Hello Mr aviary all the way down from Tampa, FL. I am pretty bummed out waking up to my female zebra finch dead in the cage. About a week ago It had laid around four eggs. Back in August of this year I bought her a male zebra finch except he was a lot brighter and bolder looking. I had joined them together with another zebra finch couple only to later separate them again because the new male Finch started aggressively bullying them. What could have killed my female Finch. Could it have been laying so many eggs or could have the new male Finch killed her? There was no visible exterior injury on her. Thank you for all of your advice and God bless you.

Could have many reason difficult to say, however if you don't see any injuries I would not suspect the male.
