This worked like a charm. Thank you for the simple concise instructions. I had to try a couple times and then once I cycled through the eight times ignition on and off quickly with no space in between the locks reset and I was able to program my key fob. Thanks!
I owned a Mazda tribute 2004 Aus model and this procedure won’t activate the programming cycle until eventually I figured out the difference which is the driver side door should be open and the rest of the steps are the same. Anyway I’m happy that my new remote now works perfect. Thanks

I purchased a set of 2 fobs from Amazon for my 2003 Mazda tribute months ago but couldn't get them to work, I was about ready to paint my old fob buttons so I could remember which button did what but thanks to your genius i can now make the original my spare. Thank you!
Thank you... great explanation and nothing extra. Programmed mine the first time. Only thing to add would be to leave key in "on position" on 8th switch forward, then locks will cycle. Then hit button on remote to program. THANKS THANKS THANKS!
For learning how for people watching, you could have pressed the button on each remote to program. I know it was already done, but saying you only have ten seconds, then not doing it, increases the stress level of folks trying to fix this issue. Please remember, most vehicles will only store the frequency of a total of 4 transmitters. The first transmitter will be removed or “Bumped” from memory. So if this vehicle requires 5 family members, one may have to share. Your vehicle may vary, but this is common practice by engineers. The may change frequency, include rolling code or even relearn procedure but normally do not increase memory as to not re-invent the wheel. Many parts are used over span of 8 -1 years. Example, the PWM modulation cooling fan controller that is mounted where 265 degree F air from radiator cooking the metal oxide field effect transistors inside. When all the needed to do, was include an 16” longer wire harness and mount it behind left front headlamp. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired
All of these key fobs break at the ring. While designed to replace a battery, the case unsnaps. Cutting the broken prices off can be done with many hand tools. As long a it works and has a fresh battery, fix a new ring with a cotter pin sold a parts stores and home improvement stores. Bent it almost flat to fit in the case without interfering with case half clips or electronics. It can be set with epoxy to hold it firmly. Install battery once epoxy has cured, snap half’s together and reprogram if needed. Just a thought of saving $40 - $285 for another key fob may or will make you a hero at home. ASE Master Tech-Retired

I go through each step and it works with each fob unlocks/locks up to the point that I open the door when finished...AND THEN I get out of the car and shut it and ONLY the original fob continues to work. Thoughts? I'm trying to program 3 fobs. Is it weird that it works when I'm still in the car, and when the door is open, but NOT when I shut the door??? Help???
That is definitely strange . I have read through others comments , that they had to perform a slight variation. Example might be leaving the door open vs having it closed . Seems like I rememeber reading a comment where they did everything the same except for one thing. Wish I could be more help. Thanks for watching.

There may some variations such as leaving the door open vs closing it . If you perform the procedure the key needs to stay in the on position on the 8th cycle. You should here cycling of the locks. When attempting to program the fobs by hitting unlock within 10 sec there should be a confirmation cycling also. If the confirmation isnt present there may be an issue with the keyless module itself. It was a really cheap set from ebay . They are still working to this day . I do not remember the original ones I had purchased but they have many to choose from on ebay. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

Yes , and it should lock drivers on the 2nd time pushing lock button.
I tried on mine but it didn’t work for me. When I cycled the key the locks didn’t engage so I must have a problem with mine

Ok so some how I made the lock button be the unlock button and vice versa

My unlock and lock switch doesn’t work. I have to put the key in the ignition for me to unlock my doors could there be a problem with my switch.
