- Here in Part 2 of my trip to the Cairngorms, where I finally get to photograph the crested tit after many hours of searching and miles of walking, I was rewarded with just a brief couple of minutes with the crested tit.
On another bright and sunny day it was time to get the K&F concept magnetic filters onto the lens where I used the ND8 filter to video a Buzzard that had perched on top of a fence post.

The final day was the day in which we went to the top of the mountains looking for the ptarmigan once again, also on the lookout for mountain hares with plenty of tracks around but unfortunately no sightings, yet the ptarmigans were everywhere and we managed to get some fantastic photos and video footage of these lovely mountain birds.

Thanks @shalom2253 glad you enjoyed the video take care 👍
Beautiful images!! Thanks for taking us along!🙂
Thank's Trish 👍😀
Great series of videos, really enjoyable, I would much sooner watch people finding wildlife in the natural habitat than watching someone in a paid hide.
Great stuff👌🔥💯
Absolutely agree. Even though there are times when wildlife seems scarce, it's important to appreciate the journey and the thrill of the chase in their natural environment.
Great trip! Thanks!
I hate rent-a hide, But If you are spending anytime in the Strath area, the first thing you have to do is put up a few feeders, particularly near Glenmore, and periodically visit them for Cresties. It will not be long before they find them. I have them there every year.
Wow! Just gorgeous! Can hardly believe what I've just seen! Had the time of my life seeing that Mountain Hare, yawning, twitching, preening... up so close. Man o man :) :) :)
Great shots, a reward for the great effort! Seeing that hare so close i wonder if that's a no hunt area or he is just more trusty.
Many thanks for your comment, yeh I think they have put a ban on hunting the mountain hares around the Cairngorms now, I may be wrong just what i heard though, but yeh great to be so close and trusted.
Good morning,
Thank you for these beautiful pictures.
Victor from France.
Great vid and photos loved it all especially the Crested Tit in the trees, but all great look forward to the next adventure Ashley 👍
Looking forward to this one…..
Excellent,really enjoyed this one!
Wow absolutely stunning
Great video again , thank you
Wow was that yawning hare not the best 😊…..great videos and photos.
Stunning stuff Ashley 👍🏽 Great stills and footage, and the presentation of your Cairngorms trip is superb. Thanks for bringing us along Mate 📸
Glad you enjoyed it, Lee, something a bit more local next I think 😜👍
@@WildlifePhotographerUK 📸👍🏽
I'm loving your videos lately. You are improving as a presenter all the time and seem very relaxed in front of the camera and much more confident over all. the yawning hare was the hightlight lol they are just a big hamster aren't they lol
Hi @tonyfluertynaturephotograp5272, many thanks for your comment, yeah I'm starting to settle in a little more to the CZcams videos, and being in front of the camera, takes a while to to build up that confidence and relate to the audience, a massive learning curve that's for sure. Yep thoroughly enjoyed this trip, the hares and the ptarmigan were great, looking forward to my return at the end of February for hopefully some more fantastic wildlife Adventures, in the Cairngorms.
I saw my first ever Crested Tit in Devonshire Road Rock Gardens. Could have saved yourself a bit of fuel going there. 😂
Sadly no ptarmigans. However you may never know wandering round Stanley Park.
Have you considered doing a calendar for 2025?
Have a chat with Stephen about his experiences of calendars on his channel.
BTW the cinematography and photography was sublime.
Cheers for your comment Frank, well if there's a Crested tit on Devonshire Road I'll eat my hat, was that recently or like 10 years ago, anyway yes I'm doing a calendar for 2025 once I managed to get some decent pictures together. Glad to enjoyed the video and onwards with the next one👍
@@WildlifePhotographerUK Yep, this summer. I was walking my pooch and these two Twitchers pointed it out. It moved very very very quickly. Sadly I did not have my camera with me, just my drone in its bag.
great catch with the Hares! What Fjällräven trousers are you using and how are they in the wet & snow?
Hi @Karkawry1970 many thanks for the comments, the pant i have are the Barents Pro Hunting Trousers, they are ok, but the best pair of pants i have that are windproof and waterproof are the AVAIL TROUSERS BY SEELAND www.gboutfitters.co.uk/products/avail-trousers-by-seeland?_pos=1&_sid=2cd66031b&_ss=r&variant=43074756804861 so comfy and warm and another pair, a recent purchase were NEW FOREST PERFORMANCE FIELD TROUSERS www.newforestclothing.co.uk/products/new-forest-clothing-performance-field-trousers I could not believe how great these are and at that price, it was a must.
Top video Ashley 👍👌
I also photographed the confiding Hare but weather conditions unfortunately stopped me getting to see the ptarmigan
Hope all goes well with the coming year and your workshops mate 👌
Cheers Ray, yeh I am heading back up to the Cairngorms at the end of Feb hopefully there will be more snow, and I will get the shots of the hares in the mountains against the white background. 👍
