Ken was a legend but "this dude" is a far more superior drummer.
@@oleka.6404 Absolute agree. Dan has risen Ken style to a higher level, respecting the legacy and adding creativity. I enjoy a lot playing new Carcass songs on drums.
@@oleka.6404 kens drumming was so bland compared to this man. i really wish carcass used more of dans abilities in these new songs especially his double bass since its so consistent and amazing! a full album of skank beats and some blasts here and there is just so boring to listen to... i was so disappointed with this album because of that, expected to hear dan go nuts!
While I’m nostalgic when it comes to Ken and his input into what he brought to the band decades ago, I have to say that Daniel just slays it to perfection for Carcass. What a find Jeff and Bill have in Dan! I’m loving his influence in their last two albums. Tight, unique and at times throws in the unexpected,

Jeff used it on his bass. I could use it on either guitar or bass, but I keep it as a keepsake in my collection of special guitar picks.

Ken's style and at times almost comedic timing is still part of his drumming. So great to see!

Man your playing is the bees knees!! lol, all the accenting notes you do with your feet and the bell of the ride really dials in and makes it more than just a classic thrash metal beat. your foot work is awesome for sure, those quick little 1/16 note rolls you do in your songs are tight, and thats very hard to do. I love the newer carcass albums that have come out over the years. And you do a great job tributing to ken owens work too. well done!! I think ken owen did alot to progress that style of playing, basically doing what got recorded better with necrophagist later, not to be smerch kens playing, just recording got better over the years, but One foot blasting at your speeds is killer. and its nice to see the drums become more a fore front years later, because it is a huge and very essentail part of what makes Carcass such a great band!

Dan is a terrific drummer. I bought the new album, is a pretty fine one, but don't like the fact that the lyrics in the booklet are illegible, a mash-up of words. If I buy an album, I want to be able to read the lyrics, man.
Yes! The funny thing is on first go around, I usually don't read the lyrics, I prefer to take in just the music & flick thru the pics & liner notes/credits. So I didn't even notice what they did... Then when I came to read along to the lyrics, I was like WTF & tried to put it together like some kinda jigsaw puzzle (ahem, quandary!) thinking "what clue am I missing here, surely there's some kinda hidden logic?" before just going "screw this!" & googling them, hehe.
Which really defeats the argument of "buy the physical product, it's the full experience" :(
