    Thanks for a really good tutorial. I have been using PowerDirector for a couple of years and, although it has done what I need, it's pretty temperamental. Usually after a Windows Update or some other legitimate change, a PowerDirector problem arises. Some of these have been really tough to find/fix.
    Switching gears, I have used SnagIt since the beginning of time and have nothing but good things to say about TechSmith. I'm pretty sure Camtasia will do everything I need without the headaches.
    Again, thanks for the tutorial. I think I'm going to make the switch.

    Excellent work Eduard. Here is something I am trying to do: I would like to use an Iphone to record a business discussion in a boardroom. The video should start with a transition and a full screed of the business interview, logo of our firm appearing. Then, as we talk, there will be some powerpoint slides to add for a visual confirmation of our points. Perhaps 4-5 slides. How do I go about it? I tried to import the media (the powerpoint slides) and it was unsuccessful, not sure why, I will persist. Do you think that I what I have in mind is easy and can work flawlessly? I am using a bridging software that allows me to select the much better iphone 13 camera vs the laptop built in camera.

    Great video tutorial on Camtasia! Very helpful. The only thing I might add, is for output audio quality on a video export, I tend to prefer higher quality (CD quality) set to 320kbps which is what I like for my wedding video clients. But I guess as long as there is enough clarity in sound this setting might vary.

    Hello, Eduard. This was fantastic.
    I've been using Camtasia since Camtasia 9, so I'm super familiar with the product and comfortable with how it works. That's not my problem. 😆 The problem I'm trying to solve is how to get better at editing Zoom recorded videos using Camtasia.
    I've always heard that one hour of video should take about three hours to edit. I've been editing live workshop recordings that run from 2.5 to 3.5 hours, which should take me around 9 - 11 hours to edit if the 1:3 ratio is true. What I'm finding is that it's taking me closer to 4-5 hours to edit each hour in Camtasia.
    How can I get better, stronger, faster at editing Zoom videos using Camtasia?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @VideoPlastyOfficial
      @VideoPlastyOfficial  Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly there is no ratio. We often spend 100-200h for 1:00 of explainer animation. One minute, for clarity.
      The edit time will depend a lot on complexity of the edits and also your skill level. But honestly as you keep editing and get better and if you keep editing the same kind of videos, you will get so much better at those type of Zoom videos, so keep at it!

    I see you’re using a Mac...on mine I have a few issues and curious if you have the same. 1. System record...mine will not work at all and camtasia has been little help. Did you have the same issue? 2. Anytime I add some video or larger files on the track (layered green screen for example) camtasia seems to not move at same speed. Almost like buffering the video and I am unable to watch in real time as I am editing. Do you see this as well?

    • @VideoPlastyOfficial
      @VideoPlastyOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      1) Record System Audio - I forgot the exact process, but it was very smooth. On install, I had to give Camtasia a couple of permissions to record screen, etc. For System Audio, you had to install some plugins/drivers, but again it was all very smooth from what I remember. TechSmith support should be able to help you with that.
      2) That's somewhat normal. From your description, it sounds like it's having a hard time playing back the video edit. Depending on your machine (computer/laptop) and the complexity of your project, it's actually pretty normal for a video editing software to not be able to play it back in real time, thus the sort of lag/buffer while playing. This is because it has to do so many calculations/effects that take longer than real time playing.
      Other software allow you to lower the preview quality to 1/2 or 1/4 or even 1/8 of the quality for easier preview. With Camtasia, you can't do it. However, there is a solution and it's called PROXY VIDEOS. Check out that part in my tutorial at 28:20 - Proxy Video for better performance

    • @VideoPlastyOfficial
      @VideoPlastyOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      Also, regarding GREEN SCREEN, if you're talking about VFX/live video... nevermind the below message.
      But if you use motion graphics/stock animation - I would suggest you stop looking for green screen items and look for assets that have a transparent background already. Green screen is pretty old and useless in this context, you can now find the same assets that are already transparent and much easier to use/process. You can find a ton of those for example on videoplasty.com

    I really have to question a guy doing tutorials about video filmmaking, especially if he doesn't know how to use a microphone properly nor correctly. Yes, he has a windscreen. But that windscreen is useless because he has his mouth too close to the microphone. The result is a lot of popping and muddy noises being recorded with him talking into the mic.
    A good microphone does not need to be so close to the presenter's mouth during recording. The other thing I noticed is the audio levels were peaking way too hot. If the sound was being channeled through a vu meter there's a pretty good chance the audio will peak in the red, or positive DB zone because the mic input levels were completely wrong.
    His camera placement was very amateur and is a classic example of where NOT to put the camera if filming a presentation. He had himself centered onscreen and it was a fixed static camera with no dynamic movement. He could have easily used 2 or 3 different cameras during this shoot and had a basic video switcher to move between cameras to offer different angle views to make the presentation more interesting and not so boring. I watched less than 3 minutes of the video because there really isn't anything I can learn from this man. I don't recommend his tutorial and guardedly advise to watch only if you want to. But if you are just starting out with video filmmaking, everything that he is suggesting is almost completely wrong and lacks adequate information about proper mic'ing and proper camera placement and use. His lighting was just ok... about the only thing he got right I think.
    Watch him if you want, but take what he says with a proverbial "grain of salt." There are other tutorials far more useful for the wannabe and filmmaker enthusiast that would be far more useful than this one.

    • @VideoPlastyOfficial
      @VideoPlastyOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      I mean... I make simple tutorials about video editing and animation for beginners lol not about filmmaking or cameras. If you're so advanced, not sure why you're watching a Camtasia tutorial for beginners? And 2-3 camera setup for YT? What is this a live TV show? It's a basic home studio for a personal YT channel.
      You do realise the other Camtasia 2019 tutorial I made is the most viewed one on CZcams, so not sure where you're going with this? You're totally right about audio/mic, but other than that, I don't understand the hate.
      Either way, thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
