- How to fix Stripped Spark plug threads on a Chainsaw or any small engine permanently. Working on a Stihl 039 Chainsaw that had some Stripped threads so I ordered the Sav A THREAD kit from Amazon... here is the link amzn.to/42A56rI
It works really good and is relatively easy if you take your time. This was literally My first time doing it, so if I can do it Anybody can!

It's good to see you back
Thanks Marty! Appreciate it Brother 😉
Lots of builders seem to think that method works great! Only time will tell! Good work sir!
Thanks Ted, seems legit so far😉
I'm aware of these but haven't tried one. Looks like a winner!
Works good!😁
Helicoil for the win!
Yessir!😁

Awesome tool. Thanks Dan!
Easier than I thought!😉
Nice! Thanks for sharing! My 55 has been taken apart so many times through doing mods etc. the head is getting a bit questionable so this trick may come in handy if I get too heavy handed 👍
No problem buddy, yeah it's actually easier than I thought 😁
Looks like a good kit. I need to get one for an old McCulloch.
Dan Approved!

Thanks man!
This video came at a good time for me. I have reciently got a 1200A Pioneer that the plug is stripped out. smooth not a bit of threads left.
Should work good for that!😁
Same saw,same problem!.. nice!.. 👌👍🤙🏽
Works great Dani! Mahalo Brother 😁
@@KainKustomGarage yeah man used the exact heli coil on the exact saw!..lol..Take care buddy!..ALOHA!.👍🤙🏽
Nicely done 👍👊. Your on a first name basis with the thrift store owner! Should we be worried about you?😜🤣🤣
Haha! I know right 🤪
Interesting . I wonder if heating and cooling over time would loosen it up, being steel in a aluminum head .
The insert itself has a type of knurled exterior and when it’s finally installed, THEN to finish the job correctly it requires you to give it a very good whack of the particular tool that’s included with the kit so that you expand the top of the insert for 2 reasons: #1 is to make it easier to accept a plug, #2 is to make the insert mechanically lock itself into the surrounding material. I hope that this explanation helps. You’re also going to want to use some VERY good thread locking compound that is better than blue. Use some brake parts cleaner and REALLY get rid of any traces of petroleum and then you’ll most likely be okay with some red, but I like the green (sleeve retainer). It’s more costly but less than a replacement cylinder and labor.
@@ToddAdams1234 thanks for the information about the thread locker, I want to try this on a lawn mower I have with a striped plug.
Good point, I was reading Todd's comment and it was very helpful
Iv got saws iv had 30 years never once had striped spark plug lol
I know right, just gotta be careful 😁
Thanks for the tip. Also, I have an old Av032. It kicks like a mule when I start it, what am I missing on setting the motor to pull the cord? Thanks.
Thanks Alan, that's interesting, the 032 shouldn't pull over that hard, only thing I can think if is timing is off, but I can't remember if it's adjustable on those...
@@KainKustomGarage thanks for the reply. I will check that out.
Love your videos! Just curious how you stabilize your saw fuel! I know there's a lot of additives out there. This would be a good write up!
Thanks man, honestly I don't use any, I just use non ethanol fuel and start em once in a while, if they're going to sit long term then I drain the fuel and run it dry....😁
Good @@KainKustomGarage
Good info! Keep it simple!
When do you think you're going to start on the MS- 440 project
