  • Mark Zuckerberg Apologises to Parents at Senate Hearing | Vantage with Palki Sharma
    America's senate held a fiery hearing over protection of children on social platforms. CEOs of five tech giants including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, X CEO Linda Yaccarino, and Snap CEO Evan Spiegel were present at the hearing. Senators battered the tech leaders accusing them of having "blood on their hands". Mark Zuckerberg apologised to parents of children harmed by social media. But is it enough? Who is responsible for setting regulating social media? Palki Sharma tells you.

    What about these sorry parents who spend no time raising their children and give them cell phones and tablets when their toddlers to keep them quiet. There are middle school children with social media accounts going unmonitered by the parents. Why does a 10 year old have a cell phone with unlimited and uncensored access to the internet? That's not the fault of corporations.

      Whole point is parent don't have complete control over their kids.

I too saw a pregnant mom eating mentos and coke together and the child inside her womb doing a bubble bath in a child channel. I reported and blocked it . Also children waste so many items in their pretend plays or experimentation videos etc . They don't have value for things . There are lot of misinformation told to them like toothpaste and powder mixed gives slime. How will a child be able to distinguish what's right and what's wrong??

    If it was the employees who exposed the kids to nudity, firing the employees is not enough.
    If users of the platform exposed the nudity, it is not justified to fire the employees.
    It looked like Mr Hawley just wanted to draw attention towards Zuckerberg and make him the villain.
    I also do not understand the blame on social media placed by Palki. She makes it look like social media is a different entity and it has an agenda against human beings. She seems to forget that social media is nothing but a digital network of the same human beings that you see everyday. Social media is a much more liberal outlet to people's thoughts. How is it the platform's fault that people's thoughts are nasty?

It's because they deliberately tune algorithm, content , to push or turn the direction of thoughts/ morals/ emotion which inturn effect a child. As a result, a child doesn't matter how good or bad , if consumed products are made to spoil you , and if the child is spoiled tho there supervision of parents ,then isn't the techs responsible? , and mind you , even tho content are published/created by us human , the magnitude of value , and the compounding of that content with determine the future which is deliberately being done , a worldwide level of micro compounding, micro manipulation, micro brain control which in turn is creating this unimaginable problems arising on planet.

    2.Laws should be made to counter such things, this can be done making laws involving both tech giants as well as government. Like ban such content immediately once it appears, option to report such content and take immediate action etc.

    • @daleksummers3155
      @daleksummers3155 Před 7 měsíci

      That is not true b/c FB has become almost draconian about blocking SO MUCH content that isnt politcvially correct or goes against their liberal agenda. So they should easily be able to scan and screen child porn posts and groups. And like the Congressmen said, they way they handle and reply to these posts isnt the same. For example, I know soooo many people, who were immediately banned from FB for just making 1 or 2 conservative posts, (nothing bad or illegal or hateful, just expressing their political opinion on something). In fact, I would say during the election year I saw most of my conservative friends get blocked off FB for this. They dont review it, they just blocked their content immediately. Yet when its the question of sexual content of a child, suddenly FB gives the viewer the option to view it anyway or "view resources", and allows the content to stay and doesnt report the offender.
