; they can be worth $10-25k for a clean example (depending on trim). People who thought that was ridiculous are probably mad they don’t have the $17k to buy it. 🤷♂️

I saw that shit on the Forums. I paid 5k for one with shit but fixable Rockers. When I bought mine two years ago called up like 5 shops they all said DSM owners don't wanna pay. I was like I got 1k to get things going and money didn't even work.

FB scabs always think they know better. Even if you priced it at $50k, that's your choice and your value of it, along with whatever people end up paying for it. The 95-99 GSX isn't easy to find anymore + in good/running condition. Sad to see it go, but I'm actually thinking of fixing mine up and doing the same thing with a $15-$20k price.

If you can afford to buy something and aren’t worried about anything than why not eh! I’m kind of in the same boat looking for a clean title fully built SRT4 lol, I don’t mind spending a bit but also not trying to throw money away at the same time! @@therealjessescheel that is insane I couldn’t imagine spending that kind of money for that car, it must have been brand new zero miles with the plastic still wrapped for that price and then some lol I ended up buying a MK6 GTI bagged on rotiforms, stage 2+, DSG, just got all major maintenance done, timing chain/tensioner, motor/trans mounts and much more so hopefully it’ll be good to me till my next toy!
Don’t judge the whole group based on those guys. A clean 99 is worth whatever someone will pay. You turned me on to the AVID.1s and inspired me to get back to work on my projects. I do love the call out/throwin the shade back though, good stuff!

Loved the DSM. It's the reason I subscribed. Not like losing my subscription would hurt at all, but I stopped watching the buying and selling CZcams channels a while ago. I primarily watch the channels where the owner stays with the same car or adds a new car. This buying and selling for a ridiculous markup is getting old and boring.

I sold my mint red 1gb awd with 100k miles on it for 6k.....bought it for 550.00 4 years ago not running. Made 4k profit on it. Sometimes it just comes time to sell, I don't hate you for it at all. I'm 5,10 and the 2g is a bitch for even me to get into let a lone a guy that's 6ft plus. Liked your dsm content, not really much out there for dsm love but it is what it is.

i delt with the same shit when selling my 98 low mile low rust (non on towers) gsx and my 6 bolt swap gst making about 500 on pump 93. i do think 17000 was a bit much but you got it so congrats. i got 6 for mine but i kept the wheels. if anyone has a clean 2gb gsx lmk
