I might choose prime for obvious reasons im gonna mention, I originally wanted Halvor Lines but due to my current financial situation and being THC clean for 4 Months, ive heard you can fail hair follicle tests 8+ clean. I haven't found anything on Halvor Lines which was my original choice a Terminal close to home. I don't wanna lose a career before I start it, any help would be appreciated. Also its important for the industry to know how we feel about such things.

@@JoJo-hi2fx Yeah its possible, I'd recommend shaving your whole body haha head too cause, why not? anything you've touched will remain in hair for a long time even if it stops growing into your hair. I'm with you bro, it seems discouraging, but id recommend watching Truck N Hustle's videos, learn as much as you can about logistics and others mistakes. I've been non stop watching videos trying to learn best ways to get under my own authority.
Look into "Lease to Own" places for trucks, this one checks for credit, but the next two don't, here's the list
Prime won't test for hair, but never call a company they will tell you hair follicle.
I know a famous youtuber that called Halvor Lines and the recruiter said its only piss, but I have a few confirms on Prime being better for that, also Prime Inc has a 50k trainer program that will prepare you.
Or save get your cdl and own authority.
BandmanKevo has a box truck video that shows you everything you need to get started, get your boc-3, UCR, dot numbers, everything you need for your LLC, go do it for free don't pay someone to fill out simple paperwork.
I'm currently waiting on pending charges to clear, even tho they were dropped the justice system decided to bring me back to court even tho they through it out so i'm stuck in Kentucky which isn't my home state. Good luck bro www.youtube.com/@trucknhustle

I did a frito lay apprenticeship program. They pay and send you to a cdl school and while your at cdl school and until your finished with training you get a guaranteed $1300 a week as long as you don't miss any days. Some of its hard work when you have to unload your truck but it's worth it. We just got a bump to 62 cents per mile and get case pay for cases we unload. I average $1500 - $1800 a week. After you get some seniority you get better runs. Home nightly and if you end up picking a run thats an overnight they give you a clc card and you can stay in a hotel. No need to sleep in the truck which is a bonus. Guys who have been here for 5 years are pulling 6 figures easy. I'm on track to make 85k this year alone which is pretty good fresh out of cdl school. But you gotta be willing to put in that work 💪

I did a year and half local at coke then moved to regional hauling potatoes, never hauled a 53ft, never drove a sleeper. I’m almost a year with them and I’m in a glider 389 13spd, and I’ve averaged about .85 a mile since I started. Home about 5-6 nights a week with two days off on weekends. Honestly the best paying jobs that have the best benefits are small local companies imo.

It’s definitely a good place to start if you don’t have much experience. It’s physically demanding, but if you’re happy with 60-80k a year, it can be good. After a year or two, you’ll get on an established route, so you know pretty much every day what you’re doing. It’s good if you have young kids.

That may or may not hold true. You’re generally starting around 3-5 am and most days I was back by 3-4. You’ll have your longer and shorter days. If you have a good manager, you’ll load heavy Monday-Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday will be lighter. I also found working at a satellite, or drop yard, was better because you typically have only a 10-15 drivers, and your relationship with your coworkers, and manager, are better.

I want all the practice and experience in my training phase as I can get. I talked to a Knight recruiter the other day. I have my CDL already but no experience. He said new drivers that already have CDL but no experience have to stay on at least 4 months or they have to pay $2,000.00 for the four week training period.

You need some kind of authorization to work like green card, work permit, etc…Go through commercial driving school for 3 weeks to 6 weeks depending on the school. And then find a company that will hire you for further road training about 1 month yo 2 months. The process is a bit intense but not too hard and it takes about 3 months before you become a professional truck driver. But you need 1 to 2 years of driving to gain experience as a truck driver.
