    Your little pumpkin turned out very cute, (and it's not the only one lol). No seriously, simple and easy enough for anyone to try. I've never used the clay conditioner to remove finger prints, I normally use isopropyl alcohol but seriously dislike the smell of it so maybe this will be better. Tfs.

    NEW FAN! I'm very familiar with painting but I have almost NO experience with polymer clay! However, I will be attempting to make a larger version of this ASAP. Wish I could show you when I'm done for any advice on improvement...because YOU are amazing! I really liked how the acrylic paint dried with a little shine over that polymer...acrylic is generally so matte. I'm so excited. Thank you for the tutorial!

    Are those paints acrylics? If so, do the brushes leave any marks? I ask because I am making small pieces for a board game and want to paint them without an airbrush, but still want the paint layer to be thin and smooth.

    • @rusted_ursa
      @rusted_ursa Před 5 lety +3

      I paint clay with cheap acrylics, and I find that using a wet brush can help with brush marks. Also, painting on thin coats, with the first coat brushing up and down, and the second coat side to side. A softer brush works best. Those are all my secrets.

      You don't need to do any prep before painting except allowing the piece to cool down. However, if you sand a piece after baking, you will need to remove any sanding residue.

    I have a STUPID question... forgive me. I don’t sculpt, but want to make miniatures for certain art pieces. Why do you use a foil ball rather than just roll a ball from the sculpey?

    • @DavidLMundy
      @DavidLMundy Před 4 lety +1

      So the Sculpey will bake. If you made the whole thing out of Sculpey (1) expensive but (2) more importantly wouldn't bake thru or would take forever. Instead, you bulk out using foil, then cover that with a layer of Sculpey.
