This was when Comedy on TV was Comedy. People laughed at this and loved it. And then some day, people were offended by the same Comedy that they laughed at last week. Married... with Children was and STILL IS AWESOME! Plain and Simple.

Married With Children was the show with alot of hilarious moments that push the envelope and imagine a housewife from the midwest in 87 tried to get it cancelled which made the series huge and memorable.

The Bundys were brutal to each other! But if anyone outside the family ever messed with a Bundy, the other would be right there to back them up.

They had quite a bit of contempt for one another, usually for multiple reasons.
Yet at the end of the day, no matter what, familial loyalty mattered to them all.
I can say the same thing Archie Bunker. , The Sandford's and the Jefferson's.....NONE of them degraded their family the way that Al Bundy did. He was a disgrace and he got what he prayed for.
I remember late nights watching this and my face hurting from laughing so hard.

You can always tell which man relates most to each joke. The man hiding his face at 3:54 for example empathized deeply with Al in that moment.

Marcy (actress Amanda Bearce) wrote most of the "chicken" jokes herself. And the fat women in the show mostly vied for the honor to be insulted, as it gave their acting careers a boost.

If you guys think watching “Married With Children” on tv was funny, you should’ve been in audience. Between 1988-1992 I went to see this show being filmed 8 times. It was a lot of fun just standing in line to get into the studio because it was crowd of people that either loved to party, or people that were funny. You would always see a lot of stoners there, and my friends and I usually went home with some weed that we scored from someone we met there. It was kind of bizarre how many parents would bring their kids, but at least they were there to have a good time. That was what was so great about the show: it wasn’t ever serious or dramatic, it’s only purpose was to make people laugh. Even the fat women who got insulted in most of the episodes were having a good time, most of them were actresses or comedians, and just being on this show was a huge boost to anyone’s career because it was extremely popular.
Thats cool, wish we had that opportunity to be in that audience Mike.. this show definitely had a certain type of people that watched it. Good times

Al Bundy was an absolute legend during the 90's early 80's I remember waking up early mornings just to watch the show since it aired early in the morning shows like this don't exist anymore because of today's society you should watch this show it's really good great reaction he and Marcy often went at each other all in good fun of course I love how her husbands would love at Al's jokes behind her back classic

Ed O'Neil aka Al Bundy is an excellent actor. Because he played Al for 10 seasons on Married with Children and Jay Pritchett on Modern Family for 11 seasons. Both his characters are polarized opposites. Interesting fact is that his character, Al was a high school football star while Ed was signed undrafted free agent for Pittsburg Steelers in 1969. But he was cut from the team after Ed competed for a spot with "Mean" Joe Greene and LC Greenwood. Greene and Greenwood joined Steelers that became known as the "Steel Curtain" Hall of Fame QB, Terry Bradshaw guest starred on both his series: MWC and Modern Family.

Like Sophia Petrillo at The golden girls , like Niles from The Nanny . Love very much all of three characters . So clever burnings ! The script is fantastic ! In the last top ten scene , is so ruthless with Marcy . He gives pain , as hell !
Most of the "offensive" joke about Marci were written by the actress herself.
It’s the “with every bullet so far” for me personally 😂😂😂Also, people think “Roseanne” was the first blue collar show about poor people, but Married With Children walked so Roseanne could run. The 90s was a grand time to be alive. Love your reactions guys❤

Everyone says MWC would be cancelled today but I don't think so. Not when shows like South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, etc are still going strong. People would have a problem with it for sure but the show would do what they did back in the 80s when people tried to cancel it then... they'd ignore them

Marcy invited everyone of the main cast but Al and Bud to her wedding.
She thought Ed and David (the actors of Al and Bud) would 'giggle' at the sight of two women kissing... but they both said they didn't think like that at all and would have been respectful like everyone else.
Some people can't Separate Actors from Characters I guess... or take a joke even when it's towards a character, not them personally.

@@TheBr3akRoom It is true, Ed O'neil said he was Mad about it because he felt she was confusing him with Al Bundy. The wedding was in 2010 I think. It was during the Modern Family run so it was 'news' for a week.
