    I know how you feel brother. I just went from a stock internals B18B1 (non-VTEC) turbo to a built LSVTEC turbo in my EK coupe. Total revamp of the entire engine bay.

    more detail in the VE swap and less on the turbo would have been prefered. ...or change the title of the vid.

    Did you consider a Borg Warner EFR turbo as an option?

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  Před 7 lety +12

      Mick D considered it but we have a long relationship with GCG Turbochargers and Garrett. If you look back through our videos you can see we are loyal to those who support us.

      P11 converted to single solenoid? I have a 20V that has only one.. P11 stock has 2 right?

    • @MickiDracing
      @MickiDracing Před 7 lety +1

      MotiveDVD Ok, but GCG do sell the BW EFR range of turbos, I would of thought a EFR 8374 would be perfect for your setup... but hey, if you can get the Garrett for free then maybe it's worth sacrificing some response. I would really like to see a back to back comparison of these two turbos on your setup.

    • @SR22VET-S15
      @SR22VET-S15 Před 6 lety

      Mick D Mick D real st had done a back to back test with a precison 6266 and efr equivalent turbo on the same car. Precison made 843whp @29 psi the efr made 786whp @30 psi. The efr spooled 70rpm faster than the precision gen 2 but it lost nearly 80 hp to the precison and was running more boost too. On the graph it shows similar power curve between the two turbos up until the top end where the precison walks away from the efr. 70rpm of spool is not worth losing that much up imo, keep feeding in more boost and the precison keeps making more power, a few mates of mine run the efr turbos on their track cars and they say themselves the efr efficiency is in the low 30 psi range

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  Před 7 lety +1

      Mohammad ALHabeeb we reviewerd the Gen I, and from what we've seen the Gen II is just as responsive and can make more power at same turbine speed so it's a good thing.

    great build mate, would you lose any power or response going from the twin scroll set up to a v band?

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  Před 7 lety

      SR22VET twin scroll on any given combo shod increase response but we had the problem previously where the car was actually a little too responsive and we dialled mid range boost down. We have new head and larger turbo so interesting to see what it's like.

    • @SR22VET-S15
      @SR22VET-S15 Před 7 lety

      MotiveDVD thanks for replying. im building my motor too and its very similar to yours. 2.2 stroker p12 head with 184t cams. i was undecided on wether to keep my t3 manifold with my precision 6262 or to upgrade to a twin scroll gtx3582r with 6 boost twin scroll manifold, on all your previous builds youve used twin scroll with great results, so i was abit shocked to see that youve changed to a v band apart from easier maintenance being the main point.

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  Před 7 lety

      We debated it a lot. One factor was Hypertune wanted to use one of their off the shelf manifolds and Garret doesn't do as many rear housing options as they used to. Twins roll is always better in theory but we had too much responses before so figured the lower CoG, shorter dump pipe and simpler to work on out weighed making a custom manifold to suit twin scroll

      Jet Multimedia is a video production company. Andrew pays for this car out of his wage but obviously lots of help from sponsors and friends, but in return for this famous lots of late night editing. Motive DVD certainly doesn't have et funds from views to pay for it.
