    A deck that actually takes advantage of the mechanics of the game instead of relying on a 15-20 dmg combo? is this still HearthStone?

    • @xlxTurBoxIx
      @xlxTurBoxIx Před 9 lety +2

      lass7212 I would agree with you except that Kripp reflected on the past year for deck innovation since GvG in a previous video called "GvG Season 1: An Overview" and stated that none of the decks within the past year have been innovative besides his mill druid which wasn't good enough to stand up to aggro and up until recently this one. Furthermore he mention within this video at 1:03, that this is the most innovative deck since giants mage literally a year ago. Therefore I conclude that though it can be viewed as an intended joke, it is more likely that it is a reflection on the past year and not this one.

      I'm starting to dislike Kripp's personality and double standards more with each video. The only reason I still follow him is because most of the topics of his videos are interesting enough to look past the person talking.
      zhifago Well that's just bullshit. Every single card game, physical or not, is filled with netdeckers at all levels of play, reagardless of the cost of the deck. By your logic no-one would ever, ever netdeck a Control Warrior deck therefor you'd never be able to see one in ladder, and that's just a lie.

    Great video! I love this deck now. Use it all the time. I made only one change due to the consistent matches I was getting. I removed Ooze and added Ancient of War. I was not seeing many weapons over a 3 days span and the Ancient was a real nightmare for my opponents, even if they had to use a silence and leave the 5/5 on the board. It pretty much pushed me past two extra turns and left the opponent holding more draws which led to stronger milling. Either way, great deck and video. Thanks for posting this.

  • @PatriciaCross
    @PatriciaCross Před 9 lety +6

    This deck stands out for having absolutely 0 RNG in it aside from card draw. I expected that of this game; where enough cards would see print it would be possible to build decks without any RNG at all and the fact you plays are completely non-random is a huge advantage.

    • @sinephase
      @sinephase Před 9 lety

      You can do that with mostly (non-RNG) minions too and that won't work a lot of the time.

    • @PatriciaCross
      @PatriciaCross Před 9 lety

      sinephase That is because most of the really game changing effects in the game have been made random. To have a strong deck you wind up having to rely on them. Many of them you can mitigate the randomness somewhat and such cards usually wind up being the best in the game. However this deck is going completely the other direction and rather than trying to do anything gamebreaking to win it instead just shuts the game down completely. If Druid ever gets a better board wipe than Poison Seeds this will be a really brutal deck.

    I've tried replacing one of the starfires with a force of nature. I find it works well because a) its potentially 1 more point of damage, and b) it doesn't cause you to draw, which can actually be an advantage with this deck at some point. It obviously has some disadvantages as well (ie. sometimes they have a taunt, or sometimes you'll waste a point of damage), but I think one is a valid consideration.

It's played in the current esl and it includes twisting nether, mistress of pain, demon heart, fel cannon and a few other wierd combos. More shockingly it doesn't include cards you'd expect, such as a voidterror for a demonlock or flame imps for zoo or any aspects of handlock. It's currently 4-5 in the esl games.

    I have no money to invest in this game, but my idea of a deck was a norzdormu + double sludge belcher + mogor the ogre, and make it so that anything your opponent plays\ attacks takes a long time to do, and they don't have time to make any brilliant plays. Good idea?

    • @fishwithoutwings
      @fishwithoutwings Před 9 lety

      That would be funny. It would also be a great counter to a Gadgetzan or two Northshire Clerics... I had Nozdormu for a few days before I disenchanted it. It was a fun card but more annoying than anything else. If it gets polymorphed you have to endure the rest of the game with the particle effect :/ It's better to get Onyxia, as one of many examples. Then they have to worry about an 8/8 and a bunch of whelps you might buff with savage roar.

    • @Thmyris
      @Thmyris Před 9 lety

      Nozdormu isnt any good now if it was 10seconds instead of 15 it would be so op. You could make your spells last for an entire turn of the enemy with lorewalker cho and keep doing that until you win

    • @fishwithoutwings
      @fishwithoutwings Před 9 lety +2

      Thmyris
      Nozdormu plus multiple Lorewalker cho with faceless is hilarious because it causes some gamebreaking bugs. There's a Randuin Wrynn episode of this on Noxious' channel. There was a point where the game was so bugged his opponent had 8 minions on the field.

    Blizzard hates innovative Decks, they hate combos and deep Mechanics. They like Money and his 11-15 years old customer - thats why this game will never be competitive.
    Ever thinked about what "win streak" function and online matchmaking means?
    Its Math... and the Answer is: Its isnt competitive.

      Jauzas savoheJ If you're talking Standard or really any 60 card format, MtG is just as full of cancerous netdeckers who only know how to play one deck as HS. Innovators like Frank Lepore, Conley Woods, and Ali Aintrazi are scoffed at. At this point Wizards is just printing money and the people are eating it up.
      The only reason I still play is all my friends are into EDH, which is actually a really well balanced and fun format if you don't spend more than a couple hundred on a deck.

