Great job! I’ll be watching part 2 when available. I purchased a derelict 1999 Argo Conquest this year that had been sitting outside for years. EVERYTHING needs rebuilt. I benefit greatly from people like you who are willing to take the time to put your efforts on video. Thank you
I grew up with a family of certified mechanics. If this had been their machine they were working on at home, they would have done--EXACTLY THE SAME STINKIN' THING ZACH DID!! You triage the motor, get a baseline and assess what you need, make a punch list, then buy your supplies, THEN you go deeper and vacuum, etc-JUST EXACTLY LIKE HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO. Guess what, if some gas had started a small fire, HE WOULD HAVE PUT IT OUT!, no big deal, it happens, you take care of it, you move on. Of course you've gotta be careful, but listen to his commentary, he knows what he's doing! Pretty sure he knows gas is flammable, people. Some of the comments on this posting are why McDonald's has to write WARNING COFFEE IS HOT on a cup of hot coffee!!! You can't teach common sense, and you can't fix stupid. Zach-you've got skills and common sense, so let all the stupid that gets thrown at you roll off your back, sir!!
@John John I agree with you that motor are electric and engines are gasoline. I am still baffled by the fact that I have to put 10W-30 Motor Oil in my engine. :/
Thanks for showing us a tour of the ole Argo! I have always wondered about that back rack since I haven't seen one like it anywhere else and wanted one for my Argo -- my Bigfoot looks just like yours. It's cool to see it up close and hear how you all have used it over the years and the custom-built stuff your dad put on it. It's going to be awesome to watch you drive it again and see it in future adventures!
You know what is really nice about that back rack (this is Joe commenting) when you go in the water that front is so heavy in the water compared to the back. We would put weight in the back and it would level out and not look so stupid.
Way to go Zach!.....I’ve worked on cars, trucks, tractors, ect. I couldn’t have done better myself....Hey was that a small welder I saw sitting on the floor?....If so, you have what you need to touch up the rack.....I’m looking forward too more Zach repair videos......You’re a natural.....Thank you for taking us along!
That is great to hear it fire up. Since I have worked on engines most of my life, rebuilding them and rebuilding carbs you did everything like I would of done. You have to trouble shoot! It is good to hear that you are getting it back in service. I have seen the videos of it being used at the tent. Wondered what happened to it. Can't wait to see it back up there and you guys using it. Juddie - J & J TOA
That is awesome you have it running. Nice job Zachary. After reading some of the comments I think I might be a little pissy tonight. Allow me to police the comments. Hahaha. (cracks knuckles)
Nice work Zach. If I may offer some advice, on that air intake for the cooling fan, maybe put some aluminum screen over it after you get it cleaned out, that might save you the headache of having to clean it again in the future! Nice work
Good job Zach. U remind me of my son. If an engine needs repair he’s game to try and fix it. And most of the time he is able too. Interesting video. Thanks
Good job guys. I'm glad it's worth fixing up. Personally I would do new plugs, oil, starting solenoid, clean and lube the drive chains. I think I would also clean out that fuel tank really well. I'm looking forward to see what you do in the future.
Great job Zach!!!....I would love to see you getting her ready for more useful things to do. It's going to be great seeing her with solid racks, cleaned up and hauling more deer.
Good job from a locked up dead pull to get on the trailer to firing up. I tried to find the channels belong to the negative posters so I can leave them some feedback! Zero found so far! Keep it up. Regards.
Zach when I saw that you were going to return the Argo to a working machine again I was pretty excited. I have always wanted an Argo, although they are not as fast as a Four Wheeler they can go through some wet, muddy places. Keep the videos coming !!
Nice save Mike... Do it our way. haha. No need to clean it at all if he could not get it started. We would have shelved the project and saved a shit ton of time. It has been vacuumed now and there are more videos to come. Thank You.
Glad your getting the Argo going!!! I will say you have a cool Dad!!! You have som great advise in the comments section. No need to add Any good luck!!!
