Skits missions 8 // Col du Plan // Chamonix

The third time down Col du Plan in a week, this time together with Eric Sundqvist. Wonderfull conditions, and only two tracks on the face since the last light snowfall.
But steep skiing involves risk, there is no getting around that. We can only learn from our mistakes. I´ve chosen to share this extended cut so that others can learn from my misjudgment that day. A rather small mistake, but that is precisely the charm with steep skiing; even the slightest mistake can kill you.
Could I have avoided the situation? Not in the position I was in. But I placed my self in that position on purpose, and that was the mistake. I learned that I need to take into account that the snow might be less stable in protected spots such as that one. I stopped at that spot because it was protected from above by some rock, waiting for Eric to ski his line.
