It is so good to see Tim on your channel! I have followed him since his very first video...and I greatly admire him! Tim and I met up a couple of years ago while he was beginning his travels. As you know, we all have the same van....a Toyota Sienna. I always watch his van videos, since he has so many good DIY ideas. He is a great handyman, and has lots of skills for making and fixing things. I love his can-do attitude and his friendliness for all. Good interview....thank you for bringing him on your channel!

Lol! I just said to myself that I think I'll stick with minivan for camper life because I get more bang for my buck! Then I clicked this video and that's the 1st thing you said "more bang for your buck" so, that's a sign to me that I will buy a minivan and not a cargo van. Thanks for awesome video!
That particular model of the Toyota Sienna is probably the best one to this day. They're so reliable! I plan on buying a 09 Toyota Sienna AWD model then convert it into a camper. I gotta sell my Nissan Xterra first. I have no problem living out of a vehicle, paying rent in Jersey is so ridiculous I'm done with that stress.
Yes, this particular 3rd generation of Sienna has very reliable engine and transmission as long as you do proper maintenance on it.

That is great. I used a 2007 minivan as a single person camper for several years. It was great, however about the 4th or 5th year I noticed that the headliner was beginning to come down because of the moisture from sleeping in the van. So, to make it really work you have to replace the headliner with something moisture proof.
I used that cheap Moisture Eliminator from Dollar Tree to catch the majority of it. Plus, I leave the vehicle wide open during daytime to ventilate the moisture out. It's been over two years and no issue with the headliner yet!🤞

Tim has some great ideas. His toilet is a very smart design since it's multipurpose and folds down to nothing, so much better than space hungry buckets or even collapsing buckets. Thank for sharing your creativity and a salute for your service.

Knowing that I'm heading back to college, I'm watching these videos with a new perspective. Using the storage tower for cooking supplies is a good hack, I might try that in my dorm! Before, I just had random cooking supplies around the room 😅
3:23 the tip about potential car crashes is good - I hadn't even considered moving vehicular safety when parked. But yeah, at any point, you can still get in a crash bc of other folks.

toyota siennas seem to be very popular for conversions. i am looking at a mazda cx5 but ive taken notice
Don't sleep on the Odyssey it's roomy enough to fit a twin XL adjustable bed
It is worth the extra cost for unmatched liability. Chrysler and Honda minivan are viable options as well with minor electrical issues.

Start small and build your way up. Scout out the places you want to go and look at them on the maps app.
