      I met both Tito Santana and Greg Valentine 2 weeks ago in Lubbock Texas. Great guys with good stories to share

    I enjoyed watching Tito back in the 80s. He was a solid worker, and fit in perfectly before the giants came in. His matches with Valentine and Savage were good stuff.

    I got to meet this man in London ontario. My mother who was also mexican caught him off guard when she spoke Spanish to him.

    My grandfather born 1922 in Puerto Rico both Tito Santana and Pedro Morallis was his favorite wrestlers. I grew up with all those classic wrestlers during the 70's and 80's. As a kid I met several of them when WWF in those days were coming to local high schools.

    Liked hearing Andre helped Tito to his room after being injured. Good example of what the boys meant when they say if Andre liked you he treated you like gold

      I'm from Roxbury, he was a substitute when I was in high school. I think he still owns a hair salon at the mall.

      Looks like the salon closed in January 2022 after 25 years. I walked by it once in the early 2000's and there was a little Tito action figure on the shelf right by the window!

    According Greg Valentine in video on youtube said "The belt was in box in your basement. But your wife Leah collected boxes from the basement believing to be trash or the boxes were damaged by water dampness. And it was thrown out. (Assuming this is a story you told him)

    There is a special place in my heart for this feud. Greg Valentine was the first heel I liked. The Rock n Wrestling Connection got me into pro wrestling, but this feud kept me in.

    You scored again James !!! Tito is somewhat an unsung hero these days ! Not to me ! I LOVED TITO as a kid . I still have his LJN figure and i remember crying when Randy cheated to beat him for the belt ! I couldnt even finish my lil McDonalds Happy Meal that Saturday morning !

      @@nonebutchrist5136 well there was Tito was to get a huge push as WWF were focusing on the Latin America and branching out to Mexico. It all changed and the push was given to Bret Hart and the focus went to broadcast to the European market

    Damn what a crying shame Tito threw away that old green championship.
    I know he worked for the Insane Clown Posse’s wrestling promotion, one member of that duo, Violent J, would probably have hand him 50 grand easily, as his a big collector of real wrestling championship belts/

    Interesting Paul Orndorff in shoot said he passed on the IC title, and suggested Greg Valentine to be the man to fued with Santana.

      Yes, I think he looked at programs with Hulk Hogan was where the money was. But Vince thought he was 51/50 anyhow, I would have loved to see Orndorff with the IC title though. His feud with Santana was at the point where a title change would have made sense.

    Longest consecutive feud, maybe. But Roman and Brock started feuding in 2015 and carried on almost every year since then.

      No, I'm sure it was booked that way. Greg was a pro. Don't think he'd do anything like that on his own.

    I could be wrong, but I think his feud with Rick Martel was even longer than the one with Valentine. The Martel feud started in 1989 and every battle royal they were in saw them going at each other until Tito left in 1993.

    I wish you would have asked Tito about Wrestlemania #1 and his masked challenger. I am probably one of the only wrestling fans that knows that the wrestler was Ed Wright, and NOT Buddy Rose. I worked with Ed for a security company. Ed trained me, and he showed me his Wrestlemania ring. He told me who he was and that he wrestled Tito Santana. He proved it to be true after further discussion with him, but not to many fans out there ever knew that Ed Wright existed as a professional wrestler. ✌️

    I was a huge Tito fan. I grew up in Hell's Kitchen, NY which is West Midtown Manhattan. This is where the wrestlers stayed when they came to wrestle at MSG. I got to know many of them including Tito. I once gave him a silver bracelet with his name on it. I didn't buy it. Actually, I stole it from my step-brother whose name was Tito. 😂

    I loved Tito Santana dearly. Listening to his interview is tough, he stutters like he has cognitive issues in trying to find the words to put his sentence together. It hurts to see.

    Why was this belt different? You hear stories of guys like Flair having to give security deposits of $25k, etc... in order to travel with their belts. Even if the leather was shot, I'm missing how the belt could be deemed worthless and just "okay" to throw out (??)

    Actually, the green bet was NOT the original. The original IC title had a red strap. Over the years sweat, alcohol, and various "bodily fluids" had turned it black, at which time the plates were transferred to the green belt.

      When I was single and working in Saudi Arabia during the 80`s people there were addicted to wwa. I share a house with group of friends. They love watching wwa. Tito was their favorite wrestler. He was the most fit, most handsome, and contrary to what you have said he was very smart and he played by the rules. He got defeated only when his opponent would cheat
