They didn’t listen and that’s disastrous for a party. They ignored and showed complete disregard for what the people were saying. They had it in the palm of their hands and decided to go WOKE. End of story

They gifted these seats to the government. Now they are in real trouble because they have lost the core vote, granted that core is not woke, or pro immigration.SF have completely lost their way. Independent Ireland will wipe the floor with SF unless they wake up and come out for what is right and not left or right.

Griffith initially proposed a dual monarchy, where Ireland and Great Britain would have a shared monarch but separate governments, similar to the arrangement between Austria and Hungary. This idea was influenced by his work on the parallels between Irish and Hungarian nationalism.😉

Sinn Fein after getting so close to power in the last general election tried to gain some respectability by going after the middle class vote. They did this by mirroring the coalition government's stance on open borders in the hope that the globalist/pro EU crowd would vote for them. In doing so they turned their backs on their usual voter base, the working class, who are always a majority in most countries and so they shot themselves in the foot. Absolutely delighted for them.
If they had sided with their own people they would have dominated this election but now people and their families who have voted for Sinn Fein their whole lives will never vote for them again. Epic failure.

SF were never anti-immigration, if you look at what they have been saying for the past 20 years, they have been full on open borders globalists. In 2019 they tried to pass a vote in the Dail which would have reversed the Referendum result on not allowing birthright citizenship. If that had passed our country would have been flooded with foreigners popping out babies who by virtue of just being born here would have been deemed Irish citizens. They are dangerous Marxist charlatans. Make no mistake, if they get into power, they will look to import half of the Palestinian population into Ireland. If that happens, our country is finished.

The country was sold out by Gareth fitzgerald to nato in 1983 when he met Helmut Kohl in bonn. Put it under secrecy for 30 years, the irrational irish and their want of neutrality was discussed as was the use of the troubles to remove the territorial claim to northern Ireland. So that we could join nato. In 1997 that plan was fulfilled.

But what precisely has Simon Harris done for Fine Gael? How many FG candidates have been elected in LOCAL and in EUROPEAN elections?
In fact what has S Harris done for Ireland or its people? Let us not forget that he is an unelected Taoiseach, plus appointed only after no less than 15 counts by own peers🙄!!
What message can there be for USA Joe Biden - Democrats or Trump Republicans?

Voter apathy. Total failure of Sinn Fein to jump on the main problem facing this country. Governments failure to only accept the number of immigrants to be accommodated in houses built and financed by the EU. It is insanity to take in people if you have nowhere to house them. Sinn Fein should have been lambasting the opposition for agreeing to take in so many people without the necessary accommodation to house them.

Did they give them any bigger vote than they already had in Local Councils, which until people started asking questions, it wasn't something one would have known or had interest in , ie I live in Galway I wouldn't have known the make of Donegal or Cork or any far away Council. As for the electorate being smart , I think they are smart when something is to be gained rather than research the overall well-being of our Country & fellow citizens.

It's a slight improvement on their bad local election in 2019, but they only got half the vote share they got in 2020 general election. They were polling over 30% last year. In that context it is a very disappointing result of about 11% and their top people acknowledged that already. Workers party gets very little support from voters.
