Leatherjackets are great eating fish with few but large bones. Always brings back memories of fishing off Rhyll in western port for whiting with my grandfather. He grew up there, built yachts and knew all the channels etc. could plot positions using triangulation with landmarks on shore. Such good times and thanks Nev for the reminder- regards markc

Agree, the ‘ol leathery’s good chewin. Used to catch them up Lake Mac NSW but never as big as those dudes! Love that Nev sees them nickin his sand whiting and just goes, “ok then, we’ll just catch ‘em “! 😂

@@NevsFishinghey nev I hear ya with the squid struggle I have only gone 5 times and only got 1 on my second time out a good squid which I caught dropping a jig at my feet to see how quick it dropped and he came out from under a jetty 😂

Love your videos Nev .I mentioned to the boys at Hook up the other day that my spending is your fault lol. Went out on Saturday using your videos as a guide. Targeted gummies for the first time and landed 4. then targeted the squid (my drug of choice). landed 4 stonkers and a PB for me, 45 cm hood. Keep up the good work. if you could ad depths to your clips it would be good. GPS coordinates would be better but I don't like my chances.

those letherjackets are very very tasty, i hate catching them though, bite your hooks off and even bite your hooks in half.
that was also a decent fight for a 7gill, normally they are a bit more lazy in their fights.... one decent run then dead weight

I don’t want to see Tilapia fishing. Would you ask for Carp fishing? A very nasty sub tropical extremely invasive fish, Tilapia will do for northern rivers what carp did for southern rivers, destroy native species and destroy river habitats.
