RC cars have come a pretty long way... these WR8 fluxes handle like crazy. All wheel drive, tons of power, and infinitely tunable suspension... so wild! So with all the shop space in the back of the HRD HQ, sometimes we set up a little course for them. Around real racecars, of course.

I've always been a fan of Ken Block from when I first heard of him in Top Gear when he was introduced by James May as the "Man who cannot drive straight" and late last year when I heard he was coming to Carnival city, Johannesburg I had to be there. Seeing him drifting his mustang and all covered in tire smoke, what an experience. Sadly I could not get an autograph or a handshake but I was happy to see him live. The stuff that you are doing, the videos, Gymkhana it's all great. I wish I could have an experience in your passenger seat doing your thing.

Bro you can make your own. It’s just a plastic body fitted over a rc car and a matching livery. In kens case over a hpi chassi. Just a suggestion.

Tokin you could just buy a 4wd slash and convert it to anything more bang for your buck because you can go drifting change it into a rally truck and then into the ultimate snow vehicle but yeah either way it’s worth it for the hpi version or not

Tip when jumping, RC cars are light enough that braking in air will REALY flip it. Use your throttle to keep it level, or even purposefully use a mix of throttle and braking to perform completely controllable flips.

They're expensive because they're high-end hobby-grade models. And I honestly wouldn't even try running this particular car around inside a house, it's WAY too fast for that. If you want something cheaper and more indoor-friendly, you might want to take a look at the 1/18th scale version based on HPI's Micro RS4 platform if you can find one, rather than this 1/8th scale E-buggy based model.
I have the gymkhana 6 body for my WR8. It’s one of if not my favorite rc cars to drive. I am still in disbelief at the news. Thanks Ken.

I’ve got a slab 4x4 that I am planning on swapping to 1/8 motor and esc on some 1/10 monster truck tires, should be a monster
@@jacklougheed4561 A 6s 1/8th motor/esc will make it a monster. I did that with my slash 4x4, possibly does around 50 mph on stock gearing standard height.
The torque pushes it through water like it's a joke. Tightened slipper clutch. Slight slippage at dead stop full power, but nearly instant grab and launch. Slight roll, instant full torque and acceleration.
Fun on track, fun offroad, fun speed running down roads. DIY drift tires for drifting. Besides rock crawling, it's all around fun.
The sidewinder 8th from castle creations will fit into the slash 4x4. Youll need to get a little creative fitting the esc. The motor should fit right in. You will likely see the few things you'll need to do to make it work from there.
I have a rustler 2wd with a 1/8 system. The thing is a complete animal on 4s

@@whistlinzdieselrc9666 Ok...but the truck is a bit of a rip-off. It costs 850+ euros at least where I live. Call it 950 with the charger. For that money you can assemble an actual race legal buggy that is far more superior than the udr and you can race it in official efra/ifmar races, not just buzz around with it in your backyard.

Used to race 1/10th scale electric in the late 90's. HPI were always regarded highly for their road cars, always wanted one.
Once in a while I get a look at the current stat-of-the-art and I'm always blown away by how far things have come.
The only thing I have to say, though, is: pre-built! WTF!? ;)
