I always end up in a puddle of tears every time I watch Eddie Vedder’s video or the highlights of the Cubs 2016 World Series championship. What other MLB team can take a 3-1 deficit and force a 7 game series…with extra innings…and a 2 hour rain delay? My grandpa, an immigrant from Sweden who fell in love with baseball after coming to Chicago, and my dad never saw their beloved Cubs win it all. How I wish I could share my joy with my dad! But I know that there was a party in heaven that night.
This was one of those moments as a sports fan you have to admire. I grew up a Cardinals fan in central Illinois where everyone was either a Cubs or Cards fan. I didn’t follow baseball too much as an adult but I was glued to the TV on this night rooting for the Cubbies and for sports history! It was pretty special to witness.
Let’s face it, this was the most emotional World Series W ever. People had been waiting they’re entire lives to see this. Some fans lived just long enough to see the end of the drought.
Agreed! I still cry from joy and happiness not to mention shock when I relive the Cubs winning the WS and when I see highlight videos of them winning as well. Being a Cubs fan it was a thing of beauty.... Go Cubs Go
New England during the sox run in 04 was insane. We had a saying about the yanks here, they killed our grandfathers, they killed our fathers, and now they are coming for us. 87 yrs of heartbreak erased in 1 day. Can count on 1 hand the amount of times ive seen my old man cry. First time he took me too his parents grave as a young boy, when Sinatra died, and when the sox won in 04, and when his aunt rose (who basically raised him) passed. That was pretty emotional for those of us in new England but i get you.
Years back I worked at a target store. They hired Santa over the Christmas holidays. One day I told him all i ever wanted for the rest of my life was a Cubs World Series win. he put his arm around my shoulders and said...."I'm sorry son, i'm not God, i'm Santa Clause and I can't do miracles.'" I guess God heard and finally decided a miracle was needed. For all those who didn't see it happen. For all the players who gace us great baseball. And for Harry Carey. God bless us one and all.
Me too. We were listening on the radio on the final game. No work was done that night and when the Cubbies won we couldn't believe it. I just wish my dad was alive to see it. He was a Cubs fan his whole life.
I said the greatest day of my life was when we beat L.A. and made it to the World Series. A week later I said the greatest day of my life was being at Wrigley for a World Series game. A week later WAS the greatest day of my life.
RIP Harry Cary. RIP DAD. Wish you could have seen it happen! "Maybe next year" now has a new meaning - maybe another World Season win next year!!! And thanks, and a BRAVO, to Eddie Vedder for a GREAT song!!!
Every time I feel angry or frustrated or depressed about what's happening to our beautiful Country and the people from all over the world who call it home, I try to remind myself that "we'll always have the Cubbies". Practical, no. Superficial, maybe. Comforting, yes.
As a Minnesota sports fan I haven’t had much to cheer about in my life but the Cubs are my second favorite MLB team and I was so happy when they won it all I actually teared up a little bit
Not a CUBS fan but I am a baseball fan! I acknowledge the awesomeness of the CUBS going all the WAY!!!!!!!!! I pulled for them the whole playoffs that year even over my team…still go bravO’s!
One of the greatest fairy-tales moments in sports-stories history, 07-years ago today.....The Chicago Cubs have finally ended their 108-years drought of long tormented cursed is over. They have earned my respect ever since winning the [2016] W.S. on 11/02/2016! #FlyTheW #GoCubsGo
this video shows why baseball is the best sport ever I like basketball but it along with football and hockey and soccer can go to hell as far as I'm concerned baseball is life and forever my favorite sport and the only sport that matters I'm a Dodger fan but cheers
I'm from Iowa but I'm a huge Cubs fan I went to a game in 2016 I watch this game with my brother and when they won I was just in shock and than when I realized they won I got tears falling down
When they won it I didn't know quite what to do. My family and I are loyal Cub fans . Through thick and thin we are loyal fans. My favorite time at Wrigley field was singing with Harry.
Future H.O.F., broke the 86-years in [2004] since (1918) for the Boston Red Sox & then: broke the longest droughts in the U.S. Major Professional Sports History.....108-years in [2016] since (1908) for the Chicago Cubs 'NL'. Theo Epstein is a legend!
Am I wrong for thinking the Cubs World Series win was better than all 6 of MJ’s Bulls championship teams? I love both the Cubs and Bulls, but the Cubs championship will always have more an emotional impact with me.
Gotta love how this was one of the greatest World Series ever even the Sox’s World Series which was one of the least watched couldn’t compete to a cubs World Series where the world was watching
It’s not Bartman who needs forgiveness, but those who cursed him out, and even made death threats against him. Especially when there were three or four other people trying to do the same thing he did. If nothing else, at least it helps provide some closure.
I was an extra in Ground Hog Day. I was only 12 , filmed in Woodstock , IL. I watched Jim B in a movie break out of prison for this , you're welcome! I should of been there , now I'm going to sue you guys . ;)
I will get flak on the internet for saying this. I'm born and raised in Seattle and we are now currently, the laughing stock, the team that won't make it, the team that has "fans" say "of course they lost." I still have hope and when it happens this city is going to fucking burn. There's still the population that loves our Mariners. Seeing the Cubs win made me extremely happy. If it takes a 181yrs to do it I won't be here, but I will support my home team.
@@tarvisland4136 He, himself, wouldn't be able to tell you why his brain leads him to post pathetic things like this. Some people are just afflicted in this way. All you can do is feel sorry for them and hope they get well someday.

