This album and beneath the remains are classics
Chaos ad ? I think that's the best out of the 3 even though they r all great !!!
I have watched some clips on the "Under Siege" Live Barcelona, and especially the version of "Inner Self" hits really hard, with the tempo UP ! It is easy to believe that they were
influenced by 1980's hard core punk - rock.
Mass Hypnosis from the album Beneath the remains one of my favorites and im not even that big into metal
And CHAOS!!!!!!!!
This two masterpieces is ONLY real true Sepultura legacy!
After that they slowly go down in quality and original ideas... ((
Sepultura are one of the greatest thrash metal bands of all. These guys could barely speak English and yet their lyrics were better than any pop music today.
And that breakdown midway through the song is one of the baddest ever 🤘
hell yeah, michael! about 20 years ago i read an interview max did where he talked about the lyrics. he said he got a lot of english lyrics by listening to slayer and venom. then as their english got better they realized what the songs were about, and were embarrassed by some of their own songs, like "antichrist". i always felt that dead embryonic cells had a slayer-esque vibe.
Early death metal, thrash, groove metal, alternative metal, tribal stuff. They've done more than just thrash. But great band.
@@shealanger Max used a dictionary to translate and make letters czcams.com/video/IyZnpYGRVrA/video.html&ab_channel=ArteLegendada
And the intimidation factor to the big 4!
Sepultura were definitely one of the best in thrash at this time.
the best. Nothing else comes close to it
Sepultura's "Arise" is my absolute favorite thrash metal album. Every song is a banger
2 years ago lex would have not know a single word in that song! Starting to be a metalhead now and understand those growling vocals!!! Guys are great!
Hahah yes now she is starting to hear the words! Now she is metal! Growl !!!
Went to my 1st Pantera concert in '94. Prong opened, then I got my 1st taste of Sepultura before Pantera went on. I had never heard of them before, but never forgot them after that night. They put on an AMAZING show. That show that night honestly changed my life forever.
I was 14 at that time and my mom wouldn't let me go to that show. I saw Pantera & Type O Negative the next year tho 💪
I saw Pantera and sepultura in Fort Lauderdale (sunrise) in 95 on acid. Absolutely sick.
Sepultura concert mosh back in those years were brutal!! Best experience ever, had my Brazilian soccer jersey signed but the whole band. Saludos desde Miami Fl 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🍺🍺🍺
Old school Sepultura kicks so much ass
These guys were a real game changer!
Like Brazilian version of Slayer 😈🤘 the drummer is amazing, double bass kicks are insane 😤
no way
sepultura is other style complete different of slayer
Was never expecting to see Sepultura jere
Was thinking it could happen but if it did I was expecting something like Roots.
Not the first
Same
Sepultura borders thrash/early death metal. They had stardom in their home country of Brazil before reaching the US with two lesser known albums Morbid Visions and Schizophrenia which lean more towards death. Arise was a breakthrough record commercially for them.
Their first couple albums are some of the most evil sounding thrash albums ever, definitely a proto black metal/death metal vibe. One of my faves for sure.
Borders?
BTR and Arise are pure thrash metal.
@@astro2691 Yes, Borders! Morbid Visions and Schizophrenia are more raw and lean death.
They are still my peak of metal, as far as I ever got into thrash and death metal, it felt like these guys created the best possible sound
Legendary band from my home town, Belo Horizonte !
One of the best breakdowns in metal ever to be recorded 🤘🤘🤘
Now, THIS is a VERY welcome surprise. This brings me back to my metal Roots.
Pun intended lol
I bought this album when it came out because I liked the cover art. I hadn't heard of Sepultura. It was in the Metal section, and had a cool cover. I was SO glad I bought this! I popped the CD into my CD player in my room at the barracks when I was still in the Army, and I was blown away by this album's ferocity. Awesome album! Other must-listen songs on this album are the title track "Arise", and "Desperate Cry". The whole album is great, but this song and those two are the strongest I think.
Sepultura and Soulfly are loved for their tribal rythmns and beats.
This song and album are so great, I’m glad you did a reaction video to it.
They are the best live show I have ever seen! They are my favorite metal band of all time.
I still have this on cd 😀 lex hope your doing well.
The coolest part of this song is at 4:07 and they're album before this beneath the remains is very slayer ish
Sepultra, i just love them, the Cavaleras just rule. Love their tribal influences and the mixture of metal, punk and tribal stuff, especially on Chaos A.D. and Roots albums. Their style is mostly descibed as trash metal, but with every album they sound a little different. Check out "Roots" !
They started as actors of First wave of black and death metal. ( bestial devastation, Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia ).
Most people tend to forget that.
To me Sepultura never was thrash, it was thrashy but they were always with that death metal flair to it.
I haven't watched you guys in a long time. Congratulations on the baby. Your going to be a great mother. And your dude is going to be a great father. Keep on rocking out.
