Arrow 24 in English:
The Finnish Army will carry out exercise activities across Finland between the end of April and the beginning of June. The Finnish Air Force will support the Army’s exercises during the spring by hosting Allied helicopter detachments in Finnish air bases. The Army mechanized exercise Arrow 24, led by the Armoured Brigade, will involve British attack, multirole and transport helicopters. The exercise will take place at the Pohjankangas firing range and training area in Niinisalo.
The helicopter detachment operating from Pirkkala Air Base will consist of six British Army AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and approximately 130 soldiers. Satakunta Air Wing will provide host nation support to the deployed helicopter detachment.
The helicopters will fly from Pirkkala Air Base daily, mostly between 8 am and 4 pm. The flights are mainly directed to the Pohjankangas firing range and training area in Niinisalo. During the Finnish Army’s exercise activity in the spring, helicopter operations will also take place in other parts of Finland.

What is Apache AH-64E?
The Boeing manufactured Apache 64E is a twin-engine, tandem-seat helicopter designed to accomplish a variety of operations at day or night, in a range of climactic conditions.
Primarily designed to find and destroy air defence units, tanks and armoured vehicles, it is armed with a 30mm automatic cannon, wing-mounted 70mm Hydra rockets and Hellfire missiles.
The AH-64E flies faster, has a greater capability and range than the Mk1, which has been in service with the British Army since 2001 and proved itself in conflicts in Libya and Afghanistan. It also has improved sights and sensors, allowing targets to be accurately identified and engaged at greater ranges.
It is capable of Intelligence, Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), escort/force protection and Command and Control (C2). Using the distinctive Longbow radar above the main rotor blades, the Apache 64E can detect and classify up to 256 potential targets, display 128 of these to the crew and prioritise the top 16 threats, all in a matter of seconds.
It is also equipped with optical and thermal imaging sights that are used to identify potential targets and pilot the aircraft at night and in low visibility conditions. Range and endurance can be increased using wing-mounted fuel tanks and the new Apache will have a fully integrated Defensive Aid Suite to protect the aircraft and two crew.
The Apache AH-64E has two GE T700-GE-701D Turboshaft engines and is equipped with 16 hellfire missiles, 70 Hydra-70 rockets, 1,200 30mm cannon rounds.

Welcome! It´s been a while since 1919 .
British Army AH-64E👍

When i was little, my friend was British and he always said that...Scottish!
Scotland, the best part!
Flying assault tank ..... welcome!
2 vuotta sitten sanoin työpaikalla että parin vuoden sissään ne Apachetkin lentelee meidän ilmatilassa. Mulle naurettiin.
💪
7 ah64apache helicopter we need send me lunglei farm veng we place here at
These choppers flew too close to each other. Is this some kind of demonstration how to make an easy target?
That's called formation, aka formation flying or flying in formation.
It's too cold in Finland.
In a midsummer? Nah
Satakunta Airwing kuitenkin. Ei aircommand.mut mitäpä siitä . Englanti on muutakin ku qoogle.
Paitsi että se on Satakunta Air Command, ei Wing. ilmavoimat.fi/en/-/satakunnan-lennosto-etusivu-en

Welcome. Attack helicopters and tanks are rather useless these days. Sitting ducks.
Depends on how you use them. Moving slow without any form of cover and using bad tactics makes you an easier target. Tanks and other armoured vehicles will probably recive more protecting from FPV's and loitering munitions. I have not seen many clips of attack helicopters being completely useless yet, I only find it weird when I see Hinds firing rockets in a volley against targets.
@@jbkgjbkg The US Army canceled the Future Attack Reconnaisance Aircraft project, very late (=expensively) and quite suddenly, at that. One can only deduce that the lessons from the Ukraine war caused this 180 degrees shift in thinking. The billions will instead be poured into (smart) unmanned aircrafts of various types and sizes, I imagine. Consequently, the existing choppers will need to serve longer into the future, including AH-64. The sudden end of the Cold War scrapped the RAH-66 Comanche project, so in a certain sense such a cancelation is nothing novel as the ways of war, technology, and strategies change.
@@herrakaarmeHelis are still very important, shown in Ukraine. Russian Ka-52 helicopters outrange manpads and tank guns, they can shoot missiles from ~20km range at enemy tanks.
They have been a problem to modern tanks when advancing in night time open fields, especially in Ukraine where you cant really avoid open fields.
@@fennoman9241 Yes, but that role can be fulfilled by the old choppers quite splendidly. New projects for more active (forward) use for attack helicopters have been subjected to reconsideration.
Ei me tollasia tänne tarvita, edes harjoittelumieles....

Tervetuloa Suomeen Apache helikopterit, ystävät saavat aina tulla meille kylään.
Soiva peli edelleen
