I'm embarrassed to say, but I've never been on a plane before and can't relate to the reality of funny airplane/airport skits. What is "group one"? And is it somewhat like this whilst boarding a plane? And are TSA officers really suck?

Ex: boarding group 1 are seats 1-10, group 2 are seats 11-20, etc. This system supposedly makes it less hectic than letting everyone in at the same time and causing blockages throughout the plane when seating.

I used to fly alot for my job. I board very late and chill. The plane doesn't start till boarding is finished and less time on a plane seat is good time.
When you have two consecutive travels to do though, you know what happens if you are seating in the front or middle part of the plane? Some guys that sit on the back, enter the plane, leave their handbags above ANY seat, so, when it’s your turn to be seated, there is no space to leave your bag, so you have to leave where there ‘s room, in the back of the plane. So when you land, you have to wait for EVERYONE to leave the plane, so that you can leave your seating, go to the back, take the luggage, then leave(I travel to and from my home country, Greece, and air companies open only the door in the front. It has happened to me twice. And I almost lost my 5h trip bus.
Dude, I fly probably 25 to 40 times a year for my job and this is so damn hilarious because you’ll stand there boarding group one and there will be 10 different groups of people that go on before you 😂🤣 I’ll be looking out for the military baby next 💀
If you fly often, can you explain why people want to board the plan earlier? I'd rather chill in the spacious boarding area than sit in the sardine can where I'll be stuck for the next hours anyway.
@@gehirndoper that’s usually what I do even if I’m in group 1 when I fall back to pretty much like the end of the groups it’s just cause I fly so much that they put me to boarding group one, but I always hang back. It’s always more comfortable than being crowded on a plane.

But here's the full explanation: What happens when your plane lands, parks at the gate, and the seat belt light/bell goes off? People stand up and fill the aisle..even though they aren't going to be moving for a while, right? (They should sit and wait...but human nature says, "hey, if I sit, the aisle is going to fill up with all those people behind me, and I'll be stuck." So, people stand and wait in the aisle. Ok.. so the issue is that there is a rude habit now that when boarding, some selfish people will put their things/carry-ons in the first empty spot they pass rather than further back and above their own seat. (Why?? They figure they don't have to drag it down the aisle in either direction. It's also warped thinking that "others will be doing this nasty trick to me, so I'll be rude to them first.") Well, play that scenario out... if the overhead compartment over your seat is filled(by those sitting further back - but who boarded earlier) YOU now need to utilize an overhead space further back in the plane. BUT, when the plane lands and you want to get off as quickly as you can (especially if you need to catch another plane), now you have to wait for everyone behind you (who is standing and filling the aisles) to exit just so you can retrieve your items that SHOULD have been above you - but aren't ..due to the selfish folks who boarded earlier than you. It shouldn't happen, but it does. And when you miss a planned connection or you just get caught in this rude pattern a time or two... you start to learn, and you look to get on as soon as you're able the next trip. There you go.

As someone who used to fly a lot for work, this sketch always had me howling. The utter pettiness and head power at the end is just glorious and I’m glad I no longer have to deal with it.
As a poor person i don't even get up when they start boarding. When they finish and get to BASIC. They always ask if i need help. My reply is YES FINANCIAL HELP.
There's often limited overhead locker space, so if you have luggage that has to go up there and you board later than too many people, you either have to put your luggage far away from your seat, or in the case where there's no space left at all, pay to check the bag(s) to go into the cargo hold, which also requires you to remove any items that can't go in the hold like certain kinds of electronics and batteries
Meanwhile, I'm just hoping no one thinks I'm crazy for all the random chuckles in TSA/boarding lines. I can't unsee any K&P airplane skit now when traveling 😂
Last time I flew the person who booked our flights paid extra to be some of the first people to board. We were 3,4, and 5 in the line of group 1. After all the special stuff and people they let board there were roughly 30ish people on the plane before us. I genuinely think it would be better to just push one of the people in our group around in a wheelchair and say they have some sort of medical issue. Wouldn't have to pay extra and would get in before the people who did.
When I was a kid, my friends & i would hit the nurses station whenever we went to the amusement park. 1 of us would fake a sprained ankle & limp up the desk. They'd hand us an ice pack & a loner wheelchair. That chair let us skip the line for all the rides- for our whole group. Line skipping is awesome!
I always get aisle seat so I can board last and not have to deal with standing in queue. Just chilling on a bench until everyone else are done. We're all getting to the destination at the same time anyway.

I never understood the concept of getting on the plane first, I'm going to be stuck on this thing for at least a minimum of an hour probably a lot more. Even when I was active duty military I was like I'll get on last thank you very much