Wow...that brings back good memories... !! I still remember going to their first concerts here in my hometown Belo Horizonte, MG - Brazil 🤘😎🤘
Is one of the greatest albums in metal, from Brazil to the world
Love Lex's reaction during the breakdown 🤘
One of the best drummers you’ll ever hear
If I could only have one metal album, this would be it.
I seriously love how y'all can listen to any Kind of music and instantly start grooving it
Great track! Saw them open for Ministry in 92! 😈🤘🏻
was there in SF
Man that's awesome! (Got some fellow old timers here lol)
One of the best thrash songs from one of the best thrash albums of all time!
The breakdown in this song blew my mind when it came out in 91 . Also the one in Desperate Cry . Arise is my favorite Sepultura album . I love all their earlier stuff a lot too . And even the follow up to this one , Chaos A.D. is awesome too , but its a different sound from th previous ones .
All the music out of Brazil is rhythm heavy
It's freaking amazing to see how far you two have come. Sepultura is one of those bands that can be an acquired taste. But to see you two admire and appreciate them, it's pretty awesome. Just sayin.😊
You two bring great music to the table you two are truly elite👍
Sepultura were a huge metal band from Brazil. This album and Beneath the Remains were fantastic. They also had some great songs on their album Chaos AD
This is considered thrash metal. I love Sepultura. I just came across and saw this so I stopped by to say hello.
Long time don't see you guys. Since being ignored on my request for Crimson Glory's Red Sharks and Eternal World on you live reaction.
Lex saw my request and said "they are from Florida" and was interested but Brad made the gesture like not wanting to. After sending a $5 whateveryou call it. But it's all good. Keep it rocking!
I have been at another reaction channel that did reacted to Crimson Glory and loved it. That's where my attention been at. Take care of yourself and keep enjoying of great music.
Loved Sepultura since seeing this on MTV, when they played real music!
I saw these guys live in Corpus Christi Texas '96 opened for Type O Negative and OZZY 🤘RIP Peter Steele. I can't believe you're doing this song 🤯 that breakdown 💯🔥
I always wish I was old enough to have been able to appreciate the music back in the 90's. Even the 80's. They were the best two decades for music in general, not just metal.
Yes! I was at that show I had just started going to live shows. Corpus used to get amazing shows. Saw pantera soo many times

Cheers from Brazil, Sepultura's country of origin! 😄 For another heavy Brazilian band... well, there are many, but one that is being successful internationally right now, try Crypta. Four women doing death/black metal like nobody's business.
This is the moment you discovered that most Metal bands are just happy that you're talking about them and enjoy their bangers.
The real Sepultura … Brazilian Death Metal. Beneath The Remains, Arise, and Chaos AD, are extraordinary albums! After that they adopted a more tribal sound and became more of a Groove Metal band, very different animal. Still pretty awesome, but yeah, not the same. And then Max (and eventually Igor) left and formed another excellent band, Soulfly. :). My fave album is still Arise though!
Songs like these always make me think of the drummer.... i think he feels every evening in his body that he "played music" ...
From 3:57, its much interesting to watch Lex starting to react, girls usually are quicker to pick up on anything emotive, such as this piece. Brad is probably all into video feed, while Lex rocking on to the riff and knows already at 4:10 something epic is coming, giving Brad quick scancheck - "its dope! Dope, right?" - priceless :)
I would consider them thrash metal, but they from Brazil so you might be hearing some of their tribal influences in their music why its heavy percussive and rhythmic.
Beneath the Remains is a masterpiece. I always considered their sound as that bridge between Thrash Metal and Death Metal. Great to see y’all going back to some early metal 🤘🏼
Beneath The Remains is probably their best album, Arise is #2.
Well the first 3 releases were death metal, with black metal stuff too.
Brad has come so far, they're transitions are seamless!! Haha 😅 that break down after the solo makes the whole song worth it!! So killer!!
Love this band. I am 56 and recently got into them. I didn't like them when they first came out. But now, I can't get enough.
Absolutely love Sepultura , great catalogue
This is my fave Sepultura song. Everything just clicks on this track.
I remember listening to Ratamahatta and Roots all the time on the way to high school with my friends, awesome band. I highly recommend those songs from them if you two haven't heard them
Ratamahatta and Roots are definitely two of my favorites. Although I also say every freaking song Sepulture put out is one of my favorites as well. The struggle is real.
Great music one best metal band of all time great live music great 🥁 drum band
One of my fav song by them. One of their best hands down. Top 5
Love you two.keep up the good work😃😃😃😃😃
This song. The album it's on (Arise), and their sound for most of the 80's and 90's would be considered Thrash / Groove.
