- Decided to continue the process of dumping the remaining battling footage from bdsp that has been sitting on my pc for several months so it doesn't go to waste when I start cleaning up my pc. I decided to build around a Chatot in VGC and came up with this hilarious team around their Tangled Feet ability. According to Bulbapedia, Tangled Feet halves the accuracy of moves affecting the target so Hypnosis would have around 30% chance of hitting, which means it would hit all the time since it's Focus Blast but backwards.

I think my favorite areas are New Bark Town and Verdanturf Town. Love the music and the cozy feel of those places, like a tiny community in the woods somewhere.

I don’t get why transfer moves weren’t allowed when there isn’t even a competitive online ladder. It’s just a pain in the butt to team build competitively when TM’s aren’t reusable or obtainable more than a finite number of times.
Just learned today that forretress cannot learn stealth rocks in this game only.
Seems like lazy programming to me.

I actually run Dragon Rush on my Garchomp, but I also run Hone Claws to cover the reduction in accuracy (~99% Accurate). It also helps shore up Stone Edge's accuracy.

On Hypnosis vs Tangled Feet:
Hypnosis has a 60% chance to hit in Gen 8. Then we look at Politoed's accuracy and Chatot's evasion modifiers.
Politoed's value is neutral, so just 1 but Chatot has one evasion boost.
Unlike other boosts which add or take 50%, accuracy and evasion add or take 33%.
So Chatot has an evasion value of 4/3 which turns into an accuracy modifier of 3/4 if we flip it around.
3/4 is 0,75 or 75% and 75% of the base 60% hit chance of Hypnosis gives us a final value of 45% for Hypnosis to hit through Tangled Feet.
I have NEVER seen Quash being used seriously in any non-metronome conditions. Mind. Boggling.

Solid vid as always (much better than liquid vid; sorry, I’m drunk so I think I’m funny). I see an ability like Tangled Feet and think, “well, this is kinda pointless and conditional,” but you figure out how to make it work, and that’s really cool. Typhlosion is amazing. I’m currently playing the Legends: Arceus game where it got a revamp, so seeing the OG Typhlosion form was a bit of a surprise at first. Sad that you didn’t get a rematch with the first opponent; they seemed cool (despite the Garchomp).
QotD is hard. Goldenrod City will always be nostalgic for me; it’s the first city I reached in a Pokemon game where I felt like I earned it, and it was sufficiently big and city-like to be explored. The random islands in Ruby where you can go and only answer YES or NO when a guy asks you about your hometown were also fun, even though I got sick of running into wild mons while surfing. Oh, but if we’re counting Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, I liked the Gummi café a lot (I think Spinda ran it? Maybe it had nothing to do with Gummis and I’m misremembering). The movie studio in Pokémon White and Black 2 where I spent way too much time trying to get the Weird Endings. Pretty much every new place in the Legends Arceus game. I don’t know, there’s too many places.
Side note urgent question: does anyone have a link to the video where Weedle fought someone in Doubles with a Contrary Serperior on their team and I think Ally Switch? The background was a classroom, I think, but I don’t remember the game. They ultimately lost that battle, but it was a good fight; I think they won against their first opponent. It’s been driving me crazy; it distracted me for a full minute while watching this video and I had to rewind to understand what was happening. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.
(I found it. The reason I’m commenting on my own comment to share this was because it’s actually another Chatot vid, focusing on the Aerialate ability. Funny how the brain works sometimes; I had completely forgotten that until I saw it again.)
