Allah answes this question in one verse and that is the second verse of surah al baqarah:
"This is the Book! There is no doubt about it1-a guide for those who are sincere"
And sincerity alone is also not enough. You need sincerity and must have no pride for pride is a garment of Allah and whoever fights allah over it then Allah will destroy him

There is a difference between intelligence and wisdom. What ALLAH SWT says, is that he pours wisdom into certain person's heart and not in others for reasons known to Him alone. MAY BE because He Knows that such wisdom would do no good. What He Knows , we don't.
I had this question in my mind that there are so many clear evidences of Islam so many prophecies like Prophet Muhammad saw predicted that Ammar will be killed by rebellious group,fatimah s.a will be the first to die after him,Hazrat Ali will die when his beard will be coloured with blood of his head and exactly that happened and there are 1000 clear proofs then why do so many intelligent person in the world don't accept
Because these prophecies were written 200 years after his death
Who dictates whose intellectual or not, lots of intellectuals believed in certain things which are proven wrong these days. Also intellectual in what exactly? you can be a genius in mathematics and barely have any knowledge outside of it
