Tyrion casually reminding Azzazel why N’Kari never took over Ulthuan.
HE putting Slaanesh in the bin is exactly what I needed to see today
Straight up was not expecting Slaanesh to get like… destroyed. This was not a fight this was an ass whooping
Sounds like a win for the followers of slaanesh...
Tyrion's got history beating down Slaanesh.
@@sleep_enjoyer13 lmao
Jill 💜
@@sleep_enjoyer13 this was the bad kind that even Slaanesh would enjoy.
High Elf winning warms my heart
Yeah it's nice to see them get the W
Agreed!
This man loaded up a campaign army
Slaanesh can't handle the STAUNCHNESS of these lines of spears
This was litteraly my first High Elve Campaign army xD
Just all the Sea guards in the world and a random Dragon to smack stuff with^^
Always found those kinds of campaign armies to be insanely boring, but to each their own.
@@jeanhunter3538 they are. but they are also efective and easy to play. sometimes shutting brain off and winning easy is more fun
High Elves really took a page off the Dawi and decided that the box is the way to beat Slaanesh.
Yeah, increasing the length of Domination games may have been the best change they've made so far. Either that or the comeback mechanic being scrapped.
This slaanesh player just threw his units into that chokepoint meat grinder. He should've used his high ground deployment zone to get some infantry on two different fronts. He also could've just sat back on his two low ground points for as long as possible.
gg. Lothern seaguard are one of the units most helped by the buff to martial prowess. They used to turn into wimpy archers halfways through a match. now they remain serious durable infantry for most of their lifespan.
No joke I literally used that exact same starting army yesterday and earlier this week! I've always thought Lothern Sea Guards were a sleeper hit since Warhammer 2, glad to see them getting some use!
Damn. That was some excellent High Elf play
I think the best way to make the High Elves more competitive would be to increase the armour on their "light armour" units (e.g. spearmen, archers w/ light armour, ellyrian reavers, and all the other 40 armour units). If they increased the armour on these units from 40 to 50, I think high elf infantry would trade much better in the front lines and the archers would skirmish more efficient as well. Not that they're complete trash at the moment or anything, but if CA wanted to give them some love i think that would go a long way. Plus, I've always felt their badass looking armour didn't quite match up with its stats.
I think they just need more health. Reduce the entity numbers on a unit and increase the health of each individual model, and spread out the formations. It would be lore-accurate as there are few High Elves, but the High Magic of Caledor in Ulthuan strengthens their mind and body, and each elf is very individualistic so they often try to seek out duels on the battlefield instead of remaining in tight formation.
TBH we've had some serious armor creep with all of the factions, which facilitated AP creep also. I feel we need _less_ armor so that those units that are armored to the teeth actually feel like tough nuts to crack instead of just slightly more durable.
Ah the games workshop tale as old as time of armor, armor piercing, saves. God I love how tabletop translates so well. Cant wait for warhammer 4 where we remove ward saves.
The thing about High Elves is... that Spearmen and Rangers are not good. But often people try to bring them anyway based on the idea "they are the cheapest." But as we saw here, it is better to get quality instead. Lothern bows were singing this day!
Yes! They are designed to be played with a small number of elite units, *especially* when resources are limited. And it seems people are figuring that out.
Slaanesh literally just trickled into a checkerboard, as you said, like a campaign AI. They should have conceded the cap and waited for an alphastrike with a shitload of daemonettes sweeping in from the high ground.
Masterclass in HE. Well played.
A Star Dragon?! At this rate tomorrow’s video’s gonna feature a Grail Relique and and an opposing TK army’s gonna just insta-fold.
Truly the haggard shall inherit the meta.
Tru pawa of domination mode, using all the possible tactics))
I just love that terrain can be used and matters, as opposed to the only thing being flat maps that are even for everyone.
You could tell Turin was suffering from Slanneshi corruption during this play call with the amount of times he said rock hard. Lol.
