Underrated, but the Yankees reliever who should've got an all-star nod is Luke Weaver. Dude has been absolutely fantastic out of the pen this year. A WAR of 1.2 compared to Holmes' WAR of 0.5, and all his numbers are great. Plus, you gotta give credit to how he reinvented himself and has thrived in his new role.

There’s more deserving pitchers than both. Guys like Craig Kimbrel, Jansen, Munoz, Gaddis and Jax have all been playing better than Holmes.

Luis Gil is a surprise snub. There were talks of him starting rather than being left out.
He’s had a bad last few starts though
Gil had a 6.45 era in the month of June and a 4.22 so far this month
His numbers are currently similar to Kutter Crawford's after a terrible series of starts for him. His recent performance unfortunately tanked his worthiness for the honor.

I got a question. I listen to fantasy baseball podcasts. They refer to expected metrics a lot for pitching and seem to base everything on them. What about a guy who can just straight up pitch. Knows the game, can locate, use his pitches correctly. Andrew abbot is a good example. Keep saying “he can’t keep getting away with this “. Am I wrong in thinking he can because he’s just a good, smart pitcher raised around baseball. Tyler anderson over performed 2022 while on the dodgers all year they had him doing something right
I’d have liked to see Tayler Scott with a nod. RP with the most innings and one of the lowest ERA’s, not counting RP that have had starts

I think Irvin should've made it over Abrams for the Nats, because Lindor should be in the All Star game. That way Christian Walter gets the spot for Pete. I'd even replace one of the Phillies relievers for Kyle Finnegan, he's been pretty lights out for Washington!
Nimmo should be in over merrill, teoscar, and Reynolds. He is better than all of those guys. Walker over Alonso, obviously. The three best nl shortshops are Abrams, Winn, and Lindor. Irvin should be in over Skenes, Iminaga, and loads of other players. The fan and player vote just screws everything up.

Maybe a little biased, but I feel Nick Lodolo not even getting any love in this video is a travesty. Dude has been lights out when on the mound. Hunter Greene also deserved a spot as mentioned
I love Nick Lodolo's stuff, but the fact he's only thrown 70 innings this year would make it nearly impossible to be considered...It's hardly a "travesty" he's not mentioned, unless you're biased. Skenes can make it because the amount of dominance he's shown in his limited innings is undeniable.

It is not snub but rather a travesty on the part of MLB. Everyone involved in it should be ashamed of the fact that a guy like Walker is not selected. At least as a reserve player. Merrill Jackson is picked as a reserve player? What? What are they idiots thinking about? The guy is in top three in both HR and RBIs; he does not miss any games. He is one of the best defending first basemen. I am shocked. I will not going to watch the idiotically based and selected game. It is simply shameful.