You didn't even have to be a fan of the Cubs at the time, you just wanted them to win. History.

Still the best rivalry in baseball brother

Love Bill Murray. Love my Cubbies. Nothing will compare to 2016

I’m sorry but the 2003 Chicago Cubs will forever be my all-time favorite.
Still brings me tears of joy. One of the best sports moments, if not the best moment, in the history of Chicago sports.
Dear God, but I love the Chicago Cubs. Win or lose, I'm behind them. I love the Cubs!
I wish Ron Santo could've seen this
I will always remember this moment in my life.

RIP Dad, i know you already know this, but they went all the way
I’m a Phillies fan and I love this song and video.
I still cry every time I see this stuff - can't help it. A fan since the 60's!
As a Red Sox fan I can relate in 04. Congrats Cubbies!!! The Curse is finally over!

My god, this video still brings tears to my eyes. I'm a lifetime Cub fan in New Mexico. Let's do it again 2017!
I'm from Iowa but I'm a huge Cubs fan I went to a game in 2016 I watch this game with my brother and when they won I was just in shock and than when I realized they won I got tears falling down
I still cry when I think about it…What a magical day, and what a magical few weeks!
feels good to sing along with Eddie
Thank you Eddie Vedder! GREAT SONG!
Man the scene at my house when they won. I was crying my dad was crying and his dad was crying. Was a moment I will never forget
When they won it I didn't know quite what to do. My family and I are loyal Cub fans . Through thick and thin we are loyal fans. My favorite time at Wrigley field was singing with Harry.
No matter how many times i see this it brings joyful tears to my eyes
The only song that brings a tear! It finally happened, thank you Theo!

2016, was awesome,wow,epic!
Goosebumps. Go Cubs

This is my new favorite song.

Now let's WIN two! #WorldSeries2017 #BackToBack
2nd time in 8 years Chicago has made HISTORY!
Well here's to 2018! We'll go all the way again. And it won't be in 108 years.
I'm a Rangers fan, but seeing the Cubbies finally win it all will always be a moment I'll never forget.
I hope you feel the same this week
The road to win 2 is officially on! Division clinched, 11 more to go. Let's go Cubbies!
Bryan Hranicky unfortunately the dodgers bullpen was just too strong
I would love to see Eddie do a new verson called "Finally we went all the way"
Gotta love how this was one of the greatest World Series ever even the Sox’s World Series which was one of the least watched couldn’t compete to a cubs World Series where the world was watching
Just about made me cry
Goo Cubs they r champions

Eddie!!
I lived for forty years in a city that is just as crazy about sports! So if the Cubs can do it, then maybe the BUFFALO BILLS can do it!

Steve Bartman desverses vindication and forgiveness from the cub fans.
Dusty Baker for not coming out after Bartman incident and calm down Prior and the Cubs. Unforgivable. Nationals can have him. Go Cubs.
He got a ring 💍 so all is forgiven
It’s not Bartman who needs forgiveness, but those who cursed him out, and even made death threats against him. Especially when there were three or four other people trying to do the same thing he did. If nothing else, at least it helps provide some closure.
@@darkjedi74 see movie documentary Catching Hell to get a full understanding of Bartman incident...on youtube
@@tenisalot I’ve seen it. Like I said, all of us who initially cursed him out are the ones who need forgiveness, not him.

One day I will get to Wrigley field, have to
By the way, Dexter Fowler was the first black athlete in Cubs history to hit a home run in the World Series. GO CUBS GO!!!!
1908 DOESNT MEAN SHIT ANYMORE
Gdog__10 Vlogs You're right, its just the longest streak of an MLB team with no World Series Win. #OnlyTook108Years
wo
Play like it's been 109 years. #FlyTheW #ThatsCub

Goodbye Someday
Surr as God made green apples
Somewhere Harry Caray must've been smiling...
I member
It's such a shame Harry wasn't there to call the seris.
Is that Jeffery Dean Morgan in the thumbnail?
The Cubs won the World Series?!?! Why didn't anyone tell me?
Theo Epstein is the greatest GM of all time.
Ol' Eddie sure turned this WS into his own self promo experience. Wow.
huh? Eddie is a life long fan and Ernie Banks personally asked him to write the song
Worst take humanly possible
Indians pissed it away.
No thumbs up or down. Thumbs up for the video, down for that disgusting song.
