I've just played a 1960 Levin acoustic in my local guitar shop. A simply fantastic instrument. The sound and especially, the playability were tremendous. One of the best acoustic guitars ever, I would say.
Great sounding box! I just purchased a 50’s Levin on EBay, but it’s not a dreadnought, more of a 000 with a slotted peg head. It’ll be my first non-dred but I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it.
There is evidence that Nick Drake used a Levin dreadnought, possibly a LS-18, though whether he recorded using one is anyone's guess. If he did then you're in good company.
Sie yes sir! Alpine is THE best. If you ask me. Tomas Fredholm of fredhomm guitars use that. He built guitar for dan tyminski,bryan sutton aswell i think.

There's a glassy pureness to maple that just can't be replicated.

60s Levins have alpine spruce tops! Apparently in between Sitka and Adirondack. As always beautiful playing!

Wish I had a truss rod in my w32, tone/volume is out of control but strings are too high so I usually just use it for DADFAD and open tunings.
