  • Probably my favourite walk, so far, in the Peak District. The views from Bamford Edge are amazing and don't seem a fair trade for such an easy climb to get on top, a must do for any novice hiker that wants to start with something straight forward, but ridiculously rewarding.

Hi, Thanks for your interest. Try this link below to the garmin route that I tracked.
      connect.garmin.com/modern/course/185712966
Or, if that doesn't work then feel free to look at the route on my Strava profile and see what you can do with that.

Failing that it is quite an easy one to navigate. Park at Heatherdene on the East side of Ladybower or the Ladybower Inn. Cross the Dam and turn right. Take the second left after turning and that will take you up to Win Hill. Come off the Hill on the East side down the really steep forest path, then at the bottom turn right towards Bamford, with the river to your left. Cut through a small gap to the left and go across the fields to the Mill. Cross the Mill stream then head straight up into the village across the road then keep going straight up Bamford Clough. You'll see Bamford Edge once you get to the top of the clough. walk North along Bamford Edge until it drops down back into the back end of Heatherdene car park. Enjoy. It's a wonderful route.

@@rodz_routes thanks. the route does look pretty straight forward but ive never been to the Peak District. Luckily ive booked the full day to do it, plus a short drive to Winnats Pass afterwards

@@DRPHOTOGRAPHYPOV17 great idea. If you feel brave you can take a path from Win Hill all the way across the Great Ridge to Mam Tor, then walk down Winnats. You could probably catch a bus from Castleton back to the reservoir to your car. I've done a video of the great ridge as well.