I had this boxer dog,it loved Roots record. Every time I put the record on,it took park infront of the speakers :D LOved that dog ❤
Hell Yeah ! Ive requested this song to a ton of different react video peoples , and yall the first ive seen do it ! Much love and respect , I loves yall !
Love early Sepultura. Kicks proper.
The best era of Sepultura!
Thrash metal! 🙂👌 Check Inner Self too
I bet the baby is gonna wake Lex up tonight when he's air drumming and head banging to this! Lol
This is Classic thrash. IGGOR IS A DEMON!!
Sepultura is 🔥🔥🔥, But original Sepultura with Max and Igor and Paulo.
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE DOING THIS SONG 🤯💯🔥❤️🤘🤙🍻💪👊. "land of anger I didn't ask to be born"🔥
Sepultura sorta flew under the radar of many metal heads back in the day. But people started catching on and now they are considered a classic thrash metal band which is well deserved. 'Beneath the Remains' and 'Arise' are their 2 best albums imo. A lot of their songs are about things going on in Brazil at the time. I got to meet Igor Calavera (drummer) in a Brazilian jiujitsu class when he was in town for a week. He signed all my CDs and was the quietest, humble guy you ever met. Not what I expected considering he is such a maniac on the drums. Rock on!
the first album I had to buy because of the cover. still one of my favorites.
Great band. Yall have done about 4 of their songs already and also Soulfy (another side band) , but wouldn't hurt to do a few more. lol
This was their early '90s stuff.
They are a mixture of thrash metal, prog, punk, tribal music, etc. Very versatile group and talented musicians. '80s, '90s, and '00s! Check out more of their videos.
Soulfly wasn't a side project Ivan and Igor got into an argument and didn't talk to each other for ten years.
YESSSSSS!!!!! Old school Sepultura!!!
Killer song!!
Lex, your love of this sound is awesome. I was an 80s kid, raised by a 70s tunes loving mum. Was a punk/hardcore teen, but never lost the love of 80s new wave and silly awesome pop. Have you tried Industrial? Godflesh song Like Rats, (eta was thinking Christbait. Banger of a song) or anything Ministryy
saludos desde argentina y me crie con sepultura y hasta ese albun era buena banda.....🤘
one of the coolest breakdowns in a song
I can't believe I missed it! Sepultura are stellar during the Cavaliers bros era. Caught Ignores drumstick in Nawlins. One of the best pits I ever slam danced in. Glad to see some more metal.
(it's spelled Igor Cavalera)
I know I should proofread before commenting. Auto fill sucks! Lol.
This is from "Arise" which is definitely their best. The previous release "Beneath the Remains" was great, a little lacking in production, but when they put this sucker out...wow, they upped their game. Just the right amount of thrash, just the right amount of groove, and Igor (drummer) does an outstanding job, and the production is stellar. The band got less technical and more groove after this release, but nothing compared to "Arise" and "Beneath the Remains". I still listen to "Arise" regularly to this day 30 years later.
Beneath the Remains, GREAT album. Chaos A.D. another Titan Sepletura album! 👍🤘😎🖖🇨🇦🍻
I had to do a 8th grade project about brazaillian music and me and my friend used Sepultura, they gave us an A :)
Metal con percusión latinoamericana ,desde Brasil
Roots🤟🏻Bloody🤟🏻Roots
Finally this day has arrived: Sepultura from Brasil.
Such a great album
Best Metal band from Brazil
Lex + Sepulatura... gold
I saw them twice in one year they were great and I still listen to them. I was told that they were against killing of children.
Damn - it had been a minute since I last stopped by the channel - but I finally decided to do so, you guys are on some classic Sepultura!? Awesome. I’ve loved the whole Arise album since like 93
Sepultura was amazing band from Brazil
4:07 welcome to one of the sickest breakdowns in thrash history
My favorite Sepultura song!
Lex digging the breakdown 😀
This son is incredible, my favorite from sepultura
I saw the Cavalera Brothers play this album and the one released directly before. Last year. It was insane
Classic!
Saudações do Brasil.
This must be quite different for the usual reacts for Brad and Lex, lol Lex getting into it.
Sepultura: Slayers little Brazilian cousins
They must be in the top 5 musical acts to ever come out of Brazil.
try the world, they were unbelievable
: Let me tell ya I'll break it down for ya " lol
Been jammin' this album almost as long as it's existed! My favorite thing about this song is when I realized that wicked breakdown in the middle is just a bunch of varied rhythms using only one note, but it sounds like so much more. 🤘
THIS SONG!!!!!!!
Peak of all thrash
First gig I ever went too😊
I remember when they were promoting this album they put the album cover in different metal magazines and stuff and it had me very interested because sometimes I would buy Meadow album. If I thought the cover was cool just to check their music out and this was definitely a great buy a band or later seen twice and had at least four or five their albums.
I smile the same as Lex does when I listen to this album lol.
