Yes, it is a Christian song, and as I mentioned in the comments on your reaction to Angelina's version her live performance of this song at the end of her 2021 live-streamed Christmas concert may be the most moving performance by any artist I've ever seen.
`You say` was the last song of her Christmas streaming live concert but it was the only pre-recorded song, it was not live. It was clearly produced adding a bit of reverb etc...

I believe that the difference we perceive between the two is that Angelina has the ability to emote beyond most artists. Lauren is brilliant, yet Angelina brings this aspect of transferring emotion to the listener which makes it more powerful to many.
That empathy that allows Angelina to convey the emotion is what led her to give her sea green ankleboots to the orphan with scarred feet. That emotionally in her voice is what has kept her fans coming back compulsively all these years. I worried America and its concentration on all things surface would coarsen that. I am so so glad I was wrong to worry.
I swear the second line is ANGELINA and also remember she was only aged 15 performing live at her 2021 Christmas show .

This is such an amazing mashup. Lauren is one of the best Christian music singers out there. I absolutely love that Angelina covered this. Originally, Angelina covered this during her Republic records Christmas special in 2021.

Thanks Britt for turning me on to this one. I don't go deep diving into AJ's music enough. I generally do not go in and listen to a reactor before I've heard the piece, but this popped up and was already automating? So I went with it. Sometimes something falls in your lap just when you are desperate for relief. Thank you for all of your great reactions. I love watching angelina reactions especially by real vocal coaches. Oh it is amongst my favorite things to watch her break vocalistsand coaches down like a twelve gage shotgun. To see her melt the minds and break the heartstrings of the strong and macho. To reduce proud men to sobbing masses. It is indeed sadistic to enjoy watching this.
Britt, it's her soulfulness. She is reflecting every emotion everyone of us have ever felt in our lives. That's why we almost come to tears every time we listen to her sing. I'm starting to tear up from my own words! Angelina is so delicate like a beautiful flower but powerful like a strong wind that engulfs us with the emotional impact she has on us. It's in her and she doesn't force anything on us, it's just who she is, someone we should feel so fortunate to be around when she has come to visit us and love us with all her heart. What is extraordinary about it is that it comes very naturally to her. Vocally and artistically she is a phenom and what a pleasure it is to listen to her sing for us. I totally agree about their tones! I didn’t know who Lauren Daigle was until I heard AJ’s version. Lauren is fantastic! Angelina has always been able to convey so much emotion and warmth and with the rasp sounds so much older than her actual age. Can’t say if she believes, but I do know she was blessed with more vocal ability and is driven to perfect it more than any person I’ve ever heard!

Here grandma even painted a painting of Jesus love for us through his sacrifice ❤. They are a very private family and we respect that as her fans. The church they went to in Norway, she would sing in sometimes especially during Christmas. We always keep her and the family in our prayers. For being in these dark and end days, them and the rest of us need God our heavenly father more than anything and that we need to keep that relationship going forward 🙏 ❤. Yes, Angelina’s audio was from her streamed online Christmas concert in 2021. The performance live was incredible and it was put together (at the last minute) by her mentor (and pianist) at Republic Records, Rob Christie. He put together her band for this occasion… legendary Jazz musicians Jimmy Zavala (Saxophone for Etta James), bassist Chuck Berghofer (bass player for Frank Sinatra), Greg Field (drummer for Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald), and Shelly Berg (pianist). All of them are Grammy nominated musicians with many Grammys among them. Angelina interviewed (and was interviewed by) all of them midway through the show (she was in her glory… like a kid in a candy shop). 🖤👣

When I first heard Angelina's version (and somehow not being aware of Lauren's), I quickly found the lyrics to confirm what I was thinking - that it is a Christian song / prayer to God. Such a beautiful, beautiful song. No wonder the YT video has been viewed 297M (!) times, and see it has touched many hearts. God is great in His creation of both Lauren and Angelina.
As for the 2 versions - I also at first was having trouble telling their voices apart, at least near the start of the song. Interestingly, I went and found some live versions by Lauren to try to do an apples-to-apples comparison to Angelina's live version - and while still beautiful, they didn't have the Angelina-like richness of tone of Lauren's studio version.

I would love to hear them both sing this live together... I think big factor on the difference is that Lauren on standard studio version and Angelina singing it live. So hearing them doing it together with same mic and environment might be tough for someone being blindfolded to say who is who.

I've been listening to Lauren Daigle for about 7 or 8 years now. As a Christian man I find her music amazing. Her song Noel is outstanding. It is nothing like the Christmas song. Totally different. And BEAUTIFUL!
Edit: I am a former On-Air-Personality with over 15 years in the music industry. It has always amazed me how mainstream media shuns Christian music and independent labels. If you are one of these, you can look forward to their wrath. NF is a Christian man who happens to rap. His music is clean (no cussing) his message is positive and healing (get your tissues out), yet he always gets attacked by the likes of Rolling Stones Magazine. People try to label him as a "Christian Rapper" but in reality, from his own mouth he says that he is a rapper that just happens to be a Christian. Although, he did start out as a Christian singer his music now is about growth and healing (with just a tad of the Christian element mixed in).
Lauren has an amazing voice but only Angelina can emit this level of emotion in a song.

Part of what makes Angelina a genius vocalist is that she is able to channel the singer she is covering and what comes out is an Angelinaized vocal... Isn't it amazing that Angelina can sing this deeply personal song of Lauen Daigles who herself is a fantastic singer yet somehow give it more emotion and feeling than Lauren...
