im guessing the 75-100hp statement was reference to bone stock and since this car had an intake on it already and then gained 47rwhp with the headers that would put the crank hp gain right around the 75hp mark

The guy installing the headers has he ever heard of fender guards or that blue plastic wrap. The paint on camaro’s are so thin doesn’t take much to do damage. That’s my beef other then that he knows what he’s doing and installed them fine. 👍🏻👍🏻 460 torque is nice. Plus plus u fixed the volume when u test drive. LMR your the best. Next mod for him E85. Thumbs up for sure.

A friend of mine who has a 2020 ten speed transmission and Texas speed headers and the LT2 intake and ZR1 Throttle body and E85 with slicks and stock rear exhaust system no cats. Turns 11.3. In the 1-4 mile was his best time. They used some one box to tune the E-85. I don’t remember who.2” headers.

Also I have a flow master hi flow I place already on the 3rd 3" to the front of flow monster 40 series muffler dualed 2.5 left and right behind wheels. These are all my bolt on. Ported 80mm katech throttle body airaid spacer airaid Jr tube into factory box with k/n filter aw1 oil can pedal commander msd coils msd wires. I'm lookn to install stage 2cam a new ported and polished heads. Any suggestions let me know. Thnx

2013 silverado 5.3 LMG. full LLT2 gpi VVT Cam kit, ported and polished heads tuned with headers, cold air intake and full exhaust. i feel like 311/328 at the wheel is a bit low. i know the 5.3 isnt a big monster power maker but does that seem right? Its on a 20" wheel with a 33" tire 3.42 gears. i feel it should make more around 350/360 wheel
It sounded fantastic and the power gain was incredible. But I am afraid I don't have a shop with a lift and all the tools and expertise needed to do it. I thought that you can simple add a cam for a stage 1 tune with an output of 515 hp and 491 hp.
It's not the factory headers choking it's the factory cat pipes. The only way to compare apples to apples would of been to delete the cat pipes first then compare the Long tubes vs stock tri-y's.
Catts or no catts, you won't gain more than a few hp.. I worked in exhaust business and have background in flow dynamics. Catts just drop a little weight and add fumes. The huge curved 35°-65° air intake tube is a huge restriction. Figure out how to bring air in with less than a 30° bend in the tubing. Cut and add a custom naca duct at front leading edge of hood and air intake filter right there. Straight in. Put some fine mesh there. Like the little slit in the C6 Z06 hood or bumper on older 2009-14 12 Camaro SS.

If off road pipes aren't legal in your state because of inspection move 🤣 headers off road pipes only way to go or one of those exhaust jobs you can open and close
Longtube headers + crossover + NO CATS + tune = 47 rwhp over stock Not everyone can go catless. Longtube headers on a stock engine make around 15 - 20 rwhp and cost $1,300-$2500+ The dollar to power ratio isn't worth it.
@@ricin82 Get a forced induction kit from Boost District. Easily biggest bang for the buck. Stay on low boost for a bit until you have enough funds for other supporting mods such as an interchiller. Long tube headers would be on the list, but not 1st. Depends on your goals and budget.
The next mod? Go to school! Always invest in the driver before you start changing up a really good car. If you can't use the power you've wasted your money. Then he'll be ready for a cam and heads.
You gotta be pretty dumb to believe a aftermarket CAI with the same curved tubing makes over 5 hp, let alone 20+ hp. X pipes add a few hp and long tubes about 15-18 whp. Bigger, shaved TB might add 4-5hp, ported stock mani is good for 12 hp and WAY cheaper than a MSD or Atomic AF. LT2 is good but not worth it either as it makes 2-4 hp more than a ported oem unit. You just cant crack 100 hp out of the LT1 FBO without adding heads or a cam and 93 fuel w/E. Then close to 100 hp.
Figure in 18% drivetrain loss for an auto. 440 at the tire is 536 at the flywheel. That's ~80hp bump at the flywheel over bone stock. Do the LT2 manifold and ZR1 TB the guy below mentioned, retune, and you get there pretty easy when looking at flywheel #s vs factory rating.
@@jmilz28 using the dyno numbers LMR has, 395 horse power base with the cold air intake and axle back calculated at 18% drivetrain loss (10 speed auto) = 466 hp only 11 crank horsepower more than the stock 455 SAE rating. With headers and no cats 440 + 18 %=519 horsepower net gain 53 HP. Or just take the raw dyno #s the car gained 45 RWHP with headers and no cats. Did any one notice if the dyno was set at SAE smoothing or STD smoothing?

@@justabush1028s not. That's a 6th gen. You can tell by the taillights and the fact that it clearly has an LT engine. The 5th gens have the LS3 or L99 engines. (I have a 5th gen SS) But yeah, the 455hp is crank HP for these. All cars lose some power (around 15-20% of crank HP) to the wheels. So stock, 455hp at the crank, he was probably pushing around 381 to the wheels. That's why they kept saying it gained (wheel) Horsepower because Dynos measure how much power the car is actually putting out. At 463whp, he's probably around 550hp to the crank. Crank HP is basically just bragging rights. Lol. But technically he did make 100 more HP. 🤷🏾♂️
I believe the customer would be very happy with that horsey-gain, I would be happy. It sounds excellent too. The other thing is you're not messing with the engine at all, just letting it breathe, removing the Covid mask!
Where is the 100 horsepower gain? These are stock ~400 bhp, you showed 50 bhp gain which lines up with a normal intake/exhaust with a tune. The intake and exhaust stuff the customer had wasn't tuned, aka it did nothing in the "stock" dyno. I have a feeling that you guys didn't know the Gen 6 made more power than the Gen 5 Camaro. At least I hope, because otherwise this crew is horribly ignorant or lying if they think it made more than 50 over stock. Then you have the mechanics leaning on cars without protecting the car besides foam as a tool tray. Is this shop that cheap? First time I have seen a shop tune in track mode to tune as well. Every shop that specializes in Chevy products say it results in poor tuning because of the crap Chevy does in track mode, plus most owners (myself included) say it is horrible to drive in track mode (poor pedal response, horrible steering feel).

Problem with headers is that they will mess up your knock sensors. My advice is don’t cheap out on quality high wall thickness header.

Tires too big. Go down to an 18 or 17 with a smaller sidewall and a shorter gear. A 3.73 gear would be a lot better.

The good news is the "burble" tune only works in manual mode on decel. So when you're cruising normally in Drive it doesn't do it.

I have a feeling that you guys didn't know the Gen 6 made more power than the Gen 5 Camaro. At least I hope, because otherwise this crew is horribly ignorant or lying if they think it made more than 50 over stock.
Then you have the mechanics leaning on cars without protecting the car besides foam as a tool tray. Is this shop that cheap?
First time I have seen a shop tune in track mode to tune as well. Every shop that specializes in Chevy products say it results in poor tuning because of the crap Chevy does in track mode, plus most owners (myself included) say it is horrible to drive in track mode (poor pedal response, horrible steering feel).