The Slaanesh player, I'm certain, wasn't trying to save up 4000 points to summon all at once after the game was already out of hand. I'm surprised you weren't harping on that constantly. He might have gone almost 5 minutes without summoning any reinforcements. Slaanesh out trades other factions. You attack from all angles all at once and try to use feigned retreats into counter-charges. The map and slaanesh player helped that HE victory quite a bit.
the slaanesh player tried butting his head against the only place he shouldn't have attacked from. i don't know what he expected mass charging into a thin uphill battle against mass spear/archers. buddy was just asking to lose. he should have moved half of his forces back up to the hill and then sent the fiends into his spawn so they can pressure the cavalry spawns. that way the high elf player is surrounded and cut off from reinforcements
7:10 "Slaanesh doesn´t play well from behind" - Turin
Turin didn't notice but the Slaanesh player was keeping a lot of gold in reserve, anticipating that his position in the middle would buckle during the midgame and the elves would move in. However, the HE player didin't get greedy and pushed down the hill rather conservatively, so the force the Slaanesh player summoned (4K's worth of Seeker cav and some Marauders) ended up ripped to shreds by arrow fire, spear walls, and heavy cav lances.
It's great to see Lothern Sea Guard being picked up in competitive play, I really love that unit!
Great work as usual @turin, your knowledge and casting skills really make for an entertaining watch :)
You talked a lot about TK being the strongest faction, but I feel like with your videos we always see things you view as "unusual", it would be neat to see some more standard battles so we can see more what the "meta" looks like.
Top factions usually banned in tournaments that's why they don't appear here much.
Azazel is great at routing units. -14 from the rear charge, -16 from his sword and then the spell he can use means you can insta-rout low hp units
7:09 "Slannesh is probably one of the factions that really doesn't play well from behind. They're usually one that is going to be very dominant-"
Ok I've heard enough
He uses dragonborn the same way I used Great Weapon Ogre Crushers at launch. Late game when the steam has kind of run out, just a big old mobile goon unit that isn't really afraid of anything. Noone expected it, they still don't. I hope to see haggard crushers soon.
I mostly only played HE in war2, im so glad there are actually very good in war3, they are so many ways to play them in domination, it's fantastic. The new domination is a big hit, the "DLC TEAM" is going an amazing job.
Is this a favourite amongst the domination maps? Feel like I see it all the time.
This map, Itza, and black ark are the best maps imo. Nice to have some open ground to maneuver. Maybe that’s why
1 of 3 really good ones, that'll be changing soon fear not!
its fun to see people not just spamming marauders in tournaments
that dragon really seemed to hard counter Azazel, not in that it could just engage him, that purple ass would just fly away, but the dragon is so oppressive that it kept Azazel away, rendering him mostly useless.
I'm positive that in this particular game an arcane Phoenix could have been even more opressive, as it is quick enought to catch azazel on Air and its a great duelist to boot. I aways feel like dragons are best vs heavy infantry / cavalry, with their big AP and wide splash.
HEAVY. METAL. ELVES. ⚔ Been hoping to see this match for like a week. Great content lately. Loved your luminark victory vs. VC, and even found myself rooting for the foul Dawi against the fouler TK.
I don't like high elves, but legit, this was a *beautiful* game, not since that vermintide match you streamed have I seen a strategy so perfectly executed. This is the only time I like seeing lopsided games which normally kinda drag, cause they tend to be caused by lots of little outplays, but when you see a strat just perfectly executed it's *chef's kiss*
This game made me very happy to watch go high elves!
I was expecting a massive smackdown when I saw the Turn 10 Campaign Army for the High Elves, and.... yes, there was in fact a smackdown. Lothern Sea Guard ain't here to play.
Awesome battle! Thank you for showing it!
2:35 Star Dragon meta LOL
The slaneeshi successfully made the elves poke them with their spears so that's a win in some way
I really believe it is impossible to not talk about Slaanesh battles without some innuendos
i cannot thank Turin enof for this video giving hope for all H elves players like me, seeing a super top tear faction being destroyed, by an underperforming one is gold.
Literally never seen the fiends before
To be fair, have you ever met a Lothern Sea Guard in real life? I wouldn't want to mess with them.
More maps need impassable or real terrain slows, along with better pathfinding. Taking and holding areas of the map could be a big part of the battle.
