My buddy might be letting me barrow his 440, so excited (I'm coming from dirtbikes, never really riden a sled much except for when I was just a kid around my backyard) these things look awesome, great video!

Had the same sled. The sounds of that engine bring me back.

It's a beautiful sled now, but imagine how slick and revolutionary this machine was back in the 70's. Still my favourite!

Great looking sled - and fast !
Back in the day a buddy of mine had one and it was constantly broke down .

Some things never change. But it ran for 50kms on Sunday without a glitch

      @@SK3HL3R well said !
Having said that , the late 70s produced some damn hot looking sleds but they were really unpredictable and were prone to constant break downs .
The blizzard was a complete piece of shit .
( but I still respect the hell out of all those old sleds )

My first sled I bought was a 1982 LTD 440 duel pipe duel carbs out of the factory. Engine technology of the time had yet to catch up with suspension. Extremely fast but handled like a hay wagon. Miss the sound of that monster when those accelerator diagrams on the keihin carbs kicked in. We called it the arm stretcher. Great sled! Too bad Kawasaki’s were only produced 78-82. Owned a 440 Drifter as well- very reliable and easy to work on. Just had to keep an eye on crank seals. Wish I’d had kept them both!

My brother had a intruder and that thing would hustle! I think he had it up over 90! That's fast for a 79 on leafs and bogies! Well a no suspension slide. I call all them oldies bogies!

Had a 340 and 2 440’s in my time...340 was almost as fast as the 440

This was a great sled! Faster then the Blizzard 7500 & 9500 at the time. Sold mine in 1982.

Uncle had one. It was fast. Beat my 79 440 exciter up top pretty good. Loved my yamaha though. It would get close to 100mph on speedo on ice but not sure how accurate it was. My 400 el tigre would beat it on top end.
