- Performed at The Marciac Jazz Festival, July 2013. The very first collaboration between Sachal Jazz and Wynton Marsalis. The magic of Sachal comes from Baqir Abbas on bansuri (flute). He's a magician with it!

For those that have discovered the magic of my brother #BaqirAbbas via this, here's a montage of him proving that he is simply the greatest #Bansuri (#flute) and #Jazz musician the world has ever known. czcams.com/video/sF5dV9eQoik/video.html. Do subscribe to this other channel QalandarArts as via it we will be launching some jazz events with Baqir in 2020 in London.

Hassan Please turn off Made For Kids , I cannot save to a playlist for enjoyment , also it restricts many many other things for most of the videos on your channel. Thank you for these amazing uploads these guys are amazing. Stay safe from Covid
Hi Hassan! Thank you so much for sharing. I am writing a paper for my jazz class, and cannot find the names of the players in Sachal Jazz Ensemble anywhere. Would you mind stating the names please?
Brought a tear to my eye. Jazz knows no boundaries.
Wynton hit a home run out of the park when he brought this group in play! Music that brings the world together.
like the folks at Playing for Change...
Music is the universal language, it is the uniter.
So do polkas !!
When I thought I heard it all...I found THIS!
Georgina Bakboord You should also listen to their version of John Coltrane's 'My Favourite things' - czcams.com/video/8d9cD_Es9k4/video.html
Well well, thank you for your tip&the link.
I'll prepare myself for this one...I'm gonna listen to this in the evening, enjoying my quality time....and yes, I was stunned! when I first heard Coltrane, so his version of Favourite Things should be something else thank you once more!
Georgina Bakboord Get ready to be blown away this evening then!
Can't wait!! and thank you.!
Georgina Bakboord And when you are done with Coltrane and have 17 minutes spare, here's a montage I have put together of The Sachal Jazz Ensemble - czcams.com/video/KkyA4tisRmk/video.html
What a nice surprise to find this beloved melody interpreted with Indian instruments. How the Western and Eastern musicians blended well here. The percussion especially is great.
5:19 had me cracking up. Watch the reaction that lick gets...
"That was pretty smooth"
😅
Lmao
theyr like "my man" lmao
Didnt he steal their solo? Like u can see just before they were ready to start but he came first xddd
INCREDIBLE! If people got together around music, the world would be a better place.
Makes you wonder why Arts& Music are the first to get cut in public education.
Playing for Change. Check 'em out.
The sound of the flute was extremely nice! 😊
Its a Cloud Flute- from Asia.
It's a bansuri
Such gratitude to the algorithm that sent me here! This is the most amazing thing.
Faço minhas a suas palavras! Bendito algoritmo, de muito bom gosto! ✨🎶🎶🎵
What paradise was this guy raised from because the notes coming from his flute are not of this world! Let it be heard! Mr. Baqir, your music is a blessing!
actual proof that music has no boundaries masters at work
I'm sure Dave Brubeck would love this fantastic tribute to his iconic track
Reportedly, he said that this is the most interesting cover of Take Five that he has listened to.
Shame it was composed by the saxophonist in his quartet Paul Desmond.
Wynton Marsalis and Company has taken "Take Five" to a truly amazing new level . It is absolutely the best rendition that I've ever heard of this Perennial Classic .
This sachal studios rendition. Atleast do some research
The richness of collaboration
My dad turned me on to jazz ...take five is a music hi thanks to music makers like this band
The definition of a masterpiece
You play it in your house and the neighbors complain that’s it’s too loud
The police come and arrest the neighbors😂
What a beautiful Take Five! I love Tabla in it ! Dave Brubeck would be so proud!
OH WOW! That was amazing, it blows my mind watching the musical talent right there. Shoot, I can’t even hum a tune, let alone pick up an instrument! Thank you fellas, what a treat!
"Take Five" is a jazz standard composed by Paul Desmond and originally recorded by the Dave Brubeck Quartet at Columbia Records' 30th Street Studio in New York City on July 1, 1959 for their album Time Out.
Nicely put.
Right. Wynton is wrong to attribute the composition to Brubeck. He should know better.