Somewhere on that Argo is a big mouse nest. They really like it under the cooling shrouds. If your going to do it, do it right. Pull that motor and clean everything. I used to have an attached garage about that size and warmed it (can't say heated) with one of those 1500 watt radiator lookin heaters. Beats frostbite.
I for one want to say good on ya Zach. And there are to many people who want to assume that you need there opinion because they think you don't know what your doing. I took this video for what it was. And that is setting a base line. Get the engine to fire and go from there. I get what your doing. So keeping picking away at it and filming it. And I will keep watching and enjoying it. Hope you have a great night.
I sure miss my Dad! Really great to see you mechanically inclined! Sure will save you a ton to not pay someone else. Seem to me, you could lay your screwdriver crossways over the cellinoid to see if it sparks? That's the one that has the 2 screws like on top right?
It seems to be running good but I would really like your contact information for the future. I appreciate the comment. homeandcabinconstruction@gmail.com
Wow Zach you are so gifted. Amazing job man. Keep up the great work. Hope Sam is feeling better since that accident. Need to watch your other vlog. Haven't had time. Did see the pic of your families new ride. Again, thanks for sharing. Sincerely Michelle Pup Harley and Kitty Liam.
Love the feeling of something firing up after putting the time in to mess with it. I like atf, and any good weasel piss for all the stuff corroded joints and cables. Way to go can't wait to see it go for a rip!!!!!
Zach , as an old time small engine mechanic you may want to pull the tin off of that engine and clean what ever the mice left you. Much easier to do it now before the engine overheats. Good luck and good job.
you need to take that carb right a part, including taking the chock butter fly off and pull the shaft out. once you have the whole carb in peaces jet and sets out, sock it all in carb cleaner for 24 hours. you can buy gunk carb cleaner in a jug, after it socks 24 hour. brush every peace down good with a good parts cleaning brush, then use compressed air to blow everything out making sure to blow though every little hole, then use a spray can of carb cleaner to blow though every port, then compressed air again. there will be dried crap in the ports, pick up a rebuild kit for $27 cnd and put it back together using every new part, if you fail to do this, it will always give problem down the road. then always run fuel stabilizer in the gas. then when you know it will not be used for some time, mix the fuel stabilizer to storage mix run engine for 10 min. fog the carb and turn off right after, never run the gas out of the carb on these when you leave it sit. there is an eletric fuel pump under the seat on driver side on the frame, they are a cheap pump and fail when left sitting with old gas. you may need to replace it and every fuel line, i know these in side and out. to take the engine oil out pick up a hand vacuum pump for sucking out oil, when you take all the drive chains off, put them all in a big pan and mix 70/30 fuel oil and ATF TRANSMISSION OIL. Let them sock about a week, and every few days work the links, even if they are locked up, it will free up, work them in the mix until no more rust an dirt comes out... install new master link clips do not use the old ones. change the oil in the gear box with 80/90 gear oil, or lighter if you use it below -20F
That's what I love about small engines. Clean out the intake and give it some gas and she's guaranteed to run. No need to toy around with a complicated electrical system.
I honestly can't believe some of the comments on here. Its been a while since i seen the safety sally police come out in such numbers over something like this lmao Keep on making stuff work Zach !! Thanks for the video. Some do, some coach :)
LMAO on some comments also ! GREAT JOB Zach for not setting the place a blaze lol and getting er running . Good thing i don't post my videos like this small engine starting , i use a 5 gal pail to pore gas from and i find if you put the ground directly to the carb it starts QUICKER.
Great job! I’ll be watching part 2 when available. I purchased a derelict 1999 Argo Conquest this year that had been sitting outside for years. EVERYTHING needs rebuilt. I benefit greatly from people like you who are willing to take the time to put your efforts on video. Thank you
Check out channel Mustie1