The dreaded 8 lothern sea guards opening
Looove the High Elves standing in front of, and defending on of their own settlements
6:59 for about 20-30 seconds Turin speaks fluent double entendre
I loved this! Seeing different builds and uncommon units thrive is the true joy of watching multiplayer!
I’m guessing the Slaanesh player probably should have packed some chaos warriors for this one? They would’ve done better vs the arrow fire and can even fight fine uphill because of strider.
It´s nice when lothern seaguard just hardcounters 90% of your roster.
I just made like 8 sandwiches for my holiday, I sit down and the Slaanesh guy is called...dude.
Such ancient beings deserve a second buff like martial prowess, something like 5 armor and 5% spell resistance until they start wavering would be nice and give more of a magical aspect to elves. It makes sense since elves enchant their armor!
Why this Slaanesh guy even pushed at high ground in a choke point? It was just SOOOOOOOOOOOO stupid. Just sit on your 2 points and whait high elves to come at you.
he knew his build was kind of hard countered i think. if he sat back the elves could take the two cap and he'd have to assault them anyway.
@@eumaies assault in wide open field is 10 times better then assault from low ground in the choke point.
he could not hold the center whit so many arrows and magic being used, the units would melt anyway giving the amazing H elve player position actualy whit that build i canot see a way slanech could win this game on that map whit that build, and iam happy for it, a underperforming faction like h elve against top tear faction is realy good.
@@DanielCosta-zp6jl After he captured the center it would remained capped even if he pulled all of his units of the point. At that point HE player has to send some units down to capture and you can either assault the top point or just run off any units that push down off the hill. Attacking an entrenched opponent on a hill when you have a double cap is about the worst possible play you can make in dom period.
This is, why they called it Domination Mode! Wow!
High elves really played their position well, anyone would expect Slaanesh to win this fight, especially after the elves missed a dragon breath, sun fang and a pit of shades at the beginning but God damn they brought it home
Putting Azazel back in the water
Damn, that Slaanesh army really got butchered. I feel like that fight would have been super winnable for them if they'd have used their mobility to surround (IE, they could have pressed that HE army from 3 sides, primarily from the Slaanesh side of the cliff approach, but also they could have run cavalry up and around the back as well as sending in just a few infantry up the hill after the main engagement to get that full surround, rather than taking that uphill choke charge into a shooting gallery with their entire force)
I'm just gonna assume Azazel wanted to sub when he signed up for this domination game
Never though I'd be rooting for a staunch line of spears.
To be honest come to think of it, there is nothing that comes to mind which Slaanesh can bring to counter a large, flying Board-sweeper unit. This would probably work with Malekith as well, if the Dark Elves had units with similar staying power like Sea guard.
1 CP reroll hits and wounds; the great enemy strat - 9th edition Aeldari codex
Awesome to see apparent low tier factions breaking some balls.
Did I just watch someone feed Slaanesh units one at a time at bow lines?
Nice to see an HE victory.
Who knew seamen would be so good vs Slaanesh.
This was so awesome!!! Loved seeing the big dragon come out, high elves take down the top tier!! This game is amazing
Slaanesh should've just waited with the 2 cap until the elves pushed out.
The middle point box is still in bow range of the base of the choke point.
They could have exercised a little more patience and consolidated their forces into an alpha strike, but they were always going to have to attack that choke point, or else the elves just march 2-3 Seaguard to the north edge of the capture point and just shoot any Slaaneshi forces off the point.
@@boosterh1113 at 3:41 in the video we see slaannesh has the 2 cap with only losing 200 value. At that point if he pulled back and forced the archers to advance out of the choke point he could've had a much easier time enveloping the elfs and taking them out.
Nothing like a HE victory to warm the heart ❤️🙂
Sheesh... I've never seen a Slaanesh player get dominated like that. What Slaanesh build could have countered that lothern sea guard checker board?
Any build that didn't bring so many sketchy Slaanesh units. Fiends and Hellscourge marauders aren't great choices at base. Cutting those for some S&B chaos warriors or Forsaken would have given the build a much better chance against arrow spam. That and a blob busting spell would go a long way to improving the Slaanesh players chances though the biggest issue was the Slaanesh player trickling units in without a goal. After getting the two cap simply pulling back and waiting for the High Elves to pull some troops off the hill would have been a much better line of play.
