@@alinkinthechain He has ultimate free will and is indeed in control of his actions, the Awakened Zoans with no sense of self he is referring to are The Jailer Beasts of Impel down, and probably almost Chopper in his monster form (before the time skip he was pretty close to becoming totally devoid of his personality)

And imagine you spend this whole time becoming the strongest warrior in the World Government, and then Luffy uses your new form debut as a way to show off his bakery. Something that very few shounen protagonists have.

I appreciate the fact that they threw in the "Awakened Zoans lose their personality" line to explain the Jailer Beasts from Impel Down. Which is extra funny because every subsequent awakened Zoan has maintained thier perosanlity except Luffy to extent who becomes an overjoyed goon
My favorite thing about Gear 5th animation is that you can choose to draw as little of him as you want, as messy as you want, and as long as he comes back together for a few frames, you're good because he's just a silly cartoon now.