      BBukeeB mtg used to be very deep before they changed it more and more to appeal to a larger target group of young people. and even now, after making the game childish and more straight forward, it is 10 times more competitive and complex than hearthstone. hearthstone is basically the worst case scenario for magic in terms of complexity, but the limited amount of cards allow awesome online play and a more arcade type of action. because of that hearthstone is actually more fun to play (for me) right now, and what they achieved with such a short time and limited cards is quite impressive. still, mtg used to be the far superior game in its prime, and while i haven't played it in years, but i'd very surprised if it has gotten down to the complexity of hs.

      Guys you really saying Hearthstone is a "deep" Cardgame? Honestly - play some Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Highlander or whatevz and you will feel "quite" a difference. Even Standard Format and these crappy Magic online Games have more "Deepness
      as you will ever see it in Hearthstone. Thats it. There are no "deep" Decks in Hearthstone and the only Deck which was comming close to (yea i type it again) "Deep" was the miracle Rouge because this Deck didnt used too much of RNG and different Mechanics.
      Hearthstone is good for these braindead evenings where you just want to play something without using your Head but getting Success aswell. Just smashing Cards on the Board without thinking about it too much. And if you did a Mistake? Game dont Care... RNG will do like 80% of the Game - Its Math. There are several sites wich will show you a "deep" feeling for RNG and RNG in Hearthstone.
      I`ve hitted legendary in three, barely, four times and i can tell you what "getting"legendary is about. Its about time consume and thats it (at a specific point.. would at rank 5+)
      Ever thinked about what implementing a "Win Streak" function mean? Its Math again.
      im out, boys.

    You see, this is the kind of deck I absolutely CANNOT STAND: This falls into the category of "I am not going to really play the game with you."
    Literally all this deck does is just waits you out, that's it. I actually don't get to play the game with an opponent, and it's so silly. This is the sort of reason people disliked miracle rogue and freeze mage. Miracle rogue would spend half the game filtering through their deck and win the game, freeze mage would have nothing but answers (you also can't kill them cuz ice block) and then you just get Alex'd and win.
    If any of you have played magic the gathering in the modern format, you probably understand what I am saying if you know what the storm deck is.
    I get it, control warrior can be slightly annoying, but at least they play the freaking game, and they give you something to react to.
    Honestly, this deck works against a lot of people because they don't really expect it, but it does in fact work. Nevertheless, I hate this because it feels like I am just throwing out cards against somebody who isn't even willing to play the game against me.
    This does not mean the decks aren't beatable, just frustrating to play against.

    I actually developed a deck just like this, but it's still under construction. Its a paladin though. Been trying to make it viable for a long time, but even though GVG helped, it still lacks a few cards to really make it top tier.
    It uses paladin because of the efficient board clears (equality pyro consecrate) and follow the rules/humilty to render cards useless in terms of health - along with stuff like MCT, deathlord, sticky taunts like sludge belcher, lots of healing, etc.
    Exact same idea, and its weird to finally see the meta / famous HS players find it out as well

    I've been playing this deck and I really like it. I've swapped in some giants since either the opponent or I usually have alot of cards, so it packs some punch if needed. Mountain giant for my hand and clockwork for theirs. Perhaps the best thing about this deck, aside from the fact it wins alot, is that there is really no bad draw for your opening hand. Unless you get all your healing cards the opening hand will be useful.

    As response to the comments below about miracle. Miracle rogue isn't dead. It just has another form. It doesn't need GGZ auctioneer to be viable anymore. I often win with miracle without having drawn auctioneer. Besides you can always have 2 prep + 2sprint combo for 4 mana = 8 cards which is often more draw then when an auctioneer gets played.

    I took out the ooze and added another tree of life. To me it feels a little more safe with how expensive tree of life is to use. I have been doing really well with it like that. The only time I've missed the ooze was with an oil rogue, but even then I outlasted them without issue. It feels like this deck has to most issues against other mill rogues since gang up is a lot stronger than naturalize and some weapon face warriors can do more than expected quicker than expected.

    yeah... idk if I'm convinced by this... like I was just playing against almost this exact class as a kinda weird mech/handlock warlock (I don't have enough cards to make a full handlock), and I didn't even really know what this deck was at first, so thinking that it was just mill I didn't tap at all, and once I saw the first poison seeds/starfall, I was able to force the second one out pretty easily with only two minions on board, after which both of us went into fatigue and I was actually able to outlast the druid with the antique and 2 other minions I had in hand...

    so that's why I've seen this deck a few times, and it's pretty easy to win against. if you can maintain board control, all the healing just postpones the inevitable for a few turns.

    Cold Light Oracle and Youthful Brewmaster have been used for a while as a combo at the end. I've lost against several different classes using the 'last until they run out of cards then hit you for crazy fatigue damage' technique before GvG even came out. The first couple times I kept thinking wtf is this guy doing? Then realized nothing I did would help against it. Have also ran into multiple other classes using this idea and its crazy. When I do 80+ total damage to a warrior who's still alive, its usually time to just concede.
