Get leads, open houses, real estate exam, and my 2 tips!

1) What is the best way to get business/leads?
-Work your sphere of influence - family, friends, co-workers, etc.
-Zillow leads (either given from agent in buyer lead program or purchase a zip code)

-Holding open houses for listing agents
2) How does an 'open house' work and what is the purpose of holding them?
-buyer agent holds them open for the listing agent (from any company)
-For agents to find buyers/leads
3) How many questions are on the exam?
-National portion, 65-85 (100pts available)
-State portion, around 55 (100pts available)
Tip #1
-Have $1k-2k saved for real estate expenses / fees
-Have 3-6 months financial reserve to live on
Tip #2
-Worry more about how the broker will help you find, manage, and deal with leads over what the commission split will be. If you don't have any deals, you won't have anything to split!

So I live outside of Houston, TX in Sugar Land and I have been contemplating getting my license. I have loved looking at houses since I was a child and would look at the houses for sale in the newspaper (way before Zillow and such). I have found houses for a ton of friends by just searching and now it is time for me to do it for myself as a career. I have 3 kids and want something that is flexible so that I don't have to miss out with things that involve my family and faith and figured since this is my passion, why not! I am meeting with a realtor this Friday to pick her brain, she just started selling a few months ago and is willing to sit down with me to discuss her path so far. I have enjoyed all of your videos which by the way, you sound just like Sandra Bullock, lol. I am scared to death to take the test but I have decided a few months ago to go to Champions School, I know that will definitely help me! I just found your videos today and have watched them all and I really hope that you will continue to post more, I am now a new subscriber!!