I find myself coming back to these videos every year and fall in love again. Beautifully put together and I wish I was able to see this live
One of the Most BREATHTAKING PIECES I GAVE EVER HEARD
MAGNIFICENT
:)
Congratulations to our Brothers @ Sachal Jazz - fantastic rendition - Wish You lots of Success on Your Musical Journey. God Bless.
Even without the sax, this cover would make Paul Desmond so proud.
Absolutely wonderful!
What a master piece,and what amazing musicians,delightful!!!!
A great rendition of an amazing tune love this also well done to all involved, i love playing the flute to this
I like this rendition of Take 5. The added instrumentation gives a richer sound to this piece!💕💯
La perfection et la maestria de ces grands musiciens donnent le tournis.
Wonderful.
Chapeau a tous ces gentlemens pour cette fabuleuse partition.
What a concert, it must of been so much fun to enjoy these wonderfully talented gentlemen live!
Absolutely GREAT. I just could not believe how pleasing the sounds and good music came from this group. How lucky I was to found d their videos. Thank you.
The best trumpet and flute jugalbandi👍🙏🙏🙏
I guess its extreamly hard to stay in beat for western instrumentalist with tabala
Hats off to this arrangements
Masterful music Paul had God's mercy that day. Fred douglass
Tabla guys needed to sit out or play more tastefully. Each janra of music could have it’s choruses and not cancel each other out.
Damn right!
@@3345646 I don’t think that would have been his call. However, I do agree.
Brilliant rendition of the great Dave Brubeck. Discovered his music when I was 9 years old . My father would play this piece in the original reel to reel tape. Been fortunate and lucky to enjoy his music.
The same thing as for me. I discovered this masterpiece thanks to my elder brother.
Dave Brubeck would approve! These guys are just fabulous. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Take Five is the
Geeta of jazzy
That's my dial tone
❤😍😍🙏🙏
Wow! Certainly one of the most interesting versions of this wonderful tune I've ever heard. Superb ~ thanks for sharing.
OH man! This is mindblowing performance!
Dave Brubeck was certainly a great guy. I'm always in love in love anybody performing take five.
Gershwin wrote part of this song in my home town of Erie, PA, while staying at the Lawrence Hotel. Pianist in this clip is father of Alan Alda who starred in MASH. Love this rhapsody!
When a band is playing I look at how they all coordinate, no one stepping on another's toes, no individual trying to show or stand out to look the best than the others. Those are who we call professionals. I saw professionals here, they are all HAPPY playing together.
Paul Desmond wrote this to let Joe Morello shine you idiot. WTF is this?
Wow! What an awesome arrangement! Every musician is first rate.
This takes me back to ER Doug riding in his father's Cadillac with Mark, from the TV show ER. This is one of the better takes. Shout out to Paul for giving us this classic
Surely Paul Desmond should have been mentioned as the composer. Wanton should know that, but often times many musicians. such as Dave, get credit because their name is associated with the artist. Many times, and this is often, the great Duke ELLINGTON was credited with songs he did not write, especially in print, when the composer was in fact, Billy Strayhorn.
I agree totally, Paul wrote the entire composition. What is problem with Wynton?
Its like in physics or mathematics beautiful pieces are always aptly remembered by their names, however as I always fondly remember a piece its not the name of creator rather what it involved. #makejazznotwar
Though they were known partners so its more like saying something was written by Paul McCartney instead of John Lennon. (I agree with your overall point about crediting).
I'm referring to Ellington and Strayhorn.
You mean like when you're criticizing someone you should at least spell their name correctly. Nothing like "Wanton" to let everyone know you're really a jazz aficionado....
Love the whole arrangement !This goes to show that there are no boundaries when it comes to Jazz. These cats bring some serious blend into this outstanding standard, right on point. Marsalis's horn solo is magnificent !
Didn't see that coming! Bravo! Two thumbs up!
The limitless sound, the chords are magic experienced by the players and the ears
What an excellent way to start my morning! That was outstanding!!!!
it was actually composed by Paul Desmond the saxophonist, in Dave Brubeck's quartet.
I found it at last, this is amazing.thank you so much for putting this on you tube
Superb version of TAKE FIVE. So nice, lovely sound. So different cultures joined together. Kytra is wonderful.
How could one give this a thumbs down? This is simply amazing.
Tune slows down so much that if it is concidered JAZZ, a thumb down is enivetable. the tabla guy is defintely not a jazz guy. check for yourself the starting tempo...
these are great … glad I found them, thanks.
I discovered the magic of your brother eight years after. Better late than never. Well played indeed.
Breathtakingly beautiful and brilliant!
At around 0:54 he's looking so happy - like "yeah, this is going to be good, and I have the best seat in the room!"...
Fabulous, these guys are the best...
I can listen to it endless!
This is the first time I heard this rendition it's different but I like it thanks to you all keep swinging.
This is so insanely dope
Playing for change is one of this projects. To made a better world.
Enchanting Take 5. Like this so much! Tikhe, achahe!

Awesome interpretation. Perfect cultural mix and harmony. Superb.
Wwwwhouw ! What a great synthesis of West and East .
Absolutely BRILLIANT.
Beyond brilliant. Way, way beyond.
One of the most interesting pieces of popular music, and very nicely played
Simply Beautiful! ❤❤❤
When East and west meet ......we have this beautiful.musical fusion .
Thanks to the Beatles.
Coltrane was there 10 years before any of the Beatles
An excellent interpretation of Paul Desmond's tune.
What a brave piece of work!
This is absolutely fantastic
Definitely composed by Paul Desmond! But what an amazing take on a superb standard. Stunning!
I was hoping somebody gave Paul Desmond proper credit. You saved me from having to do it two years late!
What a great rendition! Awesome job
This is transformative! Thank you!
Outstanding!!!
Where does Marsalis take those notes out?.. His improvisations make me HAPPY! I know and adore this piece since my childhood. I knew the original Brubeck drummers impro by heart, but Marsalis ALWAYS delivers fresh, fantastic, full of joy and splendor….
What a brilliant piece
That was great! Thanks
Take Five... is my bestie ever and forever since... 😍😘😍😘
Awesome fusion!

おおカッコイイ〜!!!

The bonsari goes into a magical place at 04:06 and at 04:16 I can see that the piano is as blown away by it as I am.
Sublime in every way!
BRILLIANT. Congrats all the way.
I love this love, the percussion bouncing around is perfect
