  • It's time to go thrifting at Goodwill and look for things that will sell fast on eBay or Amazon FBA and make money! Today I hit a couple Goodwill stores I don't go to very often and end up scoring some great finds to flip! These are the things I'm reselling online and making money.

    //WHO AM I?
    I'm Wick and I am a reseller for a living. I find things at garage sales, thrift stores, and even clearance at retail stores to sell. I do online arbitrage, retail arbitrage, and buy locally. While the majority of my business is done through Amazon FBA, I also sell on eBay or anywhere else I can flip the junk that I find.
    I also trade stocks and futures, do affiliate marketing, and Merch by Amazon to make money online. My goal is to live a free life away from the typical 9-5 job.
    Subscribe and join me on my adventures to see what I can find to make some dollars.

    //FAQ
    Q: What Apps do you use to sell online (eBay and Amazon)?
    A: I search the eBay sold and completed listings to get an idea of what products are selling for. I use the Amazon Seller App to scan for FBA.
    Q: Can you make a living selling online?
    A: Yes, the difficulty is based on how much effort you put in and how much you need to make each month. I do this full time.
    Q: Where do you find your clearance products to resell?
    A: Literally everywhere. Check end caps and look for clearance aisles, but mostly it will be mixed in. Ask a manager if there's any good clearance deals and build a relationship if possible.
    Q: Do you make a full-time living selling online?
    A: I do. All my bills are covered, I'm able to save a good amount, and put money back into the business. I also do other things to make money, but reselling is the meat. It takes a lot of work and dedication to make a full-time living reselling.

    Never cases to amaze me how Wick seems to be alone in the thrifts without the stroller moms with three extra tag-along kids during school hours being allowed to run wild and throw toys and scream. I still maintain Wick lives in some kind of thrift utopia that is protected by a bubble from the rest of society, the entrance to which is a closely guarded secret.

    New to your channel and while binging you said you pass on belts. Heavy real leather and western belts can bring some really good profit. They take no room and very easy to list & ship. Fast sells on most I have sold. I pick them up all the time for $2 or less and flip them for $20-$60 regularly. With western belts with buckles are generally a no brainer. Buckles sell great alone. I have bought buckles on eBay to ad to a to a good western belt and flip it back on eBay for triple profit.

      Yes, you're right. I started looking at belts more over the past month. They are also on the list for me to talk about in a future video. Thanks for watching!

    When Amazon gives a high pricing error, list the item as collectible-like new and that will bypass the pricing communists. You can enter an item condition comment clarifying that the item is actually new and sealed

    I have been watching your videos for some time. They are fantastic for us treasure hunters. Love them. One thing that blows my mind and makes me jealous is it seems that you can navigate your thrift stores without any fighting for aisle space, people getting in your way, people being rude and reckless, or just unable to even shop at all. It's amazing you can even video at all. What's your secret? Must be special effects. 😊 Keep it up. Really helps us spot items faster. I have gone all times of the day and every day. It seems to be getting worse and worse in my area. I'm in Florida. Most likely that's the reason. 😊 Thanks for the awesome content.

    Marion Good Will chain has low prices but over time they are approaching these higher prices. I was so upset when plush went from 0.99 no matter what to 1.99, 3.99, 6.99. Most are 1.99 though. The workers just slap on tags and no one is there to google lens stuff so there are good deals.

    My favorite goodwill just started pricing things dollar for dollar eBay prices. At least what they look up and it seems they look up a lot of things. Still finding stuff just had to change my prosses.

    • @cretan982
      @cretan982 Před 6 měsíci +2

      Mine too. And often they're just looking at the asking price not the sold price. They do make a lot of mistakes though. Got to be careful not to overpay.

    • @dustyoldhat
      @dustyoldhat Před 6 měsíci

      Complain to the management of the store, and then complain to your region head office, which you can look up online. Goodwill operates on a regional basis, so all of the GWs in your area are under the same region, and have the same corporate structure (fun fact, there is no overall corporate structure, each region has its own CEO and does things its own way).
      But do complain and complain often via email, phone call, and written letter even. Point out to them that nobody will pay the prices if the managers are pricing "hypothetically" what someone MIGHT pay online, and the products will just sit there. Make the case that they stand to make much more money by pricing low so that they sell more.
      Little by little, most Goodwills who try to price things up super high (mostly post-pandemic) have been forced to drop their prices. I've seen it locally and I've been a part of making it happen by complaining. They start to see in their bottom line that they aren't making as much money when they price like that, and loud customers and negative reviews on Yelp and other platforms that drive other potential customers away from their store, helps too. I know of one GW near me who has dropped their prices around 15-20% across the board in the last quarter due to customer complaints and negative reviews. I primarily do clothing so I can detect price increases and decreases much faster than folks sourcing the shelves, which tend to have much more variation and therefore much less consistency to help detect price swings and trends.

    Question: Do you go the extra mile to get ungated (10 items purchased with invoice) or do you scan as much as you can to determine what auto ungates you?

    That's one site I haven't gone back to selling on is Amazon but in Canada. I have 2 VHS tape rewinders .. so I wonder if it would be worth going back on there and selling them on there, I wish i could find stuff as cheap as the deals you find but anything in new shape here tends to sell for Ebay high prices at a lot of the thrift stores here. Hot Wheels other cars similar tend to sell for about $5 to $10 CND for only a really mall bag of well used cars. Those are rarely worth getting for those prices. I personally think they should be about 50 cent or less a car and $1 to $2 if new each ... no more.
    I always enjoy watching your videos by the way Wick .... I watch them all the time.

    • @freeman4755
      @freeman4755 Před 6 měsíci

      thats funny because I'm the opposite, I paused most of my other selling besides Amazon Canada because shipping in Canada for ebay items and such has gotten way too crazy, now I just send one big package every now and then to restock my inventory. I also feel like you can price things a bit higher on Amazon compared to ebay because people are willing to pay extra for the 1 & 2 day shipping

    • @Aaramlias
      @Aaramlias Před 6 měsíci

      @@freeman4755 I had some issues / complications with selling on Amazon a long while back. Now I just need to figure out how to get past a few violations that happened after I my Amazon account was down for years. A few companies made selling their videogames that I had 2 of no longer allowed on Amazon. So not sure if can get back on because of that. Those games I don't even have anymore and sold about 10 years ago, But the violation is still there.