Any build that didn't charge uphill into spears and arrows like an idiot
Seems to me Brett could do something like this...bog everything down through massive numbers, shoot them apart...bring in the knights, have fly lords to run off the lord.
Never sleep on the High Elf Marines.
love fiends! the movements just feel so fluid and hypnotic and... well slaaneshi i guess
Feels like Slaneesh outplayed themself
What an abysmal Slaanesh play
This was awesome!
I feel like a handful of harpies and slicing shards would have made this a very different game.
HE showdown is a masterclass o_o
I had a game play as Kislev vs HE
He bring silverin and sea guards
Both of them have shields, and anti large, so they don’t afraid of missiles and cavalry
That moment I realised how bullshit it is
My tzarguard ,heavy kossar and war sled can’t kill them
They are weak to artillery tho, I play skaven and have rattling gun in reinforce army, if they just to cast magic/ rush my artillery I just summon rattling gun and melt them
I hope ItalianSpartacus sees this one!
HE player certainly played GREAT, but that Slaanesh player was meming with army comp and general play -.-
When tomb kings infantry was getting dumpstered by fire magic, nobody (higher players) was complaining. the thing is they're still weak to fire. the constructs were never weak to fire. so build accordingly.
Tk were never weak to fire apart from characters
the thing is that Burning Head was heavily nerfed and it was THE counter to the low armor infantry TK had
except now TK have way more healing and their hard counter was nerfed heavily without recieving any nerf in return hence the situation
@@kroxigordundee7767 the situation sucks cause even if realm of souls is overtunned now it is holding the entire faction up. It was worthless for so long. When it gets nerfed I see TKs falling down to lower mid tier depending on how hard it goes.
@@ScrumChum I agree I'd say boost TG to decent armor values (and boost big beasts) then you can safely nerf RoS
ANI-HI-LATE THEM!
Would have liked to have seen the Slaanesh player using their mobility more, no reason to just let the elves reinforce their position when you could be spawn camping. Lash of Slaanesh really under utilized to disrupt the lothern formations. GG Elf player good strats
Hi guys, sry if it's out of context but i found that siege battle map types like scrag hole are bugged in campaign, the enemies will stand outside of the settlement and never go in, it's good cheese but it's also too easy, where should i write it so CA cam see it
It's all units except flyers
Hey Sir Turin, just overlooked last 2 weeks, an most things i see is tournemant ( i like ) and domnination mod. ( for me for watch its a bit boring) can u make mix in pvp normal and domination games
I am really thinking that SL player missplay a big time. He have quite a great position to make HE to go down to him, but instead he throw maruders on the spears creating just the most ideal situation for LSG to shine.
considering how good slaanesh dodges the pit of shades, does light wizard better in this matchup? using net and shem's burning gaze, azazel absolutely don't want to get near the archer lines. don't even need the star dragon
What are the good maps?
Well that was a massacre
This match for me was not realy the high elves playing perfect( but he did used his army well),but was a guy with alot of infantary butting his head in a chokepoint and geting destroyed by arrows. That was painful, i guess you can say the slaanesh player got outplayed in all aspects.
Can someone help me understand why I don't have access to certain lores of magic for some factions? I see Turin using jade wizards for empire but I can't recruit them for my ranked pvp games
i think you have to link your in game account with the ca account, in the main menu there should be a button called link your account or something, after that restart and click on the claim rewards button
Turin funny you should make that auctioneer comment because every time my wife hears me watching one of your videos she always points out how fast you talk.
I hear that's a common thing that people point out about Californians. They talk reeeeally fast in Turin's home state
Slaneesh should be a hard counter to elves in my opinion
Slaanesh is my favorite faction, but it's nice to see an OP faction get destroyed like this. nice to NOT see horseman spam too.....
Lets go elves!
It was a really good match😀
High Testosterone Elves
I know he’s not bad, but I’m sorry, I just have trouble taking Azazel seriously after his Titanic reenactment moment.

So the high elves suck against everything but the best factions?
That didn't look like a low tier performance from High Elves.
