Stawberry mochi with choco filling :D
I like the different gum they have. I remember when I lived in Japan as a kid they had these different flavored gum like green apple and it came in a rectangular clear tube. I remember the different flavors tasting like the actual fruit! 🍓🍒🍎🍉🍑🍊🥭🍍🍌🍋🍈🍏🍐🥝🫐🍇
Apple pie and cider from Aomori.
sarah could get it any way she wants it from me
Have you guys ever encountered any hojicha-wagashi?
Sarah really shines on info type stuff. Can tell she knows a lot about Japan. Would love to see more of that kind of content from her. X (ps that’s NOT a dig on Emma!!!!)
Yeah, I wrote kinda the same before scrolling and seeing your comment. It would make sense to assume she took some notes beforehand. Emma probably did too. After all, the video needed a direction for different segments. The consistency Sarah comes out at with info makes me think it's planned, but the way it's presented makes me think it's spontaneous. I enjoy it either way :) and I learn!
When I see Emma and Sarah, I already know it’s gonna be a fun video! Sarah’s always coming through with the fun facts! 🍬🍵⛩
The interplay between these two is just really endearing. Strong big sister/little sister energy.
@@rebeccaprendergast8596 Especially with Sarah giving off happy little sister vibes! They’re adorable and so fun to watch!
Seeing an Aussie at a Starbucks is like seeing a unicorn in the wild.
Emma and Sarah eating mochi made me think of making a meme of their faces as the flavour of the been hit them.
When that bean hits, bro
There's a real heat induced chaos energy in this video. Can't wait to hit up these wagashi spots but maybe not in the summer 😅
Kyoto really does have fantastic options for tasty and high-quality sweets, both traditional and otherwise. Seeking out those cool little tea house cafés was a favorite pastime of mine the first few times I visited. But these days, I’m more focused on the sake breweries and brew pubs. (For which there are also fantastic options!🍻 )
For the economy!!!
the guy in the back taking a very serious picture of his sweet just makes me smile for some reason
"...but neither does the party! Heeey" immediately goes into silent library mode. xD
Great editing! Subtle, but had me laugh at the right moments. I love Japanese snacks and these two have a great taste in snacks! Sarah impresses me. How does she know that much about Jpan?
Love when these two host together!! Such great chemistry and personalities! I can't be the only one to ship these two, right? 😅
Emma and Sarah... my favorites
8:59 editor San is amazing haha. Great video guys.
I was like *bruh*
I love Sarah and Emma vids, they make me happy. HAPPY I SAY
This has deffo made me want to return to kyoto and try their traditional sweets, because I haven't had any of them yet! Open the borders for free roam please Japan 🙏
I always tell everyone that drinking Hojicha is like drinking a tea meant for steak. Its very rich and full bodied. Its my fav.
At this point we need more emma, sara, alex and shiori content
Would love to see more of that garden! (Plant Geek Alert!) Emma and Sarah ROCK! Thanks for sharing TC! :D
I love the sweets in Kyoto so much! hehe
hope you guys can try some of these sometime!! 💛
I'm not a fan of green tea, but I love hojicha. I want to try that latte!
The editing at 4:48!!!!!
That ramune jelly dish thingy looks really good. 💙💙
I can feel my sugar level rise just by watching this. Looks great. Thank you for bringing us along.
Emma: You know what Kyoto is famous for?
Me: NINTENDO!
Both of them: Sweets!
Me: Oh yeah. Those as well.
Tbh my reaction was “Matcha”
Name a better combo than Sarah and Emma
My dear soul and friend, this is truly astonishing. What an incredible journey you allowed us to take on, and we truly appreciate it. I find myself struggling lately with anxiety and stress due to being overworked, or mainly I am doing it to myself. No boundaries and hard time to say no. That's all that brings this negativity, but I have been working really hard to gain back control, and not be a slave to these feelings and mindset any more. Your videos have been a true help and peaceful place to regain energy and feel empowered. Thank you so much and wishing you all the best :)
"it's a nice little mouth adventure" loved that description Emma!
never realized kyoto was known for its sweet thanks for teaching me something new TC!
You 2 are my FAV :D keep being awesome and sunny!
I'm in Kyoto right now 😁, I'll try these out tomorrow, Thank you guys 😊
Thanks for sharing that last cafe! I don't see a lot of people on CZcams talk about Gion (probably because filming issues), which is sad since I really want to see and learn more about it. The history of Geisha fascinates me so Gion has been on my list of places to go in Japan for years now.
The neat thing about that cafe is it looks like they use a lot of soy in their sweets like their no bake cheese cake is soy! So for someone who is lactose intolerant...that is SO good to hear lol.
Loved the video! Your' episodes are always so fun and uplifting!
I road a bicycle around that palace and it was huge! I knew what I was getting myself into and I wasn't disappointed.
I miss Kyoto so much...
Great energy with you two!
That was so cute! I love the dynamic you two have!! Great video!
Lovely video thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Such a great way to wake up. Thanks girls
Oh mannnn those crispy yatsuhashi are so good. Very distinctly flavored and so delicious.
OMG, the 'MODEM' sound vs *cricketts* when you can't think of the words! Takes me SO far back...