The silence in the beginning I was waiting to hear “hello everyone, and welcome back” 🙂
HAHA! Right!?!!!
That's great Zach Gonna be fun watching you guys use this beast....

Great to see the younger generation work on motors and take on projects like that. Nicely done Zach.
@John John I agree with you that motor are electric and engines are gasoline. I am still baffled by the fact that I have to put 10W-30 Motor Oil in my engine.
:/

PBlaster is great stuff! Hardly anything it won't make better when you spray a little on. Good Job Zach!
Good job Zach! Looking forward to you driving that around soon.
Zach I am totally impressed I didn't realize you knew how to work on machinery You Jensons never fail to impress me!!
Nice job mate many thanks for that.

Solid work Zach. Looks like a fun project.

Thumbs up. Good job bringing it back to life.
Zach, That’s terrific to see the progress your already making. I love to see something old brought back to life 👋
Nice work Zach! You have a real talent for small engine work
I see from the thumbnail you found a pic of the canopy Zach mentions. I don't recall ever seeing it like that in any of the older videos. Neat!
It took me awhile of searching to find the pictures. That is from 2011.
Wow! Well done!
That is awesome you have it running. Nice job Zachary. After reading some of the comments I think I might be a little pissy tonight. Allow me to police the comments. Hahaha. (cracks knuckles)

Good thing there are so many small engine repair safety experts here to criticize every little thing. Great video Zach!
🤣😂
Good work Zach, its neat to see the old come back to life.
Great engine , I had that motor on a Fradan leaf blower , the leaves never got to much to blower.
Good job Zach. U remind me of my son. If an engine needs repair he’s game to try and fix it. And most of the time he is able too. Interesting video. Thanks
I would restore that thing, and keep it out of the weather for sure. Perfect for the tent
Your getting there Zack
Good thing no one tried to start the engine.
Great video
Looking good zac, coming along fine👍..pitty didn’t get to see the old man joe with it doing it up back in the days.
Good job guys. I'm glad it's worth fixing up. Personally I would do new plugs, oil, starting solenoid, clean and lube the drive chains. I think I would also clean out that fuel tank really well.
I'm looking forward to see what you do in the future.
Thank you for the video, Thumbs up.
Awesome job Zac. I remember when it was up at the tent and used by you guys, so it’s great to see that it will be being used again again soon.
Awesome Zach , great to hear that engine run. Looking forward to part 2. Don’t worry about the negativity, you doing an awesome job.
Great job Zach!!!....I would love to see you getting her ready for more useful things to do. It's going to be great seeing her with solid racks, cleaned up and hauling more deer.

The heck with the shop vacuum, use the blower end before you take anything off! OR, do it your way. lol.
Nice save Mike... Do it our way. haha. No need to clean it at all if he could not get it started. We would have shelved the project and saved a shit ton of time. It has been vacuumed now and there are more videos to come. Thank You.

That is exactly how he got the starter to turn over. He explained that in the video.
If you need a rebuild on that engine I'll be more then happy to tear it down and refresh that motor Briggs and Stratton are my favorite
It seems to be running good but I would really like your contact information for the future. I appreciate the comment. homeandcabinconstruction@gmail.com

Your channel says Joe and Zac survival where’s the survival stuff ?
Sorry couldn’t resist lol
Good job. Your not afraid to get in there and get it done. I can see it hauling out deer next November.
Zach , as an old time small engine mechanic you may want to pull the tin off of that engine and clean what ever the mice left you. Much easier to do it now before the engine overheats. Good luck and good job.
If I had a dollar for every comment telling you to get out the shop vac... Nice job getting it running!
Awesome!!!
Congratulations Zach! Will be nice to see a some deer on it next hunting season!

But save yourself a future headache and shopvac all that debris out of engine bay
Every one keeps saying shop vac. I say to hell with them, use compressed air lol.
Yay Zach
Its been so long! sounds like progress!
Way to go zack.. 🖒🖒🖒
Awesome Zach! Maybe try a Shop Vac to get all the leaves/debris out of all the nooks and crannies before you take it apart anymore?
Great job Zach
Got a 8 wheeled Argo that needs to be gone from my yard. Motor runs just needs a lot of work on whole unit.
How close to Minnesota are you? Now that we know how to load it on the trailer I am interested.
She's a runner!
Nice Work!!
Gotta replace the carb on mine now. It has to be the most expensive B&S carb ever made. $239
Lol the poor car next 2 it that's taking the fumes!😅😅😅
It's totalled anyways haha
It probably enjoyed its last fumes. Lol. czcams.com/video/qCQvsV0mRbk/video.html
Great video!
Can't wait to see it alive
Is there anything this family can’t do?? Thanks Zach
