Very special very unique absolutely Irreplaceable Yulia lipnitskaya. Amazing performance when she was 13. Wow.
wow, amazing. I've watched many skaters over the years but none captivates like Julia.
Watching this in 2019 and the commentary said it all =(. I miss her in the world of skating so much!
Insane! She blew my mind when I watched this last week. Her spins were incredible and her jumps were beautiful.

Dear goodness me! That was gorgeous!
This is a skate that will go down in history. I've reviewed ballets and Julia has the type of body that will sustain. I don't think she'll have a clutzy stage. I think she has a future. I can see her as a Worlds Sr Champion. She just needs to maintain a good, healty diet, goodness knows she gets enough exercise.

Her flexibility is incredible! Just like seein' another Sasha Spiral. Even more, her strong jumps and graceful foot step is toally gonna brin' her a great future in figure skating

Wouldn't it be wonderful to watch these tapes without the asinine commentary? Wouldn't it be nice to just enjoy the music and the talent?
She is so much like Sasha in terms of flexibility and grace; My hope is that she will surpass the level that Mao currently holds in form of the spirals. Even to say that I love Julia's spiral better than that of Mao. Caroline Zhang can't continue to outshine that of Julia.

In some instant, people are not born with flexibility and they can't try all the things that Sasha does. In another situation, this young girl who was said to not have flexibility as a child and then, develops an amazing flexibility as a mature skater. But believe it or not, Julia has the genetic capability of retaining her flexibility and she will retain her flexibility as she matures.

@@MrZeddy100 She also had really bad injuries. She had to stop skating in the middle of her program one time bc of her leg injury. That was the last year she competed

it's not risky if you know how to take care of yourself right :) but yes, to certain degrees there's the danger, since after all it's a sport about jumping, spinning, and doing footwork on a pair of heel boots, with a pair of sharp blades mounted on it, all on a slippery and hard surface. It's definitely riskier than other sports, such as basketball.

To her credit though, she did use a completely different cut of "Dark Eyes" as opposed to the really high energy cut that Sasha used.
As her coach and the commentator say, it is just impossible to comment on her future just yet. She is only 13... Yeah she is so flexible but her jumps are small and movements are not so quick & crisp. Hope she will mature smoothly in the next few years.
She's very flexible. But I think it's because of her age. When she gets older, I hope she keeps her flexibility since it's always harder to maintain for ice skaters. Then she'll be up there next to Sasha Cohen.
Everything she has is bordering just perfect, but her landings look a tad bit strange.

nope, gracie gold is the national champion, and she is 16. 12 year old karen chen is about to move to junior. she was the novice national champion, and 12 year old nathan chen (not related to karen) is the junior national mens champion, but none are as good as julia :)

Unfortunately for Yulia, she just looks so stressed this year. All the pressure of Sochi...but I have a feeling she will come back strong and medal at Russian nationals - maybe at Europeans and Worlds too - she and Yelena, to me, are certainly the best. Yelena looks so light and full of joy. Yulia has always been a more serious pensive skater....she will be fine - I just hope she ends the year strong....

great skater, but too many flexibility moves! she's flexible, we get it! she also needs to work on her posture!! other than that, holy cow, really fast spins!!!!
she copied sasha cohen's 2006 music for BOTH the SP and LP....nothing could be more unoriginal...so weird....I'm happy for her win but don't understand why skaters can't develop their own style anymore...enough with recycling something that worked for someone else.
My question is do you like Julia? I do which is why I think you are a stuck-up dull person. Please stop your unpleasant comparison to poor Sasha. At least please give both Julia and Sasha justice!
Something is odd about her jumps...
Her jumps don't normally get very much height; plus, her back position coming out of her jumps is horrible. She is completely slouched over every time.
It's that exaggerated kick going in. Ugh. That technique didn't develop and mature enough and now she's run into trouble as she grows. I wonder will we see her at her best again.
