    Awesome video! I loved how you train the whole team all at once with a lure machine. Great trade offs, no fights at all.

      @@Hawk-riders Will ask you how to bring to HH together for a.cast .. Just bring on a young MHH and got him entered... I am a newbie but one day.. one distant day I hope to fly a cast 🙏

      Hi mate, it’s better to get them young, but if you wanna fly a cast just have them bowed out together and feed them together, so they can’t get to each other and see how they bond 😀

    I have seen many videos, but you are the one who we can call a true professional falconer :)
    Actually I am new to falconry, and I have a lot of questions which I need answers to, I have been searching, but still I need some support, so I wonder if you can offer some :)

      Harris hawks are great birds to work and fly, my advice is join a club and learn from people that way😃

    Do you house them together in the mews all year round, flying weight/full crop?? Any advice for doing so?

    • @Hawk-riders
      @Hawk-riders  Před 3 lety

      Hi mate, I have 3 males that all live together, but there all flown most of the year for demos/pest control and hunting as well, so when there all flying they live in a big mews so they can all see each other. But during moults we take the female away.

    Why my kestrel poops every 10 minutes?, Idk but I think that's because I feed him a lot per day.

    Can you tell me why common buzzards Buteo Buteo are not good for falconry? Too heavy and slow? They seem very similar to red tail Hawks or other from their family that are used though

    • @Hawk-riders
      @Hawk-riders  Před 3 lety

      There ok and we’re used, but there are much better and more aggressive hunting birds out there. There good for demos we have 2

    • @orphydianwildlife473
      @orphydianwildlife473 Před 3 lety

      @@Hawk-riders can you share some videos on them being used on the hunt ! I only found a couple but only for demos.
      It such a shame because they are very beautifull and robust birds of prey. They are like eagles in miniature and the best part is that they are evrywhere.
      It very easy to spot buteo buteo in any part of europe if you go in the open They seem very capable hunters and good aerial acrobats.They arent enough agressive when being used in falconry or in general even in the wild they dont atack bigger prey ? I often seem them stealing the prey from goshawks or sparowhawks by driving them off the prey agressively .

    • @Hawk-riders
      @Hawk-riders  Před 3 lety +1

      In England not many people really hunt them as there not that aggressive, so most people use Harris hawks or goshawks

    Fun fact a Harris’s hawk is a buzzard not a hawk.