My two favourite ladies
thank you for your hardwork
Nice! I was just eating some (all of them) mini koto cinnamon Yatsuhashi while watching this!
Also I much prefer hojicha it's so flavorful!
Watching Deaimon made me want to go to Kyoto and try wagashi.
I’ve loved your content since many years ago!! ❤️❤️❤️
This whole time. Always. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Looks so tasty! Wish I was back in Kyoto again.
🍡 so sweet
8:16 "it's a nice little mouth adventure" 🤣
Thanks for this! Really interested in wagashi and Kyoto is also one of my fave places ever. For sweets, I love anmitsu with matcha ice cream. I’ve never been to any cafe or restaurants in Gion ‘cause it’s a bit intimidating and i can’t really tell which are shops and which are private residences. Will definitely check out the ones you featured here when it’s already safe to travel again.
All the sweets ya'll had were so yummy!
You two are soo cute
i love hojicha!
Loved to watch your video. I really miss visiting Kyoto. I have been going about once a year until 2019 and now a visit is long overdue... Have you been to Mo an cafe? I really love it for it's remote location in the middle of the wood and beautiful views🙂
PINE TREE 🌲💕💕💕
In Uji, I had this layered Matcha dessert in a bamboo shoot and it was UNBELIEVABLE! I can't remember how many different layers of sweets there were in it but I need to go back to Japan just for that!
love ur earrings Emma 😍
I think it’s nice that they finally placed boundaries for tourists in Gion.. it is rather unpleasant to have a camera shoved in your face 24/7 when they are just trying to work. If I’m correct, you have to ask them first if a photo is ok.. they’re busy people so they don’t always have time for pictures :) glad they are keeping their culture alive
I would love to see an “Omiyage Guide” video! Where you make recommendations of your favorite things to get from cities/prefectures across Japan. (Price and store to buy it at would be an additional bonus).
Sweets for the sweet!
😃
yatsuhashi is actually the mochi sheet by itself. The filled is a variation called otabe.
Ooo...the Imperial Palace sweets joint looks beautifully uncomfortable! I want those chairs for no one to sit in. Also fun to see Sarah reminisce. It almost feels like she went "home". And I wanna try Yu-Mochi! Looks like a great little snacky.
A TC video wouldn't be complete without the "low brow" humor and yeah, I laughed at that.
And what is the fine for taking a picture of Maiko or Geisha in Gion?
Kyoto is definitely on my bucket list. Thank you TC for showing a bit more of it other than the usual super popular tourism. Great work!
9:01 That cracked me up! 🤣
Soft yatsuhashi is actually called Nama-Yatsuhashi. It's nama (生, raw) as it is not baked. Yatsuhashi always refers to the hard one.
Bow wowwwwww! I'm basic and like black thunder chocolate 😅😅😅😅
Everything looks amazing I love Japanese sweets... anything similar to mochi has my heart
9:05 Giggity giggity giggity! I am jealous of that hard candy
Hojicha is the goat for me as well
Nooooo that fallen parfait blooper hurt me!
Going to Starbucks tomorrow. I will give it a go at a Hojicha Tea Latte. Then on to our China Town for a little lunch. Love living in California 😊Starbucks is across from my apartment. Sending Love from SanDiego to the both of you. Have Fin. Stay Safe. 😊
Thank you! Hope you had a great day out! 😄
sweeeet
Houjicha is the best....It's hard to get it here, but I have a nice supply here by now :)
I'd like to try a maiko or two
There are Japanese snacks AND Australian snacks in this video XD
Emma: _chew chew_
Sarah: "It sounds good next to my ear"
new kink unlocked?
Japanese inspired ASMR
9:03 that's what she said
Hey! Just wondering how much was each dish?
The hard ones almost cost me a few teeth some years ago, not sure if they are always THAT hard but dang it was almost impossible to break them
@9:03 Who did this edit! 🤣🤣 You're wildin'!
Aww. My list of sweets to try in Japan just gets longer and longer ...
Love your videos but really wishing production quality was focused up on a bit more. Audio can be dicey and it's not always crystal clear HD. Always really fun, though!
9:03 Sarah: “I like to suck it a little bit, then bite it.”
[Insert Futurama Snu Snu Uncertainty meme here.]
hi!
Did anyone else see the Gion cafe garden background and think of Dogen's house?
I want someone in my life to want me as sarah wants emma
Hello sweet girls!
It seems Sarah has a crush on Emma. It’s cute. I’m probably wrong.
does sarah swing the other foot? She kinda gives the vibe. Nothing against it. Just curious
There's some older videos you should see.
I always forget that they are not the same person.
Where is Sarah from? Is she Australian as well?
Sarah is my favorite Japanese sweet :) oh and dango 💕
She's Australian so this doesn't make any sense, mate
9:02 ayo
Oh no the dairy lol.. I have thr same issue with dairy
At 17:10 that whole exchange reminded me of that vine with the guy and his free taco: czcams.com/users/shortsLMdtYZFTvhY?feature=share
So the tradition is old enough to date to when Japan was still called wa?
lol 9:03
Deaimon anyone?
Mouth Adventure.
sooooo yall....um...💅 perhaps?
TC budget is out of control. They are able to rent out the entire area to shoot without people. 😅
lol, but😭
She seemed more british in this video hmmmm
